Mallownose sat up. "You're what's the matter. All that flirting, showing off-I was stupid enough to think it was for me. You're just a flirt, apparently. Now, why don't you leave me in peace and go eat prey after you've already eaten with Reedwhisker." Without another word,he slipped past her, hastily made his way out of camp, and walked towards the river.

Petalfur's face fell as he walked out. She hadn't thought he noticed her at all. Not sure what to do she couldn't leave him alone. She wanted him to at least know how she felt. Standing she ran after him, as she exited the camp she called out "Mallownose! Please talk to me."

Mallownose kept walking. "I have nothing more to say."

"It was for you" Petalfur said following him as he continued walking. "I didn't think you noticed, so I didn't want to bother you anymore" She said, her voice cracking with emotion.

"How do I know you're not lying? Especially after you went after Reedwhisker."

"I was just being kind to the deputy" She said, "I would never be interested in him, I love someone else" Petalfur said, her green eyes dancing with emotion.

Reedwhisker flicked his tail as he watched from the warrior's den.

Robinwing sunned himself.

Mosspelt watched her kits.

Duskfur sighed. "Not a talker, huh?" She retreated to the nursery.
