The pale brown/gray tom padded up to the rest of the patrol cats with Sun.

Fox wrinkled his nose in concentration, thinking hard. That was one of the ones he always forgot...! Quietly and a bit unsure, he answered, "Fevers...colds...and toothache?"

The pale gray and white tabby chuckled, and answered. "Nice try, but no. Yarrow is used to make a cat vomit, and get rid of anything like bad prey."

Fox gave a disappointed sigh, but it only lasted momentarily. He really was still new, and Rain was always very patient in teaching him! "Oh, I see...! Which one was I thinking of?" he asked, eyes wide and full of curiousity. This was good! He was learning!

"Alder bark for toothaches, lavender for fevers, and a poultice of lavender, catmint, and feverfew for colds, but my mentor always taught me that they were called chills." The pale gray and white tabby replied.

Fox listened closely, getting a bit sheepish as he realized just how terribly off he was... He had tried, right? And was still learning! That's what was of importance! "Oh, I see.." he muttered, "How long did it take you to remember everything?" he asked, curiosity overcoming him again.

Tempest decided that they had enough cats to set off towards the isthmus. His plan was to head there first and then work their way around the lake's outer rim along the tree line. "Everyone ready?" he commented briefly, giving everyone a chance to make their way over if they wished to tag along. Once it was all settled, he rose to his paws and started heading south. The entrance into the peninsula was not too far thankfully, seeing the thin stretch of land off in the distance with ocean water threatening to swallow it up completely. At the mouth of the isthmus, where it opened up on the island the tribe lived on, anything the tribe could find to barricade the opening was present -- small, fallen palm trees, brambles, sticks and movable branches, and much more. It was to keep anyone from easily making the trip onto the island from the mainland during low tide. They would at least have to fight through the barrier first.
"It looks like it's holding up." Tempest stated partially to himself, squinting in an attempt to get a better view of the landmass in the distance. The sun reflecting off the ocean made it difficult this time of day.

"A very long time, I'll tell you that. Wren, my mentor, would always test me on the uses for herbs, and if I got them wrong, I would have to practice with my brother. And he was not always the softie he is today." The pale gray and white tabby she-cat shivered slightly, remembering how violently Rumble had trained when he was younger.

Fox was glad that Rain was much gentler with him, and he gave a slight shudder at the thought of what life might be like if his mentor wasn't as kind. Noticing Rain shiver, Fox gave another gentle, worried forehead bump. It was hard to imagine Rumble being any different than he was now..!

Moon bounced gleefully back towards the nursery, tail sticking straight up in the air with joy seemingly emanating off of her tiny body. She was all better now and no one knew of her little crab accident. The she-kit was determined to get the crab next time now that she knew not to bite at them directly. Her small head poked in through the doorway of the nursery, feeling the warm air buffet her fur to her own enjoyment. The wind coming off the ocean usually kept the warm temperatures to a minimum, but the nursery was always kept a bit warmer for the nursing queens.
The first cat she happened to see was Night. "Hi! How are you feeling? I'm so exited. I can't wait to have littermates to play with!"
