Murderers in Riverclan V.2 [Roster Update 10/30]

It had come as a shock when the morning patrol a few days before had found the body of Gingerstar. Lynxtooth- Lynxstar now-
had been leading the patrol when they found her.

He now law in his nest, unsure what to do. Was the killer behind this? Was there ever even a killer in the first place?
He shuffled his paws nervously. He was the leader now, and that responsibility dawned on him. If anything ever happened to his clan,to his clanmates, it would be his fault. He shivered as he stood and walked out of his new den.
Gingerstar's scent is still here. He had made a new nest in the den, refusing to sleep in Gingerstar's old one. What can I do? I can't accuse a clanmate.
He found his paws instinctively taking himself to the Warrior's den, and he stopped at the entrance. I should talk to Beavertail. He'll know how to help, how to sort things out.

He quietly entered the den, prodding Beavertail awake with his paw.
He whispered, hoping not to wake any of the other warriors. "Beavertail, want to go hunting with me?"

Chivekit was resting in the den, pretty all she did these days.
She lifted her head, peeking out the den to see a cat or two outside.

Galecloud lapped Chivekit's head, allowing a small purr to escape her throat. It was so strange without Finchpelt's help... but the clan looked out for the young queen. "Chivie, do you want to play with this feather? Look how pretty it is." the shecat cooed, brushing the soft plumage towards her daughter.

For the first time since this all began, Brookkit was outside the nursery. Paws itching for movement he had followed Breezfire, finding himself within the medicen den.
Watching her sort herbs he tilted his head and pawed at a lone dock leaf "whats that one for?"

Chivekit nodded, a look of exitement in her eyes. "wow, yeah!" she exclaimed.

Consciousness hit him with a flood of warmth. Beavertail stretched out wide taking up an enormous amount of space in the den. However he was not met with the usual resistance he would encounter in the morning. That's strange. He let out a yawn slowly opening his eyes. Realization flooded through him, Oh. That's right. I'm a warrior now. It was an odd sensation. To be a warrior capable of having his own apprentice when he was only just one himself a moon ago. It was also quite lonely. At least at night and in the mornings. There weren't as many bodies to curl up to or to fight with when one would steal your moss-bed. But Beavertail guessed that was due to the bigger den which provided more room for the cats to evenly space themselves around in the space provided. It's also like this due to the increased spikes in deaths.

"Beavertail, want to go hunting with me?"
"Hunting?" Beavertail echoed. They were outside the den now. Beavertail looked over at the healthily sized prey-pile. They definitely weren't hurting to prey - the small hunting patrol they sent out every day was doing a good job keeping the clan fed. Even with the decrease in warriors. Beavertail gave Lynxstar (It still felt odd calling him that, even after a few days with his new title) a suspicious look. Isn't he supposed to be doing... leader stuff? Beavertail's eyes widened and his breath hitched. Is it going to be a special hunting trip!?

Trying not to bounce on the balls of his feet he agreed, "Hunting sounds good!"

Lynxstar motioned for Beavertail to follow him out of camp, and they walked quite far into the territory.
Suddenly, Lynxstar stopped. He felt his breath grow ragged, and he sat down.
"I don't know what to do, Beavertail. Everyone's looking to me to protect us- and I can't just accuse a clanmate." His worry was apparent in his shaky tone, and he sighed. "I asked you to 'hunt' with me because I wanted to talk. You're the only cat I feel comfortable with when talking about my feelings. The fact that we have to decided to exile another clan member- no. The fact that I have to decide to exile a clanmate is torture. I'm worried that we'll make the wrong choice." He paused briefly. They were sitting side by side now, and Lynxstar leaned into Beavertail for comfort. There were tears in his eyes as he mewed "I don't know what I'll do if anyone gets hurt again. If you get hurt I-".

His claws dug into the soil. "I'll make sure to find them. For the clan... for us."
