Ferret woke up with a jolt. She staggered towards the two cats who had chased off the fox and looked up at them. "Thanks," she mumbled. "I owe you."

Crookedtail dipped his head to Mousepaw and padded towards the kit, his paw bleeding a little bit. He nudged the kit, "It's no problem." He smiled, " No, you don't owe us anything. Protecting clanmates is part of being in a clan. " He sighed, flicking his awkward tail at the kit.

With an irritated snort, Hawkclaw stormed away from his sister and met face to face with Crookedtail

The slim silver she-apprentice flicked her tail against her shoulder in irritation. "Where's Crookedtail?" she murmured. "We're supposed to be training!" Letting a tired growl slip from her lips, she sniffed along his scent. Suddenly her ears perked and her eyes grew wide with fear. She had never met a fox before, but the warriors back at camp had often described the disgusting smell, worse than a rogue's tangy smell. This had to be it. And Crookedtail's scent mingled right into the scent trail! She took a leap and began to run across the forest.

By the time he had arrived at the clearing where Mousepaw and Crookedtail were, she could see there was no danger. The fox had probably left, but she noticed a few scratches on Mousepaw. Tipping her head to one side, her eyes grew wide. "There was a fox, wasn't there?" It was a rhetorical question. Of course there was a fox! Sighing she turned to Mousepaw. "Are you all right? Maybe you should go to the medicine den just in case. I mean, Appleleaf and Shiverwhisker will want to make sure you're all right. Because of the fox and all. Your mother's going to be worried!" she said sharply, although secretly she really could care less. The apprentice could die for all she cared. It was way too crowded in SunClan. If one apprentice died, it would be more room for her.

"And Crookedtail," she said, actually angry now, "We were supposed to be training! I've been an apprentice for about 7 sunrises now and I haven't learned anything!" Frisking her tail about, she narrowed her eyes and focused all her hate into them. She was furious. How was she supposed to learn how to hunt? What about fighting?

Crookedtail held in a snarl as the young tom turned to face him, baring his teeth. "After all that everyone has been through, you are going to leave your clan?" He remarked in a frustrated tone, his tail swishing. He didn't bother to wait for an answer, and he padded calmly over to his apprentice, who had grown noticeably in size. " My apologies Silverpaw. Haven't been quite myself lately. " He licked at the small bite on his forepaw, and then looked down at her, " Would you like to start your training now? I know we'll be behind most apprentices, but if you are willing to learn, we can catch up quickly." He suggested softly, nudging her. He had been lacking as of late. He looked into his apprentices eyes, smiling.

Silverpaw would have denied it, but her eyes shone. "Of course!" They were bright, but then she wheeled around to face Hawkclaw. "What, are you angry that Mousepaw was nearly killed by a fox and that Crookedtail helped her? Or are you two feuding over prey or something?" Her eyes were angry--she could tell Hawkclaw was not approving of SunClan. "Or do you want to split up the Clans? Wouldn't that be something. One warrior against what, fifty?" No, more than fifty. But she wasn't sure, and underestimating was better than overestimating.

"Silverpaw," He muttered, his voice just barely audible for her to hear, " mind your manners. While he may not support us, he is a clan-mate and they are to receive respect." He flicked his tail against her ear calmly. " Shall we head out then, to learn some hunting moves?" He asked, his tone light.

Silverpaw shrugged. Okay then. She dropped her voice an octave. "although, mind, if he doesn't like this Clan, he should just leave already. what's holding him?" she shrugged again before coming to her conclusion. "I think that Gingerpaw doesn't want to leave and that he's attached to his sister," she declared, although she was careful not to let Hawkclaw here. She was still an apprentice. He could probably tear her to pieces.
