The spring rains had Earthstar excited for foraging- the forests would have plenty of mushrooms, and many plants would flower and set seed. Many of the plants that were edible were coming out as well, but it would be a while before fruits would show. Her den was firmly under an old tree, hollowed with age. The roots sprung up mushrooms this time of year, and Earthstar was more than happy to observe them, running a mental checklist against poisonous ones.

Today, she was going to take some of the older mushrooms to Bramblethorn's den, the fungi having had enough time to spread spores already. The ruffled, giant masses of the mushroom were easy enough to pick for Earthstar, but carrying it required her to nose it between her wings, where she could hold it on her back as she padded down, poking her head into the medicine den.

"Oh, good morn!" She chirped, ears perking up when she spotted Poppytail before Bramblethorn, "Have you seen Bramble this morning? I've a' gift!"

There must be something going about, since Jaggedshadow had trouble sleeping the past few nights. It was frustrating them to no end. The night was filled with spring peepers, though, and they passed the night away leaping into spring ponds, trying to catch a few. They were plentiful, and he didn't go hungry, by any means, but the frogs simply were small morsels. Not a substantial meal,
and they had no way of bringing more than a few back.

Oh well. Jaggedshadow simply crept back to the dens, hoping an early riser didn't catch him skulking back from his sleepless night.

Cloudpaw was... a late riser. The darkness of the caves obscured what the actual time was very well, making the sky blue Kal... prone to oversleeping. And, lo and behold, that was exactly what he was doing right now- happily snoozing the morning away, and unknowingly being remiss in his duties as a warrior.

Morning! Firespeck slowly woke up, making a small noise, half of contentment, and half annoyance. His nest was soft, but he had things to do, prey to hunt, and most importantly, scrounge around for some food. For now, he was content to sniff around the dens and camp, tying to pick up the scent of a fresh kill, or an old one, just something to sate his early-morning hunger.

The apprentice was darting through camp, making soft whines as she tried, in vain, to find her mentor. Every time she saw another Kal, though, Sunflick would go still, looking at them to see if they were Bramblethorn, yet none really had the wings she came to recognize him with.

coldgaze had been up much longer then the rest of his clan. his paws were carefully wrapping small stalks of lemongrass around bundles of lavendor, and hanged him carefully within the medicine den. the scent of herbs and grass filled his nostrils , and tinges of his clan's kalons stired - he assumed they were just getting up. he saw one of his apprentices, nettlestorm discuss things with batfang. he nodded approvingly - she already knew what neede to be done. he had made her an offical medicine kal , and she had gained her warrior name. on the other hand, he still had cloudpaw - who was still learning. it was strange to have two medicine cats, but it was helpful as there were always wars. he saw cloudpaw still asleep and hissed him awake. "Wake up !" cloudgaze was this close to leaving a knick in the young kals' ears. " Go and catch up with Nettlestorm, I'm sure you'll learn a thing or two from her." He eyed the apprentice until he disappeared from his site, and soon enough coldgaze was backing to drying the herbs he needed to later smash into powder.

heavypaw was up and rising ! he felt the cool air drift into his den and shot up - already a bundle of energy. "Oooh what will happen today ! i hope we go visit the border or maybe we'll practice some more fighting skills ! One day, I can't wait to tear into one of the Lightclan pelts! " heavypaw purred triumphtly, showing of his still kit like claws that had slowly started to harden due to intense training. Little did he know he was stepping on Sagepaw's tail and flinched backwards. "S-sorry sagepaw ! Um, let's head out to meet our mentors ! " Heavypaw quickly made his way out before he could get a lashing from sagepaw. He got a glimpse of morningstar and raised up to greet him. "Hi Morningstar ! Any trouble near any of the borders - you can count on me ! I'll show them what a real Shineclan warrior can do. " Heavystep tried his best to imitate a perfect fighting stance, but his inexperience showed through, almost falling over.

Shallowpaw's icy cold glare shot at Earthstar. Whether or not this kalon was leader of the clan meant nothing to Shallowpaw in this moment - her plan of spooking Poppytail awake, and thus pulling the greatest prank Lightclan had ever seen, was ruined. She gave a light, warning hiss before sitting down, tail flicking irritably as she waited for Poppytail to wake up less amusingly, "Good morning," she huffed at Earthstar.

Sagepaw squeaked in surprise as heavypaws, well, heavy paws smashed into his stubby tail. The brown Kal pulled himself awake and fixed his fur as heavypaw ran out. Sagepaw slowly crept up on his fellow apprentice, not especially caring that their leader was right in front of him. Sagepaw leaped, his large poofy paws heading straight for Heavypaw's back. "Suprise attack!!" He mewled in excitement.

Poppytail slowly opened their left eye, towards Earthstar,
and gave her a wink. Then they lurched forward towards their apprentice, using her fullbody weight to try to push Shallowpaw down.
"always got to be on your toes little warrior!" She purred. Poppytail wasn't given apprentices very often, since they tended to treat their apprentices very gently and rarely was strict. While the apprentices might appreciate a nice mentor, having the person supposed to teach you treat you a bit like a playmate didn't always lend to learning everything you should.

