Ottersnap was still stretching when Flamingheart approached, being caught only a little off guard when she approached. "Morning." He grunted, finishing out his stretch as he spoke. "I'm good. You?" Ottersnap returned to a sitting position, idly dragging a paw over his whiskers. "It's a nice morning. A bit cold, but nice."

Glancing around camp, Ottersnap smiled to himself to see the rest of his clanmates rising. The buzz of energy was beginning to thrum through the camp and he was beginning to feel eager to start the day. It was now that he spotted his apprentice trotting over, containing a small smile as she approached. "Hello, Sunpaw." His tail flicked slowly, dragging across the ground. "Haven't decided yet. Lots to do, lots to be done." He paused, smiling at his eager apprentice. "Anything in particular you want to do?"

The tom was snoozing away as per usual, having of been tired from duties as of yesterday. Training and looking over the clan cats was quite the responsibility, and any cat would know this. Sparrowdusk was no exception to this rule. Upon the light of dawn escaping, he let out a slight noise of annoyance. The sun had right gone directly into his eyes. The poor tom quickly getting up to avoid the light from staying further in his eyes, licking his pelt, and then looking out to the entrance of the den. Surely enough, he could only assume as to what cat was even up yet.

Now all he had to do was get up onto all four paws and proceed to walk out from the den. Somecats are already awake...hm. The feline thought to himself as he took a few paws forward in the clearing to try to at least address who was awake. Some of the cats, indeed were awake. He could see some of the apprentices, if not all of them, already up and about. Including a said, white she-cat apprentice. Cranepaw, his apprentice, just sitting there. He figured maybe now was the time to check up on them just to see how they were feeling. Couldn't have leaf-fall ruin their mood- or the clan's mood.

That in mind, he decided he would take a gander and walk over to the apprentice. After all, she seemed like she was just...sitting there! Now coming over to the apprentice, he pointed his tail somewhat trying to be positive (alas, his attempt to be in a good mood). "Hello Cranepaw, how are you?" The presentation as if he spoke wasn't exactly cheerful, though unfortunatly. You can't do much as that kind of cat who just got their eyes blinded by some sun that barely warmed up in leaf-fall. He felt a bit cold after all in his own opinion.

Flamingheart trailed her attention back to the other warrior, nodding her agreement at his comment about the weather. She would have responded to his pleasantries had an eager apprentice not approached the two. She smiled warmly at the interaction between the apprentice and mentor. Deciding it would be best to leave the two to their own, she left with a quick greeting to Sunpaw.

With more cats appearing from their dens she was quick to spot her own apprentice, now waiting outside of his respective den. He seemed a little preoccupied with grooming but she padded over to join him anyway. There was a lot to do today, especially with the colder season approaching. "Good morning Gullpaw. Did you sleep well?" She asked, green eyes shining kindly.

Engrossed in his newfound distraction, Gullpaw failed to notice Flamingheart approaching him. He startled slightly at her voice and paused in his grooming, hind leg suspended in mid-air as he looked up towards his mentor. "Ah, yes!- Goodmorning!" He answered quickly without thinking much, straightening a bit. His rest had been alright, really, it had just been a little chilly as of late. He was still hoping for his fur to thicken with the cold season.

Finally standing to properly meet the older she-cat, Gullpaw's mind drifted to the possibilities of the day. Hopefully he would have a task soon. He should get his blood pumping to warm up. "Uhm, well, I'm still getting used to the cold..." He admitted, shaking away the thought. "What's happening today?"

Cranepaw nodded friendly to Gullpaw in return to his nod. Seeing others starting to wake up, she stretched and shook her white pelt. Blinking her eyes, she sat back down and zoned out for a few minutes, thinking about what she had learned. Startling, she blinked when Sparrowdusk approached. Embarrassed to be caught zoning out, she blinked. "I'm doing alright!" she meowed cheerfully. "What are we doing today?" she asked, knowing he had to do his other responsibilities as deputy first.

”we should go hunting” sunpaw meowed without even attempting to hide the excitement in her voice. the she cat was energetic- perhaps even to a fault- and hunting was definitely one of her favourite activities. the problem tended to arise when the excitement overwhelmed her, and she would forget to watch her step. almost always, a twig would snap under the weight of her body alerting whatever it was she was trying to hunt down.

She chuckles a little at his obvious surprise at her approach, she knows very well from time spent with him that while Gullpaw may look distracted most of the time he is actually very attentive and a fast learner. She honestly couldn't have asked for a better apprentice. "It feels like you've grown more every time I see you. I have faith that you'll be able to handle the cold well soon enough." She remarks giving him a quick glance over. It's exciting watching her apprentice grow, and she's sure Gullpaw will make an excellent warrior when he is older. For now though he still has training to do and she's prepared some work for them today.

"I was thinking we could go out on a little bit of patrol today, and if we can manage to get some hunting in as well. It's best to gather as much food and supplies as we can before leaf-bare." She comments looking towards the sky when the sun is rising steadily in a backdrop of light blue. They should get moving soon.

The deputy took a moment to think about the choices he could do for Cranepaw. Maybe going out hunting? It is leaf-fall, and leaf-bare could come up right around the corner anyway. They needed that good patrol to prepare. Much as he would, quite rather not, it was his duty. "I was thinking of setting up a patrol." An ear flicking slightly more-so in the direction of Flamingheart and Gullpaw in particular. Their group at the moment seemed like a good opportunity...considering no other cat was awake yet.

The tom then wisked his tail over and began to pad over to the two having a conversation. "Hello Flamingheart, Gullpaw." Trying to slightly relax his shoulders somewhat from a slight shiver. He was quite used to it now, but the cold was still one of his distastes in general. With good reason, too. "I'm figuring on perhaps enlisting the both of you along with me and Cranepaw on a patrol today." He wasn't quite sure how far the patrol would be (or that some cat was going to aswell for more territory), but he figured it would be...discussed.
