Ice had enough of Leaf's actions. The boatswain moved to the side to avoid the kit's claws. However, the she-cat was annoyed that Little was just standing there, watching her kit follow in her footsteps. Come on, Tempest. Do you have a plan? she thought.

the little kit yowled in frustration as his target moved aside. at once, it caught Littles' attention. She padded down and licked her kit on his head. "Good kit, now please don't yowl," she meowed. She raised her gaze to look at Ice, her emerald eyes turning dark. "Leave him alone," she hissed.

Leaf purred as he got praise. He got praise for being bad! He padded after his mother, by now hungry. "Not now, Leaf. Mommy is busy," she said gently, giving the kit a soft nudge.

Heron saw Ice being picked on and he growled, walking right past Little and taking Leaf in his jaws, being carful not to draw blood on him but to make sure he was really in trouble. He walked to the nursery den and set him down, glaring at the kit. "Your mommy is bad! She hurts other cats!" he said. "She wants you to be bad, like her, to end cats lives! Do you REALLY want to hurt other cats?" he said angrily, keeping the kit trapped underneath one paw.

leaf hissed and growled. He didn't want anyone to take him away! Only Mommy and Daddy were allowed! He looked up at Heron when the Tom began talking. When he finished, he just yowled uncontrollably.

Little let Heron take her kit. She followed him quietly, but jumped to the scene when leaf began yowling. "Leave him ALONE!" She hissed, pushing the Tom into a wall ot the nursery.
