- take the fight from the kid
I didn't move. I just kept my eyes locked on Cherrypaw, pricking my ears. I had wondered what damaged this she-cat so much... What hurt her. Something must have happened in her past that had ruined her sense of friendship. My heart ached for Cherrypaw. Something had to be in there; a light, perhaps. A light in the dark. Cherrypaw, we need to talk about something. The wind stopped, for what seemed like forever. I don't want you to hate me. I never meant to hurt you, either. I know there's chemistry between you and Dappledpaw, and I respect that, I mewed, finally breaking the stare and looking down at my paws. I let a little sob out, before looking back up. I don't know why I'm here, Cherrpaw. I ran away to find you, and that's all I know. You and Dappledpaw, I sucked it up and stood up. And now, I want to formally apologize for being such an attention-hog, Cherrypaw. I'm sorry for causing you pain. And I don't want us to hate each other. So, do you think we could start over? Perhaps we could go for a small walk, if you're feeling strong enough?
