"Fine." With a lash of his tail, Graywater turned and began to stalk away. His claws sank in and out of the ground as he did so.

Kestrelfire had managed to track down Snowfeather, but decided against approaching her when she sent Graywater away; she was obviously fine on her own. Returning to camp only a few minutes later, the air coated in the easily recognized scent of Stormclan cats. Gazing around the clearing he noticed his clanmates were also aware of the scent. Shaking out his pelt, he settled down near the camp entrance, watching carefully for signs of anything unusual.

Thistlepaw had tried her best to catch the squirrel that Sandpelt had spotted, but she jumped too soon and it scurried across the floor and up a tree several fox-lengths away. Choosing to leave it be, she returned to where the patrol had been but found no other cats, just the strong scent of Stormclan. Unsure of where they had gone, Thistlepaw turned back towards the large oak and leapt up it with ease; digging her claws into a sturdy lower branch.

"Hello, Kestrelfire." Foxcloud approached the deputy, tail flicking joyfully. The calico seated herself near him, watching his movements as he settled himself near the entrance. "Anything new in the life of our deputy?"

"Foxcloud," Kestrelfire dipped his head in greeting and gave the calico a light smile. Purring with amusement at her question, he turned to face her while still keeping one eye on the camp entrance. "Nothing that isn't new to the rest of the clan." The red tom curled his tail around his paws, "Might I ask you the same?"

"I can say the same," Foxcloud said, a small sigh escaping her. "Things around her...they're rather mundane, aren't they?"

"I'd have to say I believe they won't be for much longer," Kestrelfire meowed; returning his gaze to the trees outside of camp. The fur along his spine bristled before hastily smoothing back.

"Oh?" Her head fell to the side and a questioning look replaced the contented one formerly there. "And why is that, hm?"

Snowfeather stood up, now that her moment was unsettled she thought it would be best to head back to camp. She paused, swinging her head from the left, to the right. i think I can remember the way back from here... she thought, starting off in one direction, her injured leg mobile now, but painful.
