Squirrelpaw thought about it carefully and replied. '' But when you expected the unexpected, doesn't it become to expected then?'' She asked, shaking the dust out of her pelt.

[*~Pantherleaf~*]

Firestorm smirked. "Indeed. That is true." He sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws. "Now. You have 30 minutes to hunt as many pieces of prey as possible."

Lightpaw nodded. At least she had done better this time.

(Quick post before more chores. )

"Here, watch me." Heartclaw suggested lightly. He crouched down, about five fox lengths away from the plant, and began slinking forward. His pawsteps were light and his tail moved with him as he crept forward. When he was two tail lengths away, he sprang, using his backlegs for power and stretching out his forepaws.

[*~Pantherleaf~*]

"Oh!" Lightpaw suddenly exclaimed. "I get it now!" Her tail lashed back and forth eager to try it. She crouched down again and stalked toward the plant once more. Now she understood how to do it. Hunting wasn't just about speed, it was about stealth and timing too. She sat up after pouncing on the plant and looked at her mentor. She had done it right, hadn't she?

"Fantastic" Heartclaw purred. "One thing you'll learn is no cat is better than another. Whether or not you grow to be a great hunter, you'll be better than other cats at somethings, and need practice at others. I'm not sure where you left off with Longfang, but we'll certainly continue working on hunting tomorrow. Mice are probably one of the easiest things to hunt to most cats, but it all depends on how fast you are, your climbing skills, and your jumping ability." He told her, "Stay here and keep practicing, I'll go find something better to practice on."

[*~Pantherleaf~*]

Lightpaw nodded her head as she listened. She had been Farley good at climbing due to her light weight, but she wonders how fast she was without using her ability. She dipped her head "Yes Heartclaw." While Heartclaw was gone, she focused on how she placed her paws.

Heartclaw sniffed around the base of a tree until he spotted a mouse next to a nearby tree sniffing around the roots. He crouched down and began stalking. The mouse dropped its nut and looked around, so Heartclaw sprang. The mouse tried to escape, but Heartclaw was too quick. He snapped its neck and took it back to the clearing. He dropped it in the center. "Stalk this instead."

"You need to relax to get your strength to take down a pesky bird, or a Leafclan cat" he mewed smirking at the tom.

Moon waits for night to come across the land.

"Kittypet? I used to live with twolegs, but that was many moonrises ago" she mewed as the tom went into the bush, then glanced down at the bird before she took a bite of the prey. The taste of the bird was like honey to her, "This tastes much better than the metal can foods" she mewed licking her muzzle, "Are you going to eat?" she asked not wanting to take his dinner.

Forestpaw/Location: Nursery/Feeling; Bored/Crush: Open/Tags; Dawnstream
"I guess I could....." he mewed as he got to his paws, and went to the nursery entrance, "Thanks Dawnstream, if we're going hunting I'll bring you back a nice piece of prey".

(It's okay he's just been in the nursery)

Lightpaw tilted her head at the dead mouse. "Ok..." She crouched down stalke it, just like she had done the plant. She placed her paws carefully as she crept towards it. She pushe off her hind legs and pounced on it.

"Good, again." Heartclaw told her. "The smaller the target, the harder to hit it." He explained.
