Bristlepelt stared as it left. "Its.. gone."

Sparrowcatcher closed his mouth; it had dropped when the badger got up. "You know...when it stared at us..." Then he paused, swinging his head to look at Ottersplash. "Uhm, nevermind. We should, you know, start heading back."

Bristlepelt knew what he meant even if he hadn't finished his sentence. It had an intelligent mystic look in its eyes to Bristlepelt and Sparrowcatcher must have seen it too. He was quiet for a few moments before responding. "Yeah, probably. Do you think it went off the territory," He asked in a lower voice to Sparrowcatcher

Sparrowcatcher glanced up at Bristlepelt, then shook his head. "It may have been scared off, but I doubt it. Our territory has a lot of prey. Roots. Grubs. It may be tempted to come closer to camp again, especially due to the moisture. What..." He paused, thinking. "What do you think Volantstar will do when she finds out we let an enemy like that go? You don't think they'll kill it, do you?"

Bristlepelt sighs. He was more concerned about what Volantstar would think but the death of the badger was important too. "They can't kill something they don't know about. Maybe it won't be a problem but either way we should keep it a secret. Deal?"

The tabby tom lifted his chin. "Deal." He couldn't help but think that Ottersplash might not be as happy to keep it a secret. And he couldn't help but...one more time, he craned his head and looked over his shoulder. In the far distance he could see movement. The badger was still making its slow retreat. How wounded was it? Would it die alone out there? Sparrowcatcher couldn't help but hope against it, and he had no idea why.
"There's the camp," Sparrowcatcher mewed, jerking his head. The entrance was just up ahead.

Bristlepelt watched as the entrance neared. He slipped through it and back into camp witch looked just like they had left it before they went to see the badger.

Sparrowcatcher glanced over to Ottersplash, who seemed oddly vicious. He felt the she-cat disliked him, but why? He trailed after Bristlepelt then headed off to the Warrior's Den for a much needed rest. So many feelings had coursed through him then, but two stood out. He couldn't help but feel awe towards the badger and another feeling...his total awkwardness, clumsiness around Bristlepelt. Sparrowcatcher didn't know how to feel. He was male...Giving himself a shake, the tom crawled into his nest, circled twice, and lay his head on his paws.

Ottersplash wanted to spit at them. Instead, she climbed a tree and fell asleep.
