Tigerblaze stopped and turned back around, looking his former apprentice up and down with disdain. She-cats always got so worked up and emotional over everything, and Mistflower causing uncalled-for drama with him during the gathering didn't exactly change his views. "If you're truly happy with your choice, then why should you care what others think about it? Why should you care if I 'forgive' you or not? Why would you need forgiveness, unless you think you've done something wrong?" His gaze seemed to burn right through her. "If you're truly secure in your decision, then you wouldn't desire forgiveness or affirmation from anyone, least of all your former Clanmates, the ones you chose to leave. You can try all day and night to explain yourself, to make me understand why you did it, but at the end of the day I don't care why, because I don't care about you. You mean nothing to me, and nothing you say is going to make me think differently about you, so stop trying. You're just wasting your breath and making a scene." And once again, he padded off, fully expecting Mistflower to yowl some emotional nonsense back at him, but intent on completely ignoring her this time. Just as he'd walked away, Blizzardclaw came back, clearly curious and concerned about what he'd overheard. "That was about your cousin and her insecurities," he meowed, annoyance evident in his voice. "What was that about?" he shot back, referring to Dappleleaf pulling the deputy away for some important business a moment ago.
"Oh yeah, I know Mistflower!" Splashpaw perked up a bit. "Well, I don't know her that well, but I hear my clanmates talking about her sometimes, and I've met her once or twice. She seems nice." She pointed with her tail to Elmshade, who was talking with Lostnight and some EagleClan cats in the distance. "That's my mentor, Elmshade. She's also really nice, and one of my best friends."

Nightwish nodded. "Of course," she purred, pleased that she'd given him a good idea. With a yawn, the she-cat realized how tired she was and went off to the warriors' den to get some rest.
Darkpaw flattened his ears at being called such a thing, and he eyed Jackdawpaw, as if trying to see it. "No, I've been to a few," he replied, tilting his head. The black tom looked young, a bit of kitten-fluff still visible on his pelt, but he was just as big as Darkpaw. "How old are you?"
Littleflower looked uncertain for a moment. "I don't know--" But before she could say anything else, the two cats separated. "It looks like we won't have anything to interrupt, after all," she mewed. And if she was honest, she didn't particularly want to get involved with Tigerblaze. The tom was handsome, sure, but he was a bit intimidating. "I wonder what happened," she murmured. "Do you think Mistflower is okay?"
"Ah, I see..." Southstar murmured, his pelt brushing against the ginger she-cat's. For a moment, he considered leading her somewhere more private--surely they had time before the gathering began?--but he was distracted when he saw Mistflower and Tigerblaze arguing from afar, and noticed Blizzardclaw was on his way back anyway, so quickly put the thought behind him. They'd have time after the gathering. "Mistflower looks upset," he observed with a frown as Tigerblaze stalked away to talk with his deputy, and rose to his own paws. "Maybe I should go see what's wrong."
