Sweetpaw glanced between Bramblingflower and Littlemoon. "What happened?" He repeated, as if stuck on a loop. It couldn't be a cat. Couldn't. No cat would, could leave wounds this horrible and gushing as if they had no respect for the dead. "What happened?"

Frozen in a state of shock and sadness, Bramblingflower didn't notice all the cats suddenly approaching. A voice interrupted her thoughts, and the young queen turned to face Sweetpaw. "I-!..." Her voice cracked, "I don't know." She whispered softly, her cheeks wet and glistening from her tears.

"It must have been a fox." His mew was definite as if he had convinced himself of the fact, "It can't have been a cat. Not cat would do this." But the words rang hollow to Sweetpaw's ears, their was no other scent but that of Riverclan's.
