"And the kits.." meowed Batstar, "Are too young to be apprenticed, but they still may receive Clan names. Minnow." he beckoned the gray she-kit. "From this day forth, you shall be known as Minnowkit."

Minnowkit let out a sigh of relief that her name wasn't changed much.

"Minnowkit Minnow Minnowkit!!!" Venompaw yowled happiness streaming with her voice.

Phantom's brother was next.

"Blizzard," mewed Batstar. "From this day forth until you've received your apprentice name, you shall be known as Blizzardkit."

Blizzardkit leaped with excitement.

"And Phantom," he meowed a bit weaker and Phantom guessed he was getting tired of saying the ceremony words. "From this day forth until you've received your apprentice name, you shall be known as Graykit."

Graykit tried not to gag out loud. Graykit?!? What kind of name is that? I'm not even gray – I'm jet-black! Sure Graykit sounds okay... but Batstar just picked that name out of the blue! What's wrong with Phantomkit?

But instead he mewled. "Thank you. I will be the best Clan cat I can."

"Great job Graykit!" Blizzardkit mewed almost breaking into laughter.

Graykit I was named, so Graykit I must become,

"Congrats both of you." Venompaw mewed. she sat and waited to see if there was anyting else he had to say.

Vipertail just turned away. These cats are the new favorites. I can't believe OasisClan would accept common rogues! She thought.

"Also," Batstar meowed. "Robincrest and Bushtail are coming to meet with Sugarflower, so be sure to act casual." then he leapt off the tree.

Graykit tried to hide how much he hated his name.

Venompaw watched as Batstar went to his den. She follwed him and called from outside. "May i talk with you Batstar?" she mewed outside.

Batstar turned to the sandy she-cat. "Yes, Venompaw?"

"I was wondering. If i am a warrior before Shaleshard's kits are apprentices..." Venompaw stopped and took a breath. "I was wondering if i could mentor Minnowkit?"
