Sweetnose - Tom - Elder

Sweetnose's heart jerked. He wished he had gone on his own, that Houndpaw hadn't come. He wished he could have saved the apprentice the pain of seeing his leader dead- actually he wished, rather selfishly, that he hadn't hadn't come either. Dimly around the other scents lay the lime of Rainpaw, and as he inched his way closer to the edge of the cliff he saw where the trail led. Rainpaw lay sodden, caught on a rock in the river beneath the cliff. Maybe she was still..? No. She was dead. Rosestar was dead. And something was very, very wrong. But he couldn't let that consume him. "H-houndpaw. I-I need you to go find a few warriors and bring them here."

Breezestream walked to the crowd of cats and wished she could stop the evil murderer. She didn't like the fact that cats were killing their own species, much less killing their own peers. "I.. I'll make th-the burial herbs r..ready." She said, her voice shaking. Why? Why would anyone kill their own leader? Why is this happening? WHY?? She didn't understand why anybody would kill anyone else, as a peace loving medicine cat.

Houndpaw shook his head viciously. "No, no no! We have to find Rainpaw first! I need to find Rainpaw!" As he was saying this, he approached Sweetnose, looking down where the tom was staring. His voice fell away, his throat closing up. Houndpaw couldn't speak. All he could do was stare along the still-wet fur of his best friend. His breathing stopped. And then he inhaled. "Rainpaw, hold on! I'm coming down to get you! Just stay there!" Was that the wind brushing her fur, or was it a movement of her chest? The tom leaned forewards against the cliff face, his paws hanging down as he tried to pick a path down to Rainpaw. "No! You don't need burial herbs! She's breathing, see?!" Houndpaw snapped at Breezestream, not taking his eyes off of his goal. But it was too steep. The tom growled loudly, a deep, gutteral, animalistic noise. "We need more cats to get her out! She needs help, Sweetnose!"

[breezey]

"Umm... Houndpaw... I errr.. was talking about Rosestar."

[eltonn]

"Oh, right, yes! Get the herbs for her, please. But not Rainpaw- we have to get her out!" Houndpaw was too distracted on 'helping' Rainpaw out of her predicament to actually think about what he was saying.

Sweetnose - Tom - Elder

The elder was panicking, how could he not seeing Houndpaw so close to the cliff's edge? "Houndpaw no! You can't help her like this. Even if she was alive..." Sweetnose stretched forwards, snapping his jaws around empty air as he tried to reach for the apprentice's scruff. He was too far. The tom stepped forwards, each step a little too frantic, a little too careless. "Houndpaw-" Jaws grasped fur. Jarring colors flashed across his vision. Paws stepped a little to close to the edge. And suddenly there was no ground beneath the elder. Just emptiness and the weight of Houndpaw as they fell down down down.

(These two aren't dead- preplanned yall!)

"Ok then." Breezestream said, realizing how important Houndpawe thought it was to 'save' Rainpaw, dead or not.

Houndpaw had almost reached Rainpaw in his mind when Sweetnose bumped him, causing him to lose his balance. "Wha-!" Houndpaw flung his legs frantically as he slipped down the cliffside with Sweetnose below him. He reached out, trying to grab Rainpaw as he fell, but couldn't. A yelp tore from his throat as he hit the cold water. A splash told him Sweet was also in the river with him. No! We can't drown! I have to get Rainpaw! The tom paddled as strong as he could, trying to keep his head above the water and keep Sweetnose in his view at the same time.

ThornFang had heard what had happened, and he felt sick. It felt like the world was falling apart. Why would anyone do this?
Why would they kill their leader..? And her daughter? He shook. He looked around for anyone to help him, to calm him down, but no one was there.
