Krystalstripe's tail drooped. I bet I seem as depressed as Featherstar's Clan when she died. She snarled to herself, recalling the gentle old leader's name.

Songbird walked over to the two apprentices, smiling. "Hey guys. What are you to up to?" She said, sitting herself down beside Leappaw.

"Nothing, really. Neither of us have training today and we're trying to figure out what do do." Leappaw told the warrior.

Songbird laughed. "No training? You could wander the moors, or sleep, or attempt to hunt or practice fighting. But maybe no training is a lesson in itself; work and service is the only way to find true happiness?" She looked over at Tigerclaw, wondering if the old tom was really trying to be nice, or just teach Leappaw another lesson.

Leappaw didn't really understand Songbird, but she pretended she did so the warrior wouldn't try to explain it like she was a kit. "That's an interesting thought." She said.

[Pharaoh]

Songbird smiled, nodding. "Yep, but that may not be it." She grinned at him, wondering why he tormented his apprentice so much.

"Huh?" Leappaw asked. She looked in the same direction Songbird was. "Why are you grinning at Tigerclaw?"

Eaglepaw sighed, looking away slighly. Things were really boring.

"Because sometimes I wonder why he tries to make you miserable." She said with a laugh, grinning back at Leappaw. "You've gotta be tough to put up with him."

Leappaw cocked her tabby head. "He's been so much nicer lately, though. I mean, he even gave me a day off from training."

Honeyleaf shook her head. "Just me and you." She sighed, searching for another fish. She wanted to get away from Sparrowpelt, and the feelings she had around him.

Stonefoot smiled wider as Sagewhisker did. She had a pretty smile, too. "Now what?" He asked, somewhat dazed.

Sparrowpelt nodded, slipping away, following Dappleflight.

"How about back to camp? We could share some fresh-kill, I'm pretty hungry." Sagewhisker suggested.
