Palejaw
Summitclan - Warrior - Male - 35 moons - Apprentice: None
Tags: Mothlight - Mentions: Tinypaw & Cindercloud
Being verbally assaulted by one of the more nervous cat's in the clan was not what Palejaw expected when he walked back into camp. Though he did agree with her in his head, what little pride he had was stung by the fact that some lass moons younger than him was scolding him like a kit. Shooting the big lass a glare he ignored her for a time so he could drop his catches on the prey-pile. After dropping his catches, he swung around to face the feline looking rather annoyed. He padded back to the she-cat and quietly hissed,"Yes, I went hunting, and yes I do realize how mouse-brained it was to go alone." He sat down, glancing over at TInypaw and Cindercloud. "Not because I could have been taken, but because I would have left the last piece of my family that I actually care about." Of course, he hadn't realized this until it became obvious that someone or something was watching.

A soft giggle left her as she flinched back from Tinyseal's retaliation, then with closed eyes mewed,"
Yeah, it was nice there. It rarely snowed there. I think one of the clan's elders had only seen two or three snowfalls in all his ninety-plus moons as a warrior." She paused then after opening her eyes and sighed, allowing her hindlegs to relax while doggy-paddling with her front legs. With more of her body submerged in water, the lass fought back a shiver, once again closing her eyes and letting out a loud purr.

A look of horror crossed Tinypaws face as Cindercloud joked about using Palejaw in his warrior assessment. It was a comical look on the normally happy-go-lucky tom before he whispered in a terror-filled mew,"
Don't even joke about that! Great Starclan Cindercloud are you trying to give me nightmares? Palejaw doesn't go easy, on anyone. Especially not me." He gave a shudder half-amused at the thought half truly terrified. An ear twitched as his mentor spoke once again, his head snapping to her and then following her gaze. Internally the tom grimaced,
Oooo Palejaw's got that look. Annoyed face number five, great. "
I think I'll give him and Mothlight sometime alone, you never know she may be able to soften the brute." He said nervously. But all the same, he got up and gave a nod to his mentor about to take his leave.

Softpaw happily strutted about the forest, following a scent she wasn't sure about until she
reached a stronger scent. She slowly crouched, sniffing a leaf that had a muddy little paw pri
nt on it. She decided against it, as it looked like it could possibly be the paw print of a fox cub.
So she turned to follow the trail of another thing. And she found herself getting dangerously cl
ose to Summitclan territory. But she didn't quite know where she was. She had never gone this
far before. A tiny speck of fear was welling up inside of her. With a simple crack of a leaf, Soft
paw was terrified, and she scurried deeper into the forest, contemplating whether or not to yo
wl for help.

The large cat's face had been screwed up into an anxious frown, but it quickly gave way to a flush of shame. O-oh StarClan, I need to hold my tongue before some cat claws it out. The spark of adrenaline that had carried her to the tom had just as swiftly waned away, leaving her with a nervous ball of energy in the pit of her stomach. She gave her chest a few embarrassed licks as he replied with a hiss, averting her gaze like an apprentice caught up to no good. "I... didn't mean mouse-brained" She offered feebly, bracing herself for a cold glare when she returned her eyes to his; only to find him flicking his gaze to where Tinypaw sat. The sight softened her some. Prickly as a thorn, but his heart is soft for that apprentice. Her whiskers twitched. Tinypaw was an odd little tom but endearing none the less. He could keep any cat in good spirits, she thought, stealing a glance at his older cousin. Even Palejaw? One look at the large tom's no-nonsense expression had her backtracking the thought immediately. "Of course you know the danger, it w-wasn't my place to chide. I hope you can forgive me, fear loosens my tongue-" She managed to quell her nervous blathering, instead dipping her head apologetically; though her eyes stayed fixed on the gathered cats. With a newfound embarrassment she noticed Tinypaw and Cindercloud glancing their way and quickly ducked her head as though it'd make her less visible.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________◤xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx◥

Darkwillow dipped his head respectfully upon the leader's approach, drawing his tail across his paws. "Goodmorning, Ripplestar" He returned the greeting with an even tone, his expression giving nothing away. "I'm well, though my paws itch to be busy. I must look lazy as a kittypet, just sat outside the den." He had never felt comfortable sitting idle, but with most cats out with their apprentices or hunting he felt it was best to wait for company. The odd disappearances had set nettle pricks of anxiety in his stomach, an apprehension that more of the clan could end up StarClan knows where at a moment's notice. Though his face did nothing to betray these fears; a perfect stoic mask. He regarded the leader with a level gaze, his good eye seeming to search the other's toms face for a moment. "Are you well?" The responsibilities Ripplestar carried were not something to be envied, they could make the strongest cat crumble beneath the weight of it; though he had no doubt his leader was resilient.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

