"Everyone is just making a fuss over Lilystrike. I'm sure she's fine, dear. She probably just went on a walk," Rosetail assures Screechkit assertively.

Screechkit giggles a little. 'That's weird! If she just went on a walk, why would they fuss?' she asked, hopping on her paws. 'I can't wait for her to get back - I'm bored.'

cherrytail pricked her ears and thought she heard a faint yowl. padding closer to the camp entrance, it became clearer, and she recognized it as coyotecall. "starclan, please let lilystrike be safe." the molly raced into the forest, following coyotecall's scent. what she arrived at was horrid. "starclan help us.. lilystrike is dead." remembering that coyotecall was lilystrike's mare, she turned and touched the tip of her tail to the warrior's shoulder. "i'm sorry."
xxcherrystar the turned back to lilystrike's cold body. leaning down to inspect it, she took in all of the scents, trying to find out who did this. all she could smell was.. riverclan. "coyotecall. go to camp and bring back a few warriors. i want to check something."

"You know she's close to kitting," Rosetail replies. She gets a gleam in her eyes when the kit mentions being bored. "How about we play badger ride? I may be an elder, but I've still got some strength in these old bones."

Screechkit lets out a loud gasp, eyes shining. 'Yes please yes please yes please!' she squeals excitedly, hopping around in circles. Her mind is completely taken off of Lilystrike missing and cats looking for her.

Rosetail purrs and gets as close to the ground as possible so the kit can clamber on. Hopefully this won't be too hard; she'd hate to hurt the dear kit.

Coyotecall // Tom // Warrior // Tagging: Cherrystar

Coyotecall appreciated Cherrystar's comfort, even if it wouldn't bring his mate back to life or heal the hole in his heart. "If apologies brought cats back to life we'd be swarmed. It hurts but Lilystrike is safe and we'll see her again. We just have to wait," he mewed, his words practical and words brisk. The tom was still numb, and when Cherrystar asked him to do something for her he was happy to oblige. "Of course. Keeping busy is good, talking too but-" Coyotecall would have been more than grateful to have a full on therapy session with Cherrystar right this instant but she seemed busy. Besides, it would be better for him to talk with Ermineshine about such things. "I can tell this isn't the time. I will fetch some warriors." Crashing his way back to camp in a manner that was nowhere near stealthy the tom made his presence known at the camp entrance even before he spoke. And when he did speak it was with no hesitation. "Lilystrike is dead. She's with Starclan now. It may be painful for all of you, losing such a dear cat like this, but she is better off than we for while we miss her Lilystrike is with friends in Starclan. If anycat wishes to talk about the death they can come to me." Only midway through his speech did Coyotecall remember his reason for returning and come back to it. "Cherrystar is with her and requests warrior aid."

Screechkit was just clambering onto Rosetail's back, ready for a badger ride, when Coyotecall came crashing into camp, talking about Lilystrike being dead. She froze, tumbling onto the ground and getting herself up. 'R... Rosetail?' she asked nervously. 'What does that mean?' She vaguely remembered those words from when she still had a sister and parents with her.

Rosetail's mind freezes for a moment with Coyotecall's announcement. It then races, as if it's the last thing it will do. "He... He means... He means Lilystrike isn't going to come home," she finally decides is a safe answer. She stands as well and ushers Screechkit with her. "I've got a better idea than a badger ride. How about the story of Riverstar and how he founded RiverClan?"

Screechkit was just about to ask why, and if Lilystrike didn't like her anymore, but she was ushered away by Rosetail, and the prospect of one of her favourite cats in the Clan telling her a story was too exciting. Still a little dampened by the news, Screechkit nodded. 'Okay, Rosetail.' She glanced over her shoulder at the Clan.
