Hauntingjay woke with a yawn, stretching. He heard Pinestar speaking out in the clearing, prodding his sister awake. Hawkthorn whined but woke. With an unsaid reason that they both understood, the two got up and walked into the open together.

Crowpaw woke and stretched. He trotted out of the den and looked up at Pinestar with a tilted head.

Pinestar

Pinestar spotted Hauntingjay and Hawkthorn and swiveled his head towards their direction. "Hauntingjay, you will join me on broder patrol. Hawkthorn, you will lead a hunting patrol and take Crowpaw. You may take other cats with you."

Hearing Pinestar say they would go on a patrol together, her heart swelled up in happiness. "I'm ready!"

Hauntingjay purred, "Alright, Pinestar!"
Hawkthorn nodded and sat, thinking up who else could tag along.

"Eh?? Going on a patrol without my mentor?" Crowpaw asked in a questioning tone. "Why?"
"Hush, Crowpaw, just do as told," Hawkthorn said to the apprentice, who quickly shut his mouth.

Pinestar

"I want you to experience hunting with other cats, Crowpaw,"he responded to the young black tom. Pinestar turned to the other cats. "And Silvershine, you will join on the hunting patrol. Icepaw can come along on my broder patrol if he likes." He leaped off the highrock and turned tot he camp entrance, signalling to his patrol to gather.

Silvershine

Silvershine padded towards Hawkthorn and Crowpaw. "Hi!" She greeted.

Icepaw

Icepaw got up and trotted towards Pinestar and Snowpelt.

"See you later," Hauntingjay mewed to his sister, Hawkthorn nodding. He padded over to Pinestar.

Hawkthorn looked at Silvershin, meowing, "Hello," and looking at Crowpaw, who was kind of zoning out. "Crowpaw," she hissed slightly, poking him. Crowpaw squeaked and jumped. "O-oh! Uh, yeah?"

Silvershine

She smiled. "Let's get going,"she meowed.

Pinestar

Pinestar headed out the entrance, taking the lead.

Icepaw

He scampered after Pinestar and looked around.

Snowpelt followed silently, padding along side Icepaw and Pinestar. "Which part of the territory are we going to again?"

"Were going to White Woods,"he replied. "I want to see if any rogues have passed."

Hauntingjay bounded after the others, the half-blind tom bumping into Pinestar in his hurrying, causing him to fall back and blink in surprise. "Oh! Sorry, Pinestar!"

"Yeah, let's get going," she mewed. Hawkthorn limped to the exit of the camp, Crowpaw trotting after.