"I'm doing rather well this morning", he replied padding a bit slower. "I was never morning kalon but it's all in a days work.", he added. Dovefern caught wind of her father and took the chance to practice her stalking. As he and Pinefur padded along talking, she stalked behind waiting for the chance to pounce.
"Get off their tails, Dovefern!", yelled Nightpelt who was watching from the side the medicine den. In his old age, he visited so often he might as well move in.
"You're no fun!", exclaimed Doverfern upset over her missed kill. Bramblethorn came to a halt and turned to see her.
"Dear, you're acting as if you're still a kit.", he laughed, shaking his head, while heading over to treat Nightpelt.

As he entered, Dovefern close behind, he noticed the small leader.
"I'm right here, Earthstar.", he simpered at her. "Correct me if i'm wrong but, did I hear you've got a gift?", he asked, nervous as always.
He scanned the den to find Shallowpaw bothering her mentor but paid little attention to it.
"Hello again, Shallowpaw.", he greated.
"Son, sit up straight. You're speaking to your leader.", smirked Nightpelt, now laying near the entrance, with a small laugh. He gave him a small push and Bramblethorn did as he said.

Mousespot [ShineClan, She/Her, Queen]

Mousespot stretched as she awoke. She'd accidentally fell asleep in a tree and was caught of guard once the realization hit her. It was a shame no one noticed her absence, then again it was normal for her to lay in trees all night so nothing out of the ordinary. She swiftly climbed down and returned to camp. It was surely alive. She padded around, simply waiting for her next orders.

Even if Shallowpaw wouldn't admit it aloud, Poppytail was the exact type of mentor she needed. Not very gentle, yet not as jaded and snarky as the apprentice. It was a duo that seemed to work. Giving a surprised squeak, tiny paws went flailing as Shallowpaw landed backwards, giving Poppytail the rare smile. She jumped to her paws and batted playfully at Poppytail, "Maybe if you were awake more often you could have taught me that," she smirked.

Pinefur couldn't help but chuckle at the mischevious antics of Dovefern, wondering how it would have gone if she hadn't been called out. Choosing to continue walking alongside Bramblethorn, however, he ducked into the medicine den and gave a polite smile and respectful nod to Earthstar. He was rather displeased to see that Shallowpaw seemed much less respectful, in the situation she was in, but he chose to allow Poppytail to address that if she so wished. For now, he waited quietly, hoping to get some sort of direction or instruction. Pinefur felt it would be much too awkward to leave now.

The winged kalon closed his eyes in thought for a moment, before shaking his head.
"No, I believe food is our most pressing matter at the moment. Thank you, Ravensong." He chirped warmly, before turning to the apprentice bounding towards him. He let out a little laugh.
"No border trouble today, Heavypaw, but perhaps you and Sagepaw could see if your mentors would like to take you with Ravensong on a gathering patrol?" He suggested, speaking loudly so they would hear him over the fight.

The flop-eared kalon gave a nod to Bramblethorn as he greeted them, before dipping his head respectfully to Adderjaw and turning to poke his head in the medicine den. He nearly laughed at the sight he saw. Poppyfern and Shallowpaw were a good mentor and apprentice pair. Though, with so many kalons arriving, it was starting to get crowded in here.
"Hey, we should get going. It's not too fun, but it's true. We're on foraging duty. C'mon, we can grab something to eat as we walk."

The dark tom's ears flicked back towards the voice of his clanmate, and he looked up at her. He dipped his head respectfully at Nettlestorm's request.
"It would be my pleasure." He chirps, his voice quiet so as not to disturb their clanmates. He holds back a purr of laughter at seeing Cloudpaw's rude awakening. The apprentice had been named after the clan, and still he seemed like such a kit. Though, such antics are to be expected from such a young apprentice.
"We'll keep a close eye on him Coldgaze." He promised.

"Thank you." Nettlestorm purred. Batfang was one of the few members of the clan that didn't get on her nerves. Cloudpaw on the other hand... Nettlestorm turned to watch Coldgaze shake the sky colored kal awake and send him off towards the two.
"Well. C'mon then." Nettlestorm flicked her head for Cloudpaw to follow.

"Yeah!!" Sagepaw chirped, pushing heavypaw's face away.
Gathering patrols were his favorite, even if he couldn't eat what they found until it was brought back. Sagepaw thought it was a dumb rule, but being scolded by his mentor multiple times helped keep him from chowing down on what they found.

"Hey now you little rapscallion! I was nearly swallowed by the jaws of the hungry bramble trying to provide for my clan! I could have died! And who's fault was that?" Poppytail paused for a moment, remembering that she only fell in after telling shallowpaw to 'watch these sick moves' and tried to jump over the massive bramble bush to get to some juicy looking berries.
"actually, don't answer that." Poppytail's injuries stung slightly, likely because she just rapidly stretched them all to surprise her apprentice. She turned towards blazeheart and nodded.
"as much as I'd love to bother bramblethorn all day, I guess we do have duties to get back to. " Poppytail headed out of the den,
and waited for the others.

Adderjaw watched with mild amusement as half the clan jammed themselves in the medicine kal den. Adderjaw respected and looked up to their clan leader, but found it humorous that she chose someone so different to be her deputy. He assigned a few warriors to patrol duty. Yesterday he had a polite conversation over the shineclan border with one of their patrols, and was informed that they found fox scent nearby. Hopefully the creature would just be passing through, but either way it would be nice to know where it was exactly.

He looked around the camp for a moment before frowning and stepping into the medicine den. He wanted to go ask Bramblethorn if he needed to go collect some more herbs or organize things, but didn't want to be a bother. Maybe he could look over the herbs and see how much he remembered about them.
