Silverfang gripped the lump of fur in her mouth and carried it back to the bank with her. Once she had a good shake she bent her head down to examine the object she had fished out of the water. After a moment of sniffing and nosing Silverfang reeled backwards with and a shocked snort. It was the pup she had just buried, but there was heartbeat. Had Silverfang buried her own son alive. She sat down. Hard. Staring blankly at nothing with wide eyes.
