--------------Rays of light danced inside the sheltered cave where the stallions slept peacefully. His long plumed tail wrapped around his body. His chin rested on the coarse pillow. His long ears twitched slightly as he woke. Drowsily, he lifted his head and blinked a few times. "Good morning Lyra," he said yawning. When his vision cleared he found that his companion was no longer at his side. "Lyra?" He turned his head around to see if his friend had rolled away from him. Finding that she hadn't he jumped up. Worried that she could be hurt he pelt out of the cave. "Lyra!?" he called out again and again as he loped along the ridge line. Gaining his senses he lowered his head to the ground. He scanned the ground with keen eyes. Finally he found what he was looking for. Tracks. Snorting loudly he broke into a swift gallop down the mountain side after the mare's trail. He whinnied out for her fearfully. He couldn't help, but think of the worst situations. Humans. Mountain lion. Bear. Another stallion... He didn't even consider that she broke her promise. She wouldn't do that. Would she?

She flicked her tail boredly as Skittles made her way through the shaded pathway of the forest. Rays of sunlight peeked through the crowded tree tops creating a dappling effect of bright sunshine spots on the scenery around her. Her eyes filled with curiousity sparkled lightly whenever light bounced towards her vision. The filly perked her long ears hearing the faint sound of rippling water; a river. A soft whinny escaped her muzzle as Skittles bounded foreward, forgetting about her family behind her. Her hooves created tiny echos of sound as they clanked against the stones underfoot. Her nostrils flared slightly, taking in the new scent of the riverside. As she neared the bank a small smile painted across her muzzle, her young naive mind blown with each new discovery she found in the forest.

I laugh and run away from him. Although i was dragging him because he had a tight hold on my mane. I was kicking up water. The moon catches us running down the stream. My foot gets stuck in some mud and i fall. With him holding on to me he has to be going down too unless he lets go. He might fall on me or beside me im not sure. I fall into the shallow end.
Well then. This escalted quickly. I say giggling. It was kinda weird for me being around such younger equids. I couod be their mom!

Russet awoke to a rustling sound. It was the filly, Skittles, wondering into the brush of the forest. Russet was timid of leaving his mother's side, but the natural curiosity of a foal got the better of him. he rose, slunk over to the edge of the trees and neighed quietly to the filly to get her attention.

Skittles lowered her head to look at her reflection in the crystal, immursing herself in to focusing on herself. She broke from her dazed moment hearing a neigh nearby. For a moment she believed it was her sire or dam beckoning her back to talk to her about running off, but then she realized it sounded like a young foal's call. The filly shivered a bit, caught a bit offguard. After a moment's hesitation, Skittles decided she better go answer the call. So she reluctantly doubled back towards the call, lowly sending out a soft whinny in reply. Her hooves lightly thumped against the ground as the stones turned in to the forest floor again. Upon nearing the equid that called her she scented it was Russet, the new foal from earlier. The filly halted suddenly, choosing to hide behind a nearby tree as she spotted the colt not too far off.

Russet received the whinny from the filly and circled nervously. what Skittles got eaten by a predator? The though made him shiver and he neighed a desperate "come back here" to the filly, in hopes that she would return un-eaten.

Her ears perked hearing his desperate neigh. 'Why does he seem to care so much? I thought he didn't like me.' Skittles thought to herself. A low exahle escaped her muzzle as Skittles peeked out from the tree. She stood up straight shivering still occasionaly. ''I was exploring.'' she murmured out softly, frozen to her spot. She stared at the colt before backing up a little bit.

Russet shivered. "my momma told me that the forest is dangerous," he stuttered.
