Blackstar growled once more, resisting the urge to slash the grey tom across the face. All his fur was bristling now, and he struggled to keep still.
"Stormstar will join you when she has chosen her warriors. Be patient, rogue, before I do something I will not regret." He put speial emphasis on the word 'rogue', showing Echostorm exactly how much he was valued in the Clan, and reminding him that he was not part of BrightClan.

[Africa.]

Sandfall glanced over at Owlspirit, her own anxiety reflected in his gaze. Heads pressed close, the two padded forward together, bracing against whatever came next. They'd been through so much together, like brother and sister after all these years. "We're going to make it through this, Sandfall." And together, they stepped forward to take on the future.

Stormstars eyes narrowed, inwardly strangling the growl that fought to rise from her throat. Did Blackstar honestly think that he was going at any faster of a pace than she was. She bared her teeth in a silent snarl once the dark tom was paying attention to Echostorm and had his back to her, sharp fangs glinting in the dim light. He was lucky he was in his own camp and hers was destroyed.
"Roseclaw, Jayfire, Whitebirch, Goldenfire!" She called over her shoulder, watching the cats shift to allow the patrol to step forward. Whitebirch and Goldenfire stepped forward from the front, their tails twined together. The leader felt a slight pang of guilt for a moment, knowing that if anything happened to either sibling, the other would be crushed. But she also knew that Goldenfires name suited him well; he had a fire inside him that never stood down from a fight. He could not be kept from this or any fight, and Whitebirch would not be kept in camp while her brother risked his life.
Jayfire and Roseclaw followed quickly after, all four cats pulling up at her side. Together, they walked forward to meet the Brightclan patrol, Stormstar taking her place at her sons side and the four warriors molding in with the brightclan cats. "We're ready, sorry it took us so long." She fought to keep the bitter sarcasm from her voice, instead speaking through carefully gritted teeth as to not start anything.

Blackstar turned around, away from Echostorm, and nodded in a respectful manner. He noted her body language, but his mind told him not to mention it. Instead, he flicked his tail and blinked.
"Good. Echostorm, knowing the scent of these rogues better than any of us, will lead the way, following their scent. But we will still help, helping to follow the trail more efficently. Once there, we need to work out a plan of action."

[LunarFaith]

Echostorm rolled his eyes. "Well blackstar, if your done flirting, we'll move on." his voice was rough and annoyed, clearly wanting to leave. He turned feom the others, closing his eyes for a moment. He allowed himself to think of them. To think of the fight. To think of losing Kite.

And he smelled it.

With a flick of his ear, he was gone. He raced through the territory he knew so well, his paws skimming its earth, following the subtle stench of iron.

Blackstar was taken back by how quickly the grey tom took off. His amber eyes opened wide, and it took him a moment to gather his tail into a flicking motion, then ran after Echostorm. How dare Echostorm just take off, without giving second thought about anyone! He isn't the only one who loves Kitewing.

Brightfrost shared a glance with Leopardfrost, and they both ran after their leader, heads low as they ducked under branches, paws barely hitting the ground before they lifted once more, propelling the two she-cats along.

Stormstar cocked her head to the right for a moment, confused by this unnannounced take-off, but shrugged, flicking her tail towards her little patrol in a silent command. Swiftly, she bounded off after Echostorm, taking a few longer strides to catch up to his side. It would've been a dream come true for Stormstar, running shoulder-to-shoulder with her eldest son, if only this hadn't been sue to the kidnapping of her youngest. "Echostorm, how far away do you think Strayclan built their camp?" She asked quietly, a silent tug in the pit of her stomach. She didn't want to be alone with her thoughts for too long.

Echostorm promptly ignored the pull in his heart as his mother ran alongside him. "Far. They're probably settled in the middle of the dark forrest" he said distantly, judging his prediction from the direction of the iron smell. His heart lurched for a frection of a second when he noticed that he did not smell Copperpaw. Maybe someone had carried him? He sure hoped so.

Appleberry could only wait, but it seemed as though that was the hardest task. Worry pulled her, and she shook, fluffing her pelt. Leopardfrost will be fine... She is a perfectly great fighter and StarClan is watching over all of us... she thought to herself, trying to ease the worry that threatened to drown her.

Falconpaw gathered consciousness and blinked the darkness away from the edges of her vision. A terrible, sharp pain greeted her as she took a breath. Pinching up her face in pain, she realized her ribs had been broken. She then decided that a way to escape her prison was to day-dream. Taking shallow breaths to minimize the pain, she closed her eyes and wondered what her warrior name would be. Surely Blackstar will find me worthy after saving Spottedkit... she thought, and then added with a jealous twist, Then again he never seemed to have time for me lately... He is probably only worried about getting Kitewing home safely.
