Dappledheart's mind raced. Does Lionstar feel that same way? Her world seemed content at that moment. She saw true happiness. It had been quite some time since she had known that. With her siblings gone, she had become shy, secluded. The ones that had known who she really been close to were gone. All except Lionstar, the one who she had been friends with as a small kit. Dappledheart padded after him. The mist of her shyness somewhat faded. "Are we going to wait at the wait at the border or look for a patrol?" she said, louder than her usual but quieter than a regular cat.

Snowfeather sniffed the shape that lay in front of her, scrunching her nose then gingerly taking a bite. It tasted good, but the stubborn she-cat wasn't about to admit that.


Lionstar turned, looking at the she-cat with laughter in his eyes at her eagerness. "We will wait for a patrol. But if one doesn't come, we will cross." He stated.

Kestrelfire looked pleased as a group of cats began to gather near him, prepared to go out on patrol. As Lionstar addressed him, he nodded to the leader, "of course." He then looked at the blue-eyed tabby within the crowd, "Brambleclaw, I'd like you to lead the patrol towards the twolegplace, take Nightspring and Ivyfrost with you." Finishing, he moved his gaze, "Sandpelt," he called to the she-cat, "I would like you to lead the hunting patrol, take Moondream and Aspenstream."

Thistlepaw listened intently as the patrols were called out, irritated by the fact that she wasn't a part of any of them. She dug her claws into the soft ground, the dirt sticking to her pads.

AspenStream nodded and joined her patrol group, getting ready to go with a few quick laps of her pelt.


snowfeather finished her meager half of the mouse and stood up, using her nose to guide her to the camp entrance. Blinking as thigh it would take the gray away, she exited the camp, limping along even though pain cursed through her leg. The half blind she-cat followed her instincts until she was near the river. Around here was a large weeping willow where her and her sister were born. If course they were clanborn, but being born during a forest fire does not always mean being born in the nursery. It was like the spirit of her sister lingered here. Parting her jaws, she attempted to find the free, cursing when her bad leg landed in water.

I got up and walked to the entrance. I called, " Ready, Aspen stream, Moon dream?" I stared at Thislepaw. " Want to join us?"' I said, " I am sure your mentor won't mind!"

Brightstorm sighed and finished the mouse she watched the she cat leave but was happy with herself that she got Snowfeather to eat something. She got up and padded towards the deputy and waited for him to finish "Kestrelfire." she meowed his name.

Brambleclaw perked his ears when he heard his name and relaxed after he knew what he was going to be doing. He looked around for Nightspring and Ivyfrost.
