"Yes Nightshade?" Amberfeather murmured dreamily, stargazing once more. "You can ask me anything," she purred to her mate, who she had just moved closer too.

"Well, we certainly don't have to, and it's your choice but.. do you want to have kits one day?" Nightshade asked, a little nervously. He couldn't help being nervous; he didn't want to disturb her. His eyes sparkled, yet dimmed at the same time.

Amberfeather-
Amberfeather sat back, a bit shocked. "N-nightshade, did I hear you correctly?" she mewed. Calming herself, she began to speak. "My love, I honestly would love to have kits with you someday. But the thing is..." she trailed off, and turned her head to the ground.

"No no no no, calm down. I was just wondering, and we do not have to. I don't mind one bit if we don't, as long as we are together. What's wrong..? I hope I didn't.. disturb you.." Nightshade meowed anxiously, twitching his ear.

Amberfeather-
"N-no, it's not that," Amberfeather blushed. "You didn't disturb me at all Nightshade. I love you, and I really do want kits. But the thing is, I'm the Clan's deputy. If i'm in the nursery for who knows how long, what would Currentstar say? Who would take over my duties in the Clan?" she mewed softly, and desperately. "I know you don't mind if we don't, and I'm glad you're understanding. I just really want this, but I'm scared of what might happen."

"Oh, don't worry about that. I know that you would be aloud to, someone can easily fill you in for a while. Currentstar is a very fair and kind leader, and i'm sure someone would be able to. Don't be scared." Nightshade said soothingly. "You'll be fine, I promise."

"Do you really think so?" she said in a hushed tone, pressing her face into his chest. "Do you really think I could have kits someday?"

"Of course." Nightshade meowed certainly, and smiled. He nuzzled her head and purred.

"I'm glad," she mewed softly, and looked up to StarClan. Her stomach grumbled a bit, and she blushed under her pelt, and looked at their unfinished mouse. "We probably shouldn't let this go to waste...." she trailed off, a bit embarrassed.
