As Ravenpaw sits at the enterance of the medicine den she hears a noise behind her and she turns aroud.Hidden in a small and dark adjoining room with room for only one cat to sit is the storage room and sitting in there is a cat who Ravenpaw guesses is the medicine cat because she smells of herbs."Ummm.....hello?"she asks slowly limping towards the cat,"Are you the medicine cat?Can I get this wound checked?"It has been a while since she talked to a medicine cat.The last medicine cat she talked to was Slickpaw,her sister,who was a medicine cat apprentice.All she knows about medicine cats is what she knows about Treeclaw,the only medicine cat she ever knew and that isn't a lot since she was so young when she knew him.

As Ravenpaw waits for the cat to answer her mind drifts off to Slickpaw.Slickpaw's slick looking black pelt and green eyes flash through her mind.Ravenpaw had always been close to her sister,but when Slickpaw became a medicine cat apprentice Ravenpaw felt somewhat betrayed.She had always imagined that she and her sister would one day rule their clan together with Ravenpaw being Ravenstar and Slickpaw being Slickpelt the deputy.After that Ravenpaw thought of her being leader and Slickpaw being medicine cat,but sadly she never got to see her dream fulfilled.

"That's ok"she said smiling,"I'm just glad I was in the right place at the right time."She sat licking her chest fur and enjoying the sunrays on her red pelt.

"Its ok,I guess,"she said,"it finally stopped bleeding,but yours doesn't look to good at all.You should probably go lay down."She slowly limped to a moss nest and laid down.

Ravenpaw gasped,quickly she limped over to the medicine store and began pulling out the needed herbs."Thank Starclan Slickpaw taught me about herbs."she murmured while applying the proper herbs and wrapping Summerpaw's leg in cobwebs.After putting some herbs in Summerpaw's mouth and helping her chew,Ravenpaw applied herbs to her own wound and laid down,exhausted.

Ravenpaw smiled and moved closer to Summerpaw."Thank-you Slickpelt."she thought,"Thank-you."and she fell into a deep sleep.

Ravenpaw looked around."Where am I?"she thought looking franticaly around"This isn't the medicine cat den."

"Ravenpaw."

Ravenpaw whirled around,fur bristling then she stopped with her eyes wide and her mouth open."Slickpaw?!"she exclaimed"But,but,you're DEAD!Where am I?!What is this place?!"

Slickpaw smiled,"Hello dear sister,yes I am dead and you are with Starclan.I always knew something was going to happen,but I was forbidden to tell you."

"YOU KNEW ABOUT EVERYTHING?!"Ravenpaw exclaimed,"The famine,the foxes,me,the only one able to escape?!All of it?!

Slickpaw sadly nodded"Yes,your escape,the nightmares,everything."

"Why couldn't you tell me that I was going to be alone and cold and hungry and haunted with nightmares?!"Ravenpaw exclaimed.

"Because it wouldn't have made a difference and then you wouldn't have been happy knowing that soon your entire life would be changed."said Slickpaw

Ravenpaw sighed,"I guess you're right."

Slickpelt started to fade.

"No!COME BACK!"said Ravenpaw

Slickpelt smiled as she faded away,"Don't worry I'll come back.................Remember you're NEVER alone.................................."
and then Ravenpaw woke up.

Ravenpaw panted from the excitement of her dream,if that's what you could call it.Had she really just talked to her dead sister?For moons she had longed that her family hadn't died but she NEVER expected to see one of them again.She had always thought that Starclan only came to medicine cats.What did her sister mean by saying "I will come back" could she possibly see Slickpaw again?! This thought excited Ravenpaw as she slowly got up and walked out of the den."Why did she decide NOW to come to me?"Ravenpaw thought,"Why didn't she come before?" puzzled,Ravenpaw laid down in a spot of sunlight near the center of the camp.Her mind was filled with questions that she couldn't answer."I guess I'll just have to ask her next time."thought Ravenpaw,"Whenever that is." So Ravenpaw laid there listening to the sounds of the cats around her,happy to know that what Slickpaw had said was true,she wasn't alone now.

She padded back into camp. She hadn't seen the medicine cat anywhere, but picked up her scent on the way back. She assumed that she had returned to camp. As She padded into camp, a wave of exhaustion rolled over her, and she found herself heading to the warrior's den.
