batpaw felt that like a stab to the heart. agony and pain washed over his entire being, making his ebony pelt bristle. most would have run off, and at that moment, batpaw wished he could. but the very thing that kept him going, blind and confused, ruined his life. "he's rude. he always insults me. he gets into trouble. he's closeminded. he yowls at you, ignores me... and he changes you. for the worst." the sadness in his mew was undeniable. "but i guess he has his upsides... he can see. he'll be a warrior, and you probably grew up around him and actually knows his past. and you truly love him. that's all that matters, right?" batpaw mewed softly, actually felt something prick at his eyeballs. he couldn't muster the words nor the anger to express his thoughts. why? love. if he hurt her, he would never forgive himself. and everything said about him before would be right. every bit of it. batpaw stood up, his front legs shaking a little. "i know i'm different. i though i could be like you two... but i guess not. love him with your soul, nightpaw. i just want you to be happy. don't worry about me."
batpaw then turned and hobbled off, composure and all in tact. as soon as he was out of sight, he ran as hard as he could to the far side of the lake. when he arrived, he just began to strike the water. hard. hard. hard. his pawpads began to bloody up, as he was striking a rock that was beneath the water. but batpaw didn't care. he let it all out. every bit of pain inflicted from his past, his present, and his future. physical pain didn't matter. he was cursed. always cursed to fail and doomed to destroy those he loved. it was better this way. right? batpaw struck even harder, now smelling his own blood. but he didn't care. strike, strike, strike.
