Whitepaw followed Gorseclaw, Wolfheart, and Smokepaw silently, lagging back so that be was behind everyone else. Secretly, he was a bit disappointed that no one had responded to him, but he was more disappointed by the fact that he had not yet seen this rogue Gorseclaw had been talking about. Being an impatient cat by nature, Whitepaw expected something to happen as soon as it was mentioned, and when it didn't, he got annoyed.

Doeleap flattened her ears and stared at the ground, remaining silent until Nightcloud exited the den. She just stood there, feeling sorry for herself, until she heard Goldenstorm speak. "O-Oh, hi. I... yeah, hunting sounds good, actually." Inwardly, she was still berating herself for waking Nightcloud, but she thought hunting might be good to take her mind off of how mean the other warrior had been. Doeleap knew she was being childish, but it had always scared her when others raised their voices, so hunting seemed like a good way to calm down.

"shut up will you? we can practice battle techniques if you want, since I'm not that good." she joked, shoving him over and laughing as a leaf floated past him and he sneezed as it landed on dustpaw's nose. but she had to admit, she liked whitepaw a lot. when she joined mountainclan, he was also a kit who was brought in as a loner which is why they, together, talked and related to one another easily. when little mintpaw became an apprentice, being one moon older than the tom, he seemed so happy for her and she to him when he did too. but recently, they've become more.. nervous around each other. like they would GLADLY go on patrols together, but they just seem too shy. neither knows their feelings for each other, though it's easy to tell when they flirt. "nice squirrel", "great catch!", "woah that was a big leap!" and just things like that would have so much love in their words. her best friend smokepaw always was seeing it as well, which made it worse, but in a good way.

nightcloud let out an "urgh" noise as goldenstorm entered the den, purposefully stepping on his back paw and then heading towards the freshkill pile so it looked like he didn't do anything, perhaps doeleap had seen him though. he spotted mintpaw with dustpaw, reedflower's apprentice. he had been on patrols with reedflower a couple few times, and not being flirty or anything, because he found love quite strange, she was a very beautiful warrior and her muscles rippled beneath her pelt with swift moves to catch prey. clutching mice in her claws was as easy as swallowing a minnow.

"it's a really sharp pain but i don't know if it's worth taking up pineberry's time," lunakit meowed, knowing that wolfkit had meant it fully. her mother never understood how much her brother annoyed her, although her affection for him was quite strong. "like she's busy enough as it already is, and doesn't she have to travel to the moonpool soon?"

"oh, hello father," lunakit slowly got up, small white paws walking across to foxfall. she brushed her tiny body against his leg and purred, she liked her father quite a lot. "wolfkit's a dormouse I swear to starclan, he oversleeps all the time!"

as the tom sneezed, he was caught off guard and fell onto his back with a yelp. "yowch!" dustpaw mewed, surprised. mintpaw started to laugh at his reaction, and in return dustpaw regained his balance and tackled mintpaw. "even thought you're not good at fighting, a good clan cat should never let their guard down!" he mewed triumphantly

"I know there are two living near our territory," she responded to Wolfheart, "but we're going to be tracking the most recent scent. Who knows, maybe we'll find the other as well."

Smokepaw chuckled at Whitepaw's boast. "Yeah, right. You're only an apprentice, silly," he teased.

When Lunakit mentioned it being a sharp pain, the queen made up her mind. She was just about to get to her paws to fetch Pineberry or Mintpaw when Foxfall entered the nursery. "Oh, good morning, Foxfall," she purred.[/color]

The gray rogue woke with a yawn. The sun was just barely up. He quickly got to his paws and stretched before leaving the hollow log that had been his den for the past few nights - he should be moving again anytime now, though. He began to wander around before catching the scent of a hare. The tom crouched, slowly creeping toward the animal, and springing just before it noticed him. The hare hung lifeless from his jaws, and he returned to his den to eat it.

