Beartalon heard Flightpaw's thoughts loud and clear. The topmost whispers, or yowls would be more fitting, were panicked, frightened, and loud. So loud, in fact, that they did a good job of covering the next 'layer' of thoughts. Beartalon focused, and detected a faint layer of something, almost like calm. Doubt showed clearing in the large tom's face, but he went against his instinct and put his guard down. "Yes, I can help. I don't know about StarClan, though, but-" He cut off as the apprentice mentioned Raptorfang. "Stallioncry! I have to check on him! Let's talk later, okay?" Not bothering to set up a time, Beartalon raced off to the medicine den, ignoring the whispers around him.

Flightpaw went to speak but gave up; the tom had already gone. She lashed her tail and sat down to groom her ruffled fur.

Darkpaw trotted up to his denmate and sat beside her. "I'm sorry about Waspfur, it must have been awful to see him die like that." He leaned his head against her neck and helped groom her fur. He smiled at her appreciative purr.

Thorns stabbed Flightpaw's heart, guilt washed over her. She was lying to her bestfriend, her only friend.

Stallioncry wasn't in the medicine cat den. He was in the elder's den. His thin, weak frame was sat on the ground where Waspfur had died, he was inspecting the bloodied foam that had come from the elder's mouth as he died. He'd seen it before.

Beartalon popped his head in the medicine den, only to find his love was not in there. "Stallioncry?" He called into the den. After getting no answer, the large tom exited the den and started searching for his Clanmate, looking first in the Warriors' den. While he was searching, Beartalon caught a faint whisper from over by the elder's den. Cocking his head, the tom went over to see if Stallioncry was there.

Rowanpaw

Rowanpaw slowly stood up "nothing is helping me maybe I should go to Sparrowsong, i'm just feeling worse and worse." she plopped back down the pain was to powerful for her to even to stand.

FIERCESAND

"Okay, I'll call Sparrowsong," she said quietly, "Stay still."

Rowanpaw

"Thank you so much, Feircesand." Rowanpaw layered her head on the ground trying to rest herself while Feircesand went to get Sparrowsong.

FIERCESAND

She smiled warmly, "Anytime."
Fiercesand took it trotting, "Sparrowsong? I need your help with something."
She went around searching.

Stallioncry looked at the foam on the ground, his expression sad. He flicked his tail tip upon hearing his mate's arrival. With out looking up he meowed, "Have you ever wondered about the smallest grave in the graveyard?" in a hollow voice. His head was brimming with memories of a time long past. A small mousey brown she-cat with dark swirl tabby markings looked up with large amber eyes. He felt a soft pelt brush against him and looked down, hoping to see the kit but instead being confronted with emptiness.

Beartalon cocked his head, not quite understanding his mate's words. Inching closer, the large tom was hit with a wave of sadness and despair, which obviously came from Stallioncry. Wrapping himself around the other tom, Beartalon mewed softly, "Hey, it's okay. Come one, you still need to rest. I'll lay with you."

Stallioncry shook his head. "That grave, is my sister Dogkit. She died a death very much like Waspfur's. I remember this bloody foam." His face creased as thoughts raced in his mind a jumble of images, words and voices. "The medicine cat, said that Dogkit had been poisoned," he meowed gravely as he turned to Beartalon. "Waspfur was murdered."

"But the only cat that was there was Flightpaw!" Beartalon whispered, suddenly remembering something. "He pretended to cry and mourn, but he really wasn't sad at all, Stallioncry. You won't believe me if I told you how I know, but he was actually happy that Waspfur was dead! Should we tell Redstar?" The large tom asked urgently.
