Layla.
She continued to ignore Foxglove as she hinted, and not to subtly, for her to leave. "I'm not going to hurt him" She said quietly, watching the tom still. She still couldn't place the feeling she had while watching them. A twisted feeling in her gut, one of sadness mixed with...grief? No, it couldn't be. She'd never met this cat in her life. Seen him, perhaps, but never met him. Not liking the feelings she had, she quickly dipped her head to him, glancing quickly at Foxglove. "I'll be on my way. I hope you feel better." She poke first to Mordecai, then turned to speak to Foxglove. "I'll see you around, perhaps. Nodding politely to the both of them, she turned swiftly, and padded silently and quickly away, soon lost in a sea of shadows.

Zeus.
He glanced at Squirel. "Thanks." He murmured quiely, watcing as she began to eat. He glanced over at Quicksilver as she spoke again, and let a wry smile pass his lips. "I know." Was all he simply said, watching her. She'd have to figure it out herself. Perhaps he was being a bit cold. But Zeus wasn't the type to be all smiles and friendly. Others had to earn his trust, or friendship. Which, by the way, was extremely hard.

( Sorry, crappy posts :/ )
it's been a long time since I've been here. perhaps I'll stay awhile.

"I won't be long," Robin told her, his tail swishing across the ground, "I'll be back in no time. Just hang on and... keep breathing." He watched her as she struggled up, then began to turn away. Her words made him pause, and he looked back at her with a smile. "You're welcome, even though I didn't really do anything. The tom tensed as Cleo licked his cheek, and he glanced away quickly. Clearing his throat, Robin spoke slightly awkwardly, "I-I better be going. Remember, shout if anyone comes in here. Don't worry, I won't be far away." Without looking back at her, the tom bounded out of the alley. Away from Cleo, and away from whatever stupid feeling he got whenever he was near her. What was wrong with him? What had happened to the days when he'd loved being on his own? Being on his own meant he was safe, there was no one to betray him. No one to save. So why was he still here? He could easily run and leave her. "It's her," Robin muttered aloud, shouting a wistful glance at the road winding out of the city, "It's Cleo, she's done something to my head." So, instead of following his head, and running as fast as he could in the opposite direction, the tom followed his heart, and padded resolutely towards the road crossing that would take him to the park, where he could find moss and water. For Cleo. "I'm so stupid." He muttered under his breath.

(Aww, I love Morde. :D Layla's already getting on Foxglove's nerves, haha. I wonder how long this allegiance will last...? x3)

"I don't remember ever saying that I thought you'd hurt him. I just thought you'd have somewhere important to be." Keeping her voice airy and sweet-sounding, Foxglove shot Layla one last well-disguised glare, before she turned her attention fully to Mordecai. Okay, so he looked a mess. More so than her, and she thought that was impossible. But other than that, he was exactly as she remembered him to be. Smiling wildly, the she-cat laughed quietly at his short, but informative, explanation. "Well, that explains the sick." She frowned in concern, "I better find you something to eat that won't make you throw up everywhere." At Layla's words Foxglove turned slightly to look at her, "Oh yes. Maybe so, ally. See you around." She didn't wait to watch her go, instead glancing back towards her old alley. "Uh, I think we'll find somewhere else to stay. No offence, but it stinks in there." Shooting him a grin, the she-cat poked his side teasingly with her nose before moving forwards, sidestepping the vomit. "Come on then. I guess we both have some catching up do to. You can fill me in with what you've been up to first, while we walk."

Mordecai looked warily at Layla. Why had she immediately figured that they were assuming she'd hurt him? He may be weak from being sick, but he was still able to fight. Indignantly, he snorted at the thought that he couldn't fight. Mordecai would fight perfectly well. He still had claws and teeth and could hurt others if needed. Reflexively, he unsheathed them an scraped the floor. At Foxglove's voice he looked up, and smiled again. "Yeah..." he muttered, "Sorry for stinking up your alley..." his tail twitched uncomfortably. "But let's go." He meowed, walking arond his vomit and following Foxglove. How to start...

Foxglove paused for a moment, letting out a breath. Layla had vanished, but she was still wary. She didn't trust her. At all. There was something strange about that cat. As she waited for Mordecai to catch up, the she-cat wondered why Layla had wanted them to become allies. Sure, she'd said it was because it'd be "a waste" for them to fight, but there had to be some hidden reason. Something that Foxglove had accidentally got herself wrapped up in. Shivering, she shook her head quickly. She'd deal with Layla when she had to. Maybe they wouldn't even cross paths again - it was a big city. She could just take Mordecai and-- no! This was her city as much as Layla's. If that little kitten got on her bad side, or tried anything with her - or Mordecai - then she'd deal with her, ally or not. Flicking her ear back towards Mordecai, Foxglove shrugged with a smile. "Don't worry about it. It won't take long to find somewhere new. Our top priority is getting you cleaned up first. And fed." After a slight pause, the she-cat set off at a brisk walk, "We'll just have to walk until we find something. Anyway, I think it might be best to get away from here." Shooting a swift glance around them, Foxglove concentrated on Mordecai again, "So, come on. Spill the beans. What have you been up to?"

