- Sasha's cautious expression relaxed into a warm smile as the dobie play-bowed before her. Although she didn't return the bow, she did start to wag her tail more quickly. If he kept this up, he could probably get her to succomb to wrestling in the sand like a carefree puppy. She laughed when he told her his name and snarled; now she understood better what he had been doing before.
But when the doberman unexpectedly leapt to his feet and appeared only inches away from Sasha's face, her eyes widened a bit. She knew by now that Killer wasn't a threat, but it still surprised her enough to take an involuntary step back. She seemed confused at his question, and followed his eyes out into the ocean. "The sand eater?" she replied, not catching on and obviously confused. "What is that, some kind of fish?
Then the puppy scrambled between them, and the intense moment was interupted. Sasha, always having a soft spot for puppies, immediately shot an angry glare at the human chasing her, and stood right beside Killer when he snarled at the human; she, too, could look pretty damn scary when she wanted to. A satisfied smirk crossed her muzzle as the human ran away. Then, her attention turned back to the puppy.
Before she could speak, the puppy had already figured out that the sand-eater was the water. Sighing in a light-hearted manner, she responded to Killer, "I know how to tame the beast!" Her voice was bold, filled with drama. "The humans have floatation devices... some are plastic filled with air, others are styrofoam boards. You have to obtain one of these treasured items to beat the sand-eater!" Hoping that her story would distract Killer long enough, she interjected to ask the puppy, "Are you okay? Who was that human chasing you?" The tone she used, her body language, even the way that her eyes grew soft when looking at the pup were reminiscent of a gentle mother, even though she had no pups of her own.
