((Well, you got one other post back. Might as well make an entrance with Jade.))
???
The silence was deafening. Nothing made a sound. Not an insect, not a leaf in the wind. Silence. All of it was interrupted by a single twig. Just one, tiny snap of a tiny branch sounded like a tree falling in the surrounding quiet. Half a second later, a large, black figure of a cat was falling from the sky, seemingly from a branch in a high tree. The cat landed with a quiet thump and another snap was heard. The black cat picked up a limp rat in its mouth and began to silently tread off into its small, nearby den. A small fresh-kill pile sat in the middle of the den, and the dead rat was added to it. The cat took a much smaller mouse off the pile and ate it quickly, leaving hardly any scraps left to be found. The cat then crawled to the back of the den and laid down, relaxed, yet keeping its senses at full. An eye stayed open as it started to dose off. It heard something and immediately shot up, padding its way silently to the edge of its den. Peeking out, it saw another cat, a black she-cat, as it passed by, limping. The she-cat's pale blue eyes were clearly visible in the darkness. The she-cat didn't seem to notice where she was, nor have any interest in the hidden den. Still, the black cat within crawled out quietly and followed the passing cat. The she-cat led him towards a new scent: a large number of cats nearby, likely another clan. The black cat who called himself Jadeclaw crept quietly away from the she-cat he was following, hiding from the other cats in the area. It was indeed a clan of cats. He noticed their boundaries. At least his black coat would keep him from being noticed in the shadow he hid in. He quietly watched the she-cat ask for help. The cat seemed weak, like she had just fought a fox single-handed and nearly lost. He waited for one of the cats to respond, waiting to see how they would react.
