Finding the Sun (Canine RP)

Ley stood perfectly still and silent, her ears pricked straight up and rotating to catch the slightest sounds. The call for help reached her ears and she was off in a flash, her long legs carrying her over fallen tree branches and holes made by rabbits and mice. As she approached the scene, figures appeared before her, wolves and a bear. Ley skidded to a stop beside Luna and Ayet, her lips curling up to show her sharp teeth and her ears lay flat on her skull. "Back off!" Ley snarled.

((I had a post for Navajo but I couldn't use it because Ayet moved. I'll post for Navi soon though))

Toko heard Ayet's voice, and scented the rest of his pack in the area. He dashed to the source and found a few pack members circling a demon bear. He snarled, baring his teeth as he advanced towards the demon. The small healer, Haru lay in front of it, and Toko assumed he was the one in peril. The beta male backed off when he saw that everything was under control, and he stood beside Ayet, waiting to see what they'd do. Under his breath he said to his friend, "That was a fast way to get the pack together."

August danced with the green snake in front of her. Dodging it's moves as she geared to attack. Stepping left, then right, she avoiding it's deadly, poisonous, long fangs and finally managed to get behind it. Grabbing its neck, August snapped the snake, a foul, black substance emerging from the wound. The fighter backed away, spitting it's blood out. She looked up at the sky, wondering whether Sun would ever rule it again. She turned away from the snake and kicked dirt up over it before trotting away, thinking she heard another wolf nearby.

A blur or tan and silvery black wized past Ayet and he knew that River had heard the sounds of the battle, and had come to join in. The demon bear wailed it's head side to size trying to shake Luna lose from it's nose. "Let's give it something else to think about!" River thought to her self as she jumped on to the demons back digging her claws into skin and biting down with all of her force. The demon bear roared in shock and pain from it's new attacker and turned its attention away from Luna. The beast clawed at River with it's long razor claws slicing into Rivers hip. "Now is my chance to end this demons life." Luna though as she went for the kill biting down onto the creatures throat while she dug her claws in. The beast realizing what just happened tried to claw at Luna but she was faster than it. The demon began to move slower as Luna squeezed it's life from it's throat. Within moments the bear was down on the ground and dead.

Ayet ran up to battle scene where Luna and River where looking over Haru. "Quick we need a healer! Haru is hurt!" River howled out not thinking of her own wounds.

(Do they get sick from ingesting demon blood? Demon blood could have side effects like weaken them, or if they are wounder really bad they might become a demon themselves. Just though I might ask to add more to the story what do you think?)

Haru gasped in relief as his pack members came to him. He trembled a little, he was a new healer, so he had no idea what the answer to Ayet's question was. "I-I don't know." he stuttered. He forced himself to his feet and stood shaking in fear, standing by in case the others needed any help.

Myst's ears pricked at the sound of another wolf. He paused and sniffed the air. August? Yes, it had to be. He leaped out from where he had been hiding in a dense hawthorn bush. "August." he barked in relief. "Where are the others?" he heard the faint sounds of battling off in the distance.

"Myst?" August replied, stepping closer to him, and sighing in relief when she recognized his huge, shaggy form. "I have no idea where the others are," she replied, "There are more demons than usual tonight... Let's go join the pack and see if they need help." The reddish wolf was already trotting off towards the others, flexing her claws as she ran, ready for another fight.

Myst nodded to August and caught up with her with a few powerful strides. His nose twitched and his ears were pricked forward attentively. "Demons..." he spat. "Death has gone too far this time." he snarled, looking up at the empty sky as he ran beside August. His heart twisted in resentment towards the evil spirit.

[[ Maybe... Hmm I'll have to think about that. I like the idea of it somewhat turning them into demons themselves; that would be kinda neat. What do the rest of you guys think? Any other ideas of side-effects? ]]

Ayet nodded, looking over at the dead bear. He wrinkled his nose; it smelt of rotting corpses, of course tainted by the unexplainable smell of the black blood that demons possessed. "Good job, Luna, River, Toko, Ley. One less demon to deal with." He looked down at it, frowning. This was no special demon; it was weak compared to the ones Death had actually chosen to name. Those had to be killed in other, more difficult ways. Decapitating it, drenching it in water; even sunlight. Ayet hoped they would not run into a demon that could only be killed by Sun's light; that would be most difficult.

"Still, we have a long way to go before we will find Death's lair. The legends say it is deep within the Earth. Where would one find a place like that?" The alpha male asked, looking around him. He was starting to think they should get moving, and find another place to set up camp. This area was infested with demons...
