Speckledstar blinks his eyes open from a nice, peaceful sleep. He looks around, seeing Heatherblossom asleep in her nest, and decides to let her rest. He paws the cobwebs off his head, and pulls the ones of his shoulder with his teeth, seeing a scabbish-scar where the cut had been. He pads over to a pool of water to see his face, and a few claw-marks cover his right eye. He sighs, but just ignores it, glad to be able to walk again. He pads out of the den, leaping onto the Highledge. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here below the Highledge for a clan meeting!" He yowls across the clearing.

Heatherblossom's ears perk and she lifts her head from a light rest. She pulls herself to her paws, hearing her father's call and pads out of the den, but gently nudges Harvestpaw before she leaves. "Come, Its another clan meeting. We shouldn't miss it. It could be important." She mews, care filling her voice.

Blackhawk lifts his head, perking his ears. "May I come?" He mews, looking up at his sister.

"If you think you can." She mews, warning him about his neck.

"I can." he mews, easily pulling himself to his paws and follows his sister out to the clearing, sitting beside her.

Icewing rolls over and sighs. "I'll stay here, my ribs still hurt..." She moans.

"I'll come to replace the herbs after the meeting." Heatherblossom mews to Icewing, sitting down beside Blackhawk.

Riverpaw stretches and pads out of the apprentice den, padding out into the clearing.

Speckledstar nods to his son, flicking his tail as a signal to come up.

Riverpaw gasps and smiles happily, leaping up beside his father.

Tallpaw >> I sighed and walked over to the high rock, sitting myself as far away from the other
apprentices as possible. I didn't want to deal with any of them at the moment.


Littlesong >> I eagerly padded to the high rock, and sat below it. The new deputy may be announced! Oh,
I hope to Starclan that he picks the right cat! I thought, my eyes dancing with joy. This could be it. The one
moment all the clan was waiting for.

D R E A M P A W heard the sound of Specklestar's voice carry off to where she was. "A Clan meeting!" she yelped, hurrying towards camp. "Oh, StarClan help me not to be late again!" Finally, after what seemed like forever, Dreampaw burst into camp, panting heavily. "I'm here!" she howled, not thinking. A few cats turned to stare at her of the way to Highledge. Dreampaw felt her cheeks burn and she made her way to an isolated area hidden under a rock to watch the meeting. Please stop looking at me...

Appledawn >> She flicked her ears and padded into the clearing and sat beside her siblings, her optics wide. This could mean Riverpaw's ceremony! Or maybe even the deputy ceremony?.. She nodded to SilentStep as she sat down.

SilentStep >> She padded over to Appledawn and sat beside her friend, curling her silver tail over her gray paws. Her blue optics wide and focused.

DawnStripe >> She yawned and awoke from her slumber, and stretched her white pelt. She padded out in the clearing and Sat Beside Frostfeather with another huge yawn.

FrostFeather >> He sat down beside Icewing and nodded to her, and nodded to Dawnstripe as to say 'Greetings.'

Specledstar smiles to his son. "I, Speckledstar, leader of IceClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn." He begins, knowing Riverpaw is ready. "Riverpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" He mews, tilting his head slightly.

"I do." Riverpaw mews proudly, his head held high.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Riverpaw, from this moment you will be known as Riverstorm. StarClan honors your Wisdom and Strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of IceClan." Speckledstar announces happily, smiling. "Tonight, you shall sit vigil and protect the clan." He nods to his son, dismissing him to sit down, and turns back to the clan.

"Riverstorm! Riverstorm! Riverstorm!" Blackhawk and Heatherblossom cheer in unison, Blackhawk purring and Heatherblossom's eyes filled with happiness.

"Now, I know most of you are expecting one more announcement." He mews, beginning to tremble. "I haven't made my choice yet," He admits. "But I promise to make one before Moonhigh." He vows, nodding to his clan. "Any questions?"

Appledawn cheers in delight for her brother. "Riverstorm, Riverstorm, Riverstorm!" She cheers, standing up happily.

Silentstep follows Appledawn, saying the same in unison. "Riverstorm, Riverstorm!" She yowled.

Dawnstripe smiled and yowled happily for the new warrior, "Riverstorm, Riverstorm!" She cheered.

Frostfeather called out with the others happily; "Riverstorm, Riverstorm!" He cheered.

Riverstorm smiles and purrs happily as his siblings and friends cheer for him, though he knows by code he must be silent. He nods a thanks to them all, then sits down beside Blackhawk.

D R E A M P A W, forgetting all about her grudge with Riverstorm, called out his name as loud as she could, hopping up and down on the tips of her paws. She squeezed through the groups of cheering cats to confront her old friend. "I'm sorry, Riverstorm. I know I was acting like a mousebrain earlier and you were sticking up for me. Can-can you forgive me?" she asked, lowering her gaze to stare at her paws. "I hope I'll be as wise as you someday, you're really...ahem...you're an amazing cat," Dreampaw muttered, looking back up at him through pained eyes.

Riverstorm gives Dreampaw an eased, forgiving gaze. She smiles and nods to her, as if to forgive her, though he cannot speak because of the vigil.
