A familiar scent took Fawnfoot's eyes away from the dog in the trees. It was Dawnpaw and Applefrost. Oh boy. If these two outsiders felt cornered they may bolt. Though Fawnfoot was still fast, he could already tell he was no match for the agility of the tree dog. Fawnfoot sighed listening to the stranger's words. "You may just be passing through but we would prefer that you didn't," he said, a slight rumble in his throat. With the addition of Dawnpaw and Applefrost to the mix he felt the responsibility of seniority weigh on him. He had to take charge of the situation and make sure nobody got hurt.

Dawnpaw looked up at the tree dog, then down at the one on the ground. They didn't seem hostile.... or dangerous. They actually seemed like they were just passing through. "F-Fawnfoot? I th-think we should let them g-go..." Dawnpaw glanced at Fawnfoot, then back to the two dogs. "Wh-where are you going?" she asked, though it was not in the commanding tone Velvetstar or Needlefang could use so easily. Dawnpaw's voice was soft, and shaky, and unsure.

At Fawnfoot's words, she snapped back to attention and glanced over. He's ready for a fight, if needed, Applefrost noticed a bit anxiously. The dogs didn't seem that harmful, especially since they were younger and inexperienced. Good thing Dawnpaw is compassionate, Applefrost wondered when the medicine dog apprentice asked them a gentle question. "They're young, Fawnfoot. No need to raise your hackles. They'll learn not to pass through this territory again," she comforted the older warrior as best as possible. For once, she spoke up instead of keeping her thoughts to herself.

She jumped at the new voices and looked over at where she heard them. They next to some bushes, there was a smaller collie looking dog and a dog she couldn't name. Oh great now there's four of them. Thanks a lot Mischief, now we're in a dangerous situation. If only I'd have chosen the mountain and not the river. Bad Firelight bad. She thought. She just hoped that Mischief wouldn't make things worse.

Snowstorm

Snowstorm watched as Velvetstar introduced herself only to see the pup seemed somewhat uneasy. She padded over but not too close. She didn’t want to scare him. When she heard Flarepaw explain how she found him, the young warrior wasn’t surprised. She knew Flarepaw left the camp quite a bit, without even telling a warrior. “Well it was smart of you to bring the pup here.” She said looking at Flarepaw. Her gaze then turned to Whispering. “Hello. I’m Snowstorm.” She greeted the pup with a warm smile. She then turned to Velvetstar, wondering if the alpha had any idea who could look after the pup. Flarepaw was still an apprentice and she really had to focus on her training. She couldn’t care for him.

The scrawny pup lifted his head though kept his gaze on the floor. He glance at Snowstorm and whispered out a 'hello' before letting his eyes drop again. Whispering couldn't help but ponder what was going to happen to him now that the alpha was here.

Dawnpaw nodded, agreeing, and smiled softly at the two strangers. She had a strong sense that she had done the right thing, defending them, although she could not quite say why. "Don't worry, Fawnfoot, it'll be alright," she whispered to him, continuing to smile at the two dogs. At long last, however, she turned back to her other companion and asked, "Should we go back? I do believe we gathered enough chamomile."
