Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

The light of dawn shimmered through the entrance and into the nursery illuminating the figure of the disfigured queen. Her face was ashen, still as a stone, devoid of any colour. She was in shock, she had been in shock the whole night unable to move, to speak, to do anything but just stare at the lifeless body of the kit before her.
How did it happen? How did she die? Briarthorn left her for only a minute to relieve herself - it was hardly any time at all! Surely nothing could happen in that amount of time? But It did - It happened and the evidence of it was laying limply in front of her.
Briarthorn finally broke down, tears streamed down her face as her curled herself protectively around her daughters dead body.

Lilypool wander in on cue soon after, just like she always did in the morning to check up on her and Tallkit. It had become routine ever since the sickness broke out. It effected the elders first, then spread to Briarthorn's kits. Everyone around her started dying off, she had been so sure Tallkit would perish alongside her siblings as well. But she didn't. She was a fighter, she was surviving... but now she was dead.

Briarthorn looked up towards the growing crowd outside her den, shrinking back and turning her face away from the cats streaming inside. "It happened last night," She croaked. "I-I was only gone for a minute..."

acornfang nodded slightly, barely acknowledging the medicine cat's words. why would someone kill a kitten? just the thought sent shivers down her spine. there was a murderer amongst her friends and family and acornfang promised to avenge tallkit's death. she headed off in the direction of the medicine cat den, looking back at the nursery only briefly as an image of tallkit flashed in her mind again. "Littlepaw, are you there?" she called out, stepping one paw and then the other into the den.

littlepaw yawned deeply, standing up to arch his aching back. "mornin', lilypool," he mewed happily. it was another day in riverclan once again. ever since the sickness, everyone has gotten quite down in the dumps, but he hoped everything would get better soon. but of course, that didn't happen.

littlepaw was organizing the new herbs he and lilypool had found from their last herb-hunting trip, when he heard lilypool's voice and many others echoing behind hers, coming from the nursery. his ears perked up curiously. surely it was nothing. right?

he continued his medicine cat apprentice duties. he didn't know why, but his stomach was churning and twisting. there was something wrong- he could sense it. he poked his head out of the den to catch some of lilypool's sentence: "get littlepaw to bring me lavendar and watermint?" littlepaw made a face. why would she need those? then he saw acornfang in the entrance. "watermint and lavendar, right? i got them," littlepaw said quickly, his mind running. he rushed towards the nursery.

[Nocturnal Creatures]

Ospreystar looked up from grooming herself as she heard pawsteps approaching. It was her sister, Silverfeather, "Yes, come on in Silverfeather. What is it?" She asked her sister before she started to walk in. She was glad to have Silverfeather, the two were quite close, even now that she was the leader of their clan. Her sister had been there when she gave birth to her kits and was there for her when they had died. She cared deeply for all of her clan but her sister especially.

shortclaw stretched as he stepped out of the warrior's den, ready to send out patrols. as his eyes swept across the camp, he noticed multiple cats gathering in the nursery. he padded towards the den, curious. as he got closer, the scent of fear and death mingled together in the air. he froze, fur spiking up. had the sickness come back, targeting briarthorn, or even worse, tallkit? the deputy pushed his way inside the crammed den, trying to figure out the scene.

"what's going on-?" he mewed sharply, but did not finish his sentence when his eyes landed on the small and limp body of tallkit. his eyes rounded in fear and worry. someone killed the kit!

[outlandish]

Morningdove blinked, hissing softly at the rising sun. Alright, time to get up. With a grumble, he pulled himself up and slid out of the den. The tom's ears twitched, hearing commotion from the nursery followed by a wave of cats. What is going on? Tail swishing, he stalked towards the den and stuck his muzzle in. Oh, Starclan. Death. He could smell it clear as day as it mixed with fear. "Is someone hurt?" he questioned, ears flat from where he stood behind Shortclaw.

Lilypool took a deep breathe. "She's with her siblings now," the medicine cat murmured, trying to soothe the queen. "Littlepaw, can you rub the herbs on Tallkit's body? She was killed at night by something," she explained to her apprentice. Walking out of the nursery, she tried showing everyone away. "Tallkit is dead, I'm going to go tell Ospreystar, that we've lost her," the medicine cat explained, walking over to the leader's den. "Ospreystar?" Lilypool called, her voice clearly stressed.

Shiverthorn

The light gray she-cat stood up slowly, and stretched. Stepping around her sleeping clanmates, she padded into the camp. Suddenly, a strong scent of death hit her. Suddenly snapping awake, Shiverthorn let out a mew. "What happened?", she asked. Pelt stinking of fear, she glanced around to look for the dead cat. How is this possible? I thought everyone here was healthy? And we don't have any elders anymore.. What could possibly have done this?

bramblestorm rolled over in her nest, haven being woken by the chatter of the clan. she huffed and blinked the sleep out of her dark green eyes. she walked out the den and opened her mouth to let out a large yawn. but as she did, she could scent something vile in the air. she looked around, seeing many cats near the nursery. that's where the scent was coming from. her already fluffy pelt began to fluff more as she worried. she watched as lilypool walked out of den, and caught the words "tallkit" and "dead."

Mousepaw glared at the dens entrance, she wasn't sure what everyone was moving about for but it was too early for her. Flicking her tail towards Potoopaw she tried to wake her friend, she wasn't gonna be the only one up if everyone planed on continuing the early morning meeting.