After checking if there appeared to be any other medicine missing, Pineberry decided to go for his apprentice because two cats hunting for the herbs may be more efficient than just one. Provided that she was still in camp. As he moved away from the herbs, he returned to listening to the daily noise of clan life. The tom tensed up a little bit as he arrived at his den's entrance because he couldn't quite spot Mintpaw hanging out in camp and his hopes of success plummeted as he confirmed the lack of his apprentice at camp. He stood still, looking over the cats for a good candidate to come with him instead, spotting someone immediately and walking over. "Good morning, Fadingpool, Mothsong," Pineberry dipped his head in greeting at the two. "Are either of you free for the day? I cannot find Mintpaw but we're in need of some more herbs."

Goldenstorm paid no mind to Nightcloud's grumbling, the tom's fur ruffled at the tip of his tail a bit, but he did his best as Nightcloud wasn't worth the golden tabby's time. Not immediately at least. After Doeleap responded, Goldenstorm gave her a nod and turned his body towards the entrance, with a soft "Shall we?" and started padding out of the den and towards the camp's exit. It appeared that the morning patrol had already moved out and his apprentice wasn't around yet, so doing some hunting should be the next best thing to both of those. Provided they even find something and don't scare it away with their combined effort.

The elder had no reason to be in a hurry, unlike most of the other cats doing their thing in camp. Except some cats, but Mousefang could understand them, especially with age. She was enjoying her time in the dark confines of MountainClan camp and soon dosed off out of a lack of excitement around her. Maybe something interesting will happen today. Who knows.

Wolfheart walked along side Gorseclaw silently thinking to herself. Flicking her banner the fae glanced behind her making sure the two apprentices weren't causing any trouble. Returning her attention to Gorseclaw the grey warrior spoke,"We would have to check our borders frequently, there's no telling what a rouge could do". She replied calmly to the deputy.

Ashenpaw awoke to the soft sound of treading paws and hushed voices outside his den. Glancing around himself sleepily he realised he was one of the only apprentices still inside. He yawned, his mouth wide and gaping, before sitting up from his nest and stretching his back. He righted himself and padded softly towards the exit of the apprentice den, hearing the voices louder then before, and realised with a start that he must have slept in quite a lot longer then he usually would have. Ashenpaw was always used to getting up at the crack of dawn, but he really should have expected to sleep in when he had gone for a bit of a wander last night. He was paying for it now, shaking his head to clear away any traces of sleep and trying to clean his thick fur of grass tufts, before pushing himself through the dens enterence and heading towards the middle of the camp.

The deputy nodded to Wolfheart. "Yes, that's exactly what we're going to do." She then addressed Smokepaw's request, "I don't see why not."

The slightest commotion behind him caused Smokepaw to turn his head to see what the matter was. He felt his face heat up at the sight of Ashenpaw. Smokepaw may be quiet and a bit shy sometimes, but he'd been working to get over this, and so, gathering his courage, he approached Gorseclaw. "Hang on, could Ashenpaw join us? He doesn't seem to have anything to do - with his mentor already being on this patrol." His eyes brightened but his stomach churned even more so when the deputy gave a positive answer. Nervously - but trying to hide that - he motioned with his tail for Ashenpaw to come along.

Ashenpaw had just walked out from the den, and was about to approach the fresh kill pile before he saw Smokepaw beckoning him over the small group he assumed was about to go on patrol. He could feel himself blush, and he was nearly certain that anybody could tell he was a bit flustered, but Ashenpaw just took a deep breath and approached the other apprentice with a smile. "Hey Smokepaw!" He greeted, his long tail moving lazily and happily behind him. It was safe to say he had developed a bit of a crush on the other apprentice, and trying to keep it hidden was hard. But he had done well so far, so he was going to continue. There was no way that Smokepaw probably liked him back, so he didn't want to ruin their friendship by making Smokepaw uncomfortable. Ashenpaw shook his head to clear his thoughts, before focusing on Smokepaw once more. "I assume this is the patrol? Do you think I'd be allowed to tag along with you?" He asked, before realising his mistake. "A-and the others of course!" He added, an embarrassed laugh escaping him at his own wording. Dammit, if he was going to keep this a secret he'd have to get better as masking his flustered emotions!

He licked Lunakit on her head, "Good morning, young one" he grinned, "and good morning Chivepool" he said, his gaze drifting from Lunakit to his mate. He looked over to Wolfkit with a slight frown, "He should grow out of this, when he is an apprentice he will be woken up by an angry mentor if he stays like this" he mewed.
