"S-So i'm not deputy?" Tricklestep asked, almost whispered, his eyes filled with pain as he remembers she changed the deputys.

Fernstar shook her head. "Yes, you still are deputy," she says happily. "And now... Will Firekit, Dewkit, and Jaykit please step forward?"

Fernstar stopped in the middle of the ceremony. "Tricklestep, would you rather be deputy of her?" She then returned to her speech. "Jaykit, from now on, until you earn your warrior name, you'll be known as Jaypaw. Sagefur, you will mentor Jaypaw." Sagefur ran up and touched Jaypaw's nose greatfully. His first apprentice had died. "Dewkit, from now on, until you earn your warrior name, you'll be known as Dewpaw. Tricklestep, you shall be Dewpaw's mentor. Firekit, from now on, until you earn your warrior name, you'll be known as Firepaw. Pumpkinwish shall be your mentor," she announced. Pumpkinwish ran up and too, touched his apprentice's nose. "You'll be the best warrior ever," he whispered into Firepaw's ear.

Tricklestep backs away, "...Yes..." he murmured, bounding down the high pile and disapearing into the leader's den, where Hollystar lay.

Morningdew woke up and noticed the naming ceremony. She walked out and saw Fernstar, she fell to the ground, dizzy. Why is Fernstar here? Am I dead?

Hollytail woke up and looked at Tricklestep. (She still thinks she's HollySTAR, but she's not) "What's wrong?" she asked.

Fernstar smiled at the apprentices. "And now, will Rosepaw and Mosspaw please come here?" The apprentices came running. "I will announce your mentors. Raspberryleaf will mentor Rosepaw and Nettleshine will mentor Mosspaw. Morningdew! Since you were without a mentor for so long, Weednose has decided to be yours until you're ready. Understand? All the former leaders of this Clan have been demoted to warriors and have resumed their warrior names. Dawnstar is Dawnleaf. Daystar is Day(?), and Hollystar is Hollytail. I need a queen to look after poor little Gingerkit. Any volunteers?"

Gingerflight raised her tail. "I will. I'm expecting kits anyway."

Sagefur looked at his daughter. "Who's?"

The warrior blushed. "Um, uh..."

Tricklestep lay down, "You've been demoted...to a warrior..." he murmurs, pain flashing in his eyes. He looks down to avoid her gaze.

Morningdew gets up and nods, a bit wobbly on her elgs.