Mordecai took a moment to think about Foxglove's question. What had he been doing? Honestly, he'd been moping around feeling sorry for himself. But it wasn't like he really wanted to admit to that. He didn't want Foxglove to think he'd done nothing, that he was nothing without her in his mind. Or did he? Would she like that? Or would she think he was weak and not want to be in his company anymore? Taking a deep breath, he answered, "Not much, really." He laughed a bit, "I ate and slept and hunted a little. Mostly, though, I hoped you'd pop up somewhere." He looked down at his paws sheepishly. "I missed you, y'know...I'd gotten used to your company and then you weren't there and I was alone. I thought I'd done something wrong." Silence. Mordecai laughed uncomfortably. "But enough about me, what have you been up to?"

Foxglove gazed around and she waited for Mordecai's reply, drinking in her surroundings. As much as she hated to admit it, she had missed the inner city. It was so loud, and busy, it was impossible for her to feel. She watched a couple of cats on the other side of the street. She'd missed that as well. Being able to see cats everywhere. I was stupid for ever running away. Foxglove told herself mentally. Suddenly realising that Mordecai had replied, the she-cat snapped back to the present. "Oh?" Smiling, she slowed at the attention of an alley, poking her head inside. "Urg, no way. I think someone's been using this one as their toilet." Backing away quickly and continuing down the pavement, Foxglove continued where she'd left off, "Well, at least you didn't get in any trouble." Her stride faltered at his next words, but then she laughed. "Sorry that I didn't. I missed you, as well. Sorry that I left. I guess everything got too much for me. But, it's weird, I can't actually remember what happened on that day." Furrowing her brow, Foxglove let out a sigh, "But of course you didn't do anything wrong. Whatever, it was, I probably caused it." Glancing away, the she-cat swallowed another laugh, "Me? Basically the same as you. Except a lot less sleeping. I stayed in some pretty bad places." Foxglove decided to leave out the minor detail of talking to rats. She figured that it wasn't important.

Reaching out with her front paws, Turtle dug them deep into the bark of the tree she had slept in the night before and scraped them towards her body. First both atthe same time, and then the left, and then the right. She had broken her claws the day before in a successful attempt to save her own hide from a human with an umbrella. She had nearly lost her whiskers, but luckily she had escaped in one piece. Now, though, she had to resharpen her claws. Sitting up, she extended them one at a time and tested them against her tongue. They would do; if she could find a couch or chair at the city dump, she could finish the job. Even though she had managed to get that nice cat- what was his name? Rage? Anyways, he had shared his meal with her, so she wasn't as starved as she could have been. That was a blessing, certainly, but she still had to eat on a daily basis, more or less. It was time to hunt, or scavenge. Anything to keep herself alive just another day.

Tuxedo Thomas was brave. He was tough. He was handsome- no, he was downright sexy. He had also found a scrap of broken mirror to admire himself in. Sidling up to his reflection, Thomas flicked his whiskers at it and twitched his full, lush tail. "Hey, gorgeous," he said with a wink. "Eat here often?" Scraping up a piece of chicken he had found- warm, with the bone still in- he tossed it from paw to paw and said, "Mind if Ah share your meal? Of course ya don't. Cause you're me, and mah belly's growling like a hound." Then he sat down with his back to the mirror, curling her tail around his paws as he leaned down to tear into his meal. Behind him and on either side were the high, high walls of the alley; anyone trying to steal from him would have to do so from where he could see them. Tuxedo Thomas wasn't half as stupid as he appeared and about twice as sly as everyone thought. He knew what he was doing, even if it seemed like he never did.

Mordecai peeked into the alley Foxglove had deemed unfit for living in for a second and wrinkled his nose in the disgust at the smell. The city wasn't exactly a wonderful smelling place, but some places just smelled so much worse than the others. Mordecai shook his head, trying to rid himself of the scent. Perking his ears, he listened to Foxglove's response. "It's funny, I really can't recall that day either." In fact, moredecai couldn't really recall why or how he and Foxglove had seperated at all. His stub of a tail twitch, which was basically the equivalent of lashing for him. "Bad places like where?" He asked, trying to seem polite by inquiring.

R a g e.

The large tom had slept soundly, confident he was out of harms reach. High above the groun, sleeping in one of the many stacked wooden crates discarded in the dead end 'alleyway'. He had found this place, in which he now called home, only two weeks ago. But he loved it. He is safe from any harm, or mostly anyways, and can easily hide in here. Now, he is awake. His eyes have grown acostomed to the darkness. He wonders what time it is. His belly growling, the hefty tom leaps down from his crate, making his way to the ground. Stretching, he begins to make his way out of the alley and towards hopefully some dumpsters. Although, he lets himself wish for a nice big rat. Mmm.....fat and juicy. Oh well, if none come along, he'll just have to deal with it. Hopefully he will find a few bits of steak or burger meat in a dumpster. That would probably help his sudden craving for meat, even if it wasn't freshly caught rat meat. SHaking his head, he keeps up a brisk pace, scenting the air every few moments for the smell of food or rat. No such luck yet. But he will continue on.
it's been a long time since I've been here. perhaps I'll stay awhile.
