Shadowheart waited patiently in the darkness for Stormpaw to go inside. His green eyes glittered in the shadows, but not enough to give him away. Today's lesson: using the element of surprise. He sneered evilly. Today's training was going to be fun.

Stormpaw padded silently in, awed. She looked around and sniffed. Wrinkling her nose she smelled very stale two-leg. She looked around a little but then realized she didn't know where Shadowheart was.

• Tigerpaw and her brother, Jayepaw, were both kits of a rogue who abandoned them in BreezeClan territory at 5 moons of age Born in the clan, her and her brother's mother, Russetfur, died at birth. Their father is unknown.

Tigerpaw is a very cunning she-cat with a knack for hunting and battling. She likes more to be outside of camp, either exploring or just wandering and finding prey, rather than cramped spaces. Tigerpaw is very muscular for a she-cat, and in battle is strong and extremely skilled. Her broad shoulders make it hard to squeeze through small spaces, otherwise accessible to smaller she-cats.

Featherpaw trod along on sodden, muddy paws towards camp. Her silvery-blue eyes were squinted against the rain that proceeded to pelt her drenched tabby pelt, and her ears flattened against her grey head. In the nearby distance, a crack of thunder was heard, and the overcast began to open up wider than it had been, sending thick droplets onto her back. A low grumbling could be heard eminating from her milky-white chest, a rumble of protest. She picked up her pace, the two mice that hung limply from her ivory jaws by their tails bumped into her chest from time to time. Soon, though, she could just barely see the camp entrance through the pale darkness of the overcast and splattering rain. Approaching it and attempting not to slip and spill out across the ground in the mud, she entered and was somewhat shielded by the storm, but not for long. Scurrying across the grassy, soaked ground she quickly dropped off her catch and rushed to the apprentices den, where she huddled, freezing, trying to dry off and get warm. She didn't like thunderstorms, particularly because she wasn't extremely fond of being wet. She shook her tabby fur and sat down, grooming the water off of and out of her silver pelt - that was now a dark grey. So dark, you almost couldn't distingush her elegant tabby patterns that littered her fur.

Jayepaw is more of a relaxed cat. He tends to sway towards talking rather than fighting, but will do so if needed. He prefers to be in the forest, particularly in the trees. He is skilled at climbing, but hates water.

With a screech, Shadowheart leaped from his hiding place an landed squarely on Stormpaw's shoulders. He threw his weight to the side, which wasn't much, but since she was unbalanced from his landing he knocked her down. Jumping before she could trap his feet under her body, Shadowheart finished his attack by standing on her shoulder. "Surprise attacks are the most fatal, and you must always be prepared for them on the ground as well as from the trees."
