Ravenberry clawed at the grass anxiously. "I'll grab the moss and stick," he meowed, hurrying towards the forest, fur prickling with worry.

(okay, I was wondering if something went on while I was away XD)

Ivystorm looked up at her apprentice, shaking her pelt out. There would be time to worry about this later, she told herself. Until then, no one must know! "I'm alright, just a little tired," she purred, flicking Duskpaw's ear with her tail. "Maybe we should go out and do some training," she added, glancing towards the nursery. "It might be easier for Snowfeather and Bluefeather if there aren't as many cats to trip on!" She flicked her ear, forcing a purr. Unease stirred her insides. That would be her in a few moons...oh StarClan, how would she explain who the father of the kits are!

Snowleaf walked into the nursery and asked Bluefeather if there was anything else she needed. "Ravenberry is getting the moss and stick."

Bluefeather lay in the nursery shaking in pain. She shook her head no when Snowleaf asked if there was anything else she needed. Besides the pain, she still tried to joke with her firstborn. "If he doesn't hurry, i'm going to have to bite down on your tail."

Duskpaw nodded, "okay, I'd love to go out to practice!" She smiled at her mentor wen though she sensed there was something other than tiredness on Ivystorms mind.

Ravenberry

Ravenberry nosed around in the undergrowth, tail twitching. He was aware of the time slipping by. Finally he found a thick enough stick and he tugged some moss from the roots of a tree, careful for bark. He balanced the two in his mouth and hurried back to camp. He slipped into the nursery, dropping the moss and stick on the floor of the den. "There we go," he meowed.

Ivystorm

Ivystorm nodded, turning and leading the way out of camp. "We'll go to the clearing first, try some battle moves," she explained. She twitched her ear, shooting a glance up towards the sky. Dark clouds were skudding across the sky, there might be some bad weather soon...they'd have to hurry their training session and be back to camp before the storm hits.

[Shadow,]

Snowleaf took the moss and stick and nodded his head to Ravenberry. "There you go,Bluefeather." Snowleaf was so grateful that Ravenberry had come back when he did because the kits were coming.

(Fade to black)

Snowleaf stared sadly at the dead kit that lay before his paws. This shouldn't have happened. The tiny she kit that sat in front of him reminded him too much of Finchkit. At least the other two kits survived. he looked up at Bluefeather "There is a tom and a she kit. What are you going to name them? After hearing her response, he got up to push Sunkit closer to Bluefeather, and allow cats into the nursery one at a time.

Bluefeather was filled with grief at the loss of her second kit. She was brought out of her trance by Snowleaf's gentle mew. "The she-kit will be named Moonkit, and the tom will be named Stormkit." She looked at the lifeless bundle the color of fire at Snowleaf's paws. "Her name will be Sunkit."

Moonkit squealed at the coldness of the outside world. The only comforting thing was her mothers soothing lick. Moonkit wiggled closer to her mother, but when she did she instantly knew something was wrong. Her mother felt sad and there was a cold body next to her. Moonkit squealed even louder, trying to tell her mother that there was something wrong.

Stormkit

Stormkit opened his jaws in a small wail, both hungry and cold. He could hear another shrill wail from somewhere close to him, and feel grief pulsing from the scent of his mother. He wiggled closer, weakly kneading her with his small paws.

Hearing the wails from her kits, Bluefeather forgot about her grief. She gently licked Stormkit's fur, cooing gently as she did so. She pulled Moonkit closer too. Bluefeather heard a distant roar of thunder and grew worried. Rain was no good for kits who weren't even a day old.

Soothed by his mother's voice and tongue, Stormkit curled up close to his mother and drifted off to sleep.

Ravenberry

Ravenberry popped his head into the nursery, his eyes softening at the sight of the two new kits. He purred, dipping his head to Bluefeather. "Do you need anything?" he asked the queen.

Bluefeather looked up and meowed "Well, I could do with something to eat. A mouse maybe?"She looked down at her tiny kits and purred. "They remind me of their father. If only he could see them."

Moonkit heard a new voice and growled the best that she could. Stay away from my mother! She soon realized that acting tough is hard work, and she fell asleep by her brother.
