He sensed something had happened before he even entered the clearing, and honestly Vipereye was getting real tired of these gut feelings. It didn't take more than a cursory glance around the clearing as he entered camp to tell what had happened. Greywing had been found, at least. With soft condolences to Puddlestar, and a few murmured words wishing the deputy well on the journey both her and the clan and believed in after death, he settled down nearby, tail wrapped around his paws.

Birchpaw made a soft, startled noise as Greywing was carried into camp, his ears back against his head. She hadn't even been deputy that long, how was this fair? His tail flicked, eyes glancing around the clearing to gauge the reactions of the clan. What... was he supposed to do?

Soaringbird and Rustpaw pressed their muzzles into Greywing's fur, murmuring prayers for Greywing quietly. The two stepped back, letting more clanmates step in to do the same.

The warrior shook her head sadly, pinning her smaller ears to her dark head. She was too young, and just turned deputy. How is this fair? Starclan, what is the meaning behind this? As much as she loved and believed her ancestors, she couldn't help but feel a bit of anger towards them for taking the young deputy.

Leopardheart had just finished a hunting trip and caught a squirrel and two mice and dropped them in the fresh kill pile before seeing a group of cats gather around Greywing. He padded over easily looking over everyone to see Greywing, the cat paying respects and he knew that he had died instantly he bowed his head and spoke his his deep voice, though he didn't talk much and no one ever noticed his accent but when he spoke his British accent was clear."May Greywing hunt in the fields with starclan" he spoke softly but with a sincerity to his tone has he spoke to his dead deputy.

Nightsky flickered her ears at the large warriors words, turning her head slightly to look at him. So he does have emotions, then. Even though she knew he had a soul, and that deep down he could feel, she couldn't help but sometimes imagine him without them.

Puddlestar turned away, pain in his gaze as he squeezed his eyes shut. He leapt up onto the Pineroots, turning to face the clan. His blue eyes were dark with sadness as he spoke. "The mountain is dangerous; what has happened to Greywing has proved that. From now on, no cat is allowed going onto the mountain alone." He scanned the clearing and his clan, making sure all of them understood. "And.... I say these words in front of the body of Greywing, so that she may hear and approve of my choice. Leopardheart will be the new deputy of Stoneclan." He took a small, shaky breath after speaking.

Eveningleaf padded out of her den with the lavender and horsetail in her jaws, chewing it into a light paste as she neared her friend's body. She slowly lapped the scented herbs into Greywing's pelt in an attempt to mask the scent of death.

Cootrunner flattened her ears, looking away from Greywing's body. The shecat had been kind and just; she didn't deserve to die like this. Why was she even alone on the mountain..?

Leopardheart flattened his ears and bowed his head once more"I will protect the clan with my life and serve the clan has well, I thank you and starclan for choosing me. When he looked up he saw Nightsky looking at him and he looked down at her for a few moments before looking over to the medicine cat then at Greywing "I know you will be accepted with open paws, until we meet again my friend" he spoke before turning around and padding to his den. He decided it would only be right to morn for his clan mate so thats what he did, after a while of morning for his friend he walked out og his den and sat outside of it.

Without looking at Nightsky he spoke softly "Thank you Nightsky and I only have one request, don't treat me any differently then you treat others. Just because I'm deputy doesn't mean I am any different then anyone else." He finally looked down at the she-cat his eyes narrowed slightly and he studied the she-cat for a few moments before opting his eyes again. She reminded the large tom of his sister but he quickly push it to the side and looked forward again.

She felt him looking at her, though choose not to meet his gaze and instead found her gaze glued on the previous deputies motionless corpse. "I wasn't going to," She murmured, dropping her head a little as her ears flattened a tad. "No one likes being treated differently because of rank," A sudden thought occurred to her and she snorted. "Where you ever told that kits tale about Tigerclaw?"
