The deer meat was disgusting. It had obviously been there for days, and for some reason, the only think the Bang hadn't killed seemed to be maggots. Still, Bay was so hungry he had eaten a good deal of it, and even though it left a pungent taste in his mouth, he was feeling confident it would stay in his stomach.
Feeling at least a little better with something to digest, he turned to King. "And don't you know that if you don't eat something soon, you're gonna end up exactly like the shop keeper?" Bay didn't mean to be harsh; he liked King, and when he realized what he must've be going through, he softened a bit. "I just mean that food isn't exactly throwing itself at our feet anymore, King," he said, trying to encourage the doberman to eat.
He turned away, looking with interest in the direction he had been going. "The girl's name is Alatea. I only talked to her a few times while we were digging, but I like her; she knows what's what. You can trust her, I think," he said, standing to shake his fur. He created a cloud of dust and was suddenly ashamed of the way he knew he must look.
Still, he had made up his mind. The female he had been following had her head on straight; she could take care of herself. Would she return to the group soon? Maybe, but he wasn't worried about her in the least. She'd be fine. Right then, he was only worried about covering ground. "Listen you guys," he said, turning to face the other two, "I've been thinking it might be a better idea to split up. As far as I can tell, there isn't anything dangerous around here, so we should be fine alone." He cocked his head, trying to sell his idea. "But first, we need to come up with a plan. I haven't seen anything edible other than this trash," he gestured to the carcass, "and I haven't seen anything that resembles a home, either. What do you think we should do?"
((Our female characters seem to have been left in the dust, haha))
