Asher
Asher sighed "When I was just a boy, I had all my dreams laid out before me. I lived with my father, and he used to be a warrior or a fighter, I'm not very sure what he exactly was. He used to tell me legends of kings in battle, heroes protecting the weak, and dragons ruling the sky. The subject was fascinating to my young mind, and he knew it. He told me that when I was old enough, he would train me to take his place. I had no idea at the time, but whatever job he had in mind, it sure must of pissed somebody off" Asher looked toward the horizon as he paused. "One day, he grabbed me and stuffed me in the closet beneath the stairs, he told me 'Whatever happens, Taryn, whatever you hear, do not make a sound', and he closed the door. That is the last I've seen of him. Next thing I know there are men yelling at my father, threatening him; these men, they kept asking him, 'where are they' or 'it is by the order of the king that you turn them over this instance'. He kept denying their accusations, and they accused him of treason. There was fighting, I could hear swords clashing and blood spilling, and then all went silent" Ash paused and swallowed a bit. "They burned it all down, everything. The house, the forest, my father. I was able to escape luckily, but I was left with nothing. Next thing I know, I'm living with my uncle" Asher shook his head and closed his eyes with disappointment. "It's silly, they killed him over a myth. And here I am, from future warrior to peasant who is supporting a bunch of children who aren't even mine."