{Badgerbloom}
Form--She-cat--Summitclan--Warrior--16 Moons--Single--No Apprentice--Curious--TAGS:Silvertail/Camp The white and black she-cat eagerly soaked up all the information the older tom was giving her. It was true that she hoped she could join in the gathering but Silvertail's words only made that desire grow. If Silvertail said the Shoreclan cats were interesting then she would believe him. Heck, if Silvertail told Badgerbloom that mice could fly on invisible wings she would believe him. There was no cat in camp she respected more than him after all.
She purred happily as he laid down beside her and turned her head to watch his expressions as he spoke. She had to watch his mouth move as he spoke since his new position made it a bit harder for her to catch his voice considering her secret deafness in her right ear. At the mention of the missing cats Badgerbloom's purrs stopped. She glanced down at her white paws before gently resting her tail on the tom's back in a comforting gesture. "Someone has to know something." She meowed softly, trying to come up with some way to reassure the older cat. "Maybe if we put all of our brains together we can still find everyone." With that, she looked back at Silvertail and gave a small smile of hope.
{Cindercloud}
Form--She-cat--Summitclan--Warrior--29 Moons--Single--Apprentice is Tinypaw--Amused--TAGS:Tinypaw--mentions:Palejaw&Mothlight--Camp Cindercloud gave a hearty chuckle at the tom before rolling her eyes again. "If you are truly the best apprentice I'm sure you can manage it. I can't think of a more suitable assessment." She teased him but was partially considering the Palejaw tactic. Perhaps she would speak to him later regarding the future assessment. Her thoughts were cut short by the sound of Tinypaw's continued meows and she looked down at him. At his comment about Mothlight she scoffed sending another glance in the other cat's direction. "She is too much of a pushover, so I doubt it." She said before looking back at him and nodding again. "Go on then, before I change my mind and make you help the new warriors move into the warrior den." Her tone was light but it wasn't to be taken as a joke, she really would have him do that. She turned her gaze back towards the ceremony without another word, leaving Tinypaw to go about his day until training later.
{Crabfur}
Form--Tom-cat--Shoreclan--Warrior--30 Moons--Single--No Apprentice--Worried--TAGS:Creamflower--Mentions:Reedstrike/Shore Crabfur has slunk back a bit at the deputy's words but had not argued or insisted back. Instead, he turned to Creamflower and was thankful to see the kind queen waiting for him. His face softened a bit as they walked and he listened to her speak. "T-thank you for inviting me." He said softly as they found a proper hunting spot. His eyes gazed across the ocean for a moment before he turned back to the queen. "T-the weather is good for the fish and crabs to be swept to shore. This is a good spot." Despite his cowardly personality Crabfur was not an incompetent warrior, he knew how to hunt and fish it was just a matter of him feeling comfortable enough to do it.

Tail tip twitching in annoyance, he gave she-cat a half-hearted glare. "
I'm going to give you some advice Mothlight. Right now you're just as much use as a dead fox, a mouse-hearted one at that. I will admit you do catch prey, but as far as I can tell, you're the weakest link in the clan. You have no back-bone. Summitclan cannot take another missing cat. So do us all a favor and get a spine." He hissed in a low tone, baring his teeth slightly. Giving a disdainful huff Palejaw gave the lass one last glare before returning to his original seat. Tail lashing with a mixture of Annoyance and anger the lynx pointed tom hoped the she-cat would at least try to bite back.

He sighed but nodded showing his understanding, starting to leave as Cindercloud spoke. He snickered then whispered,"
Then I'll just have to find someone else to set Palejaw up with." Waving goodbye to his mentor, the golden-eyed tom trotted over to where Palejaw and Mothlight stood. Turning around when Palejaw stomped off his tail lashing, with annoyed face number seven on. A soft whine left the young tom.
Only Starclan knows what she said to get that face to be awakened. Suppressing a shudder, Tinypaw sighed then glanced between the two cats, not knowing if he should try to calm down his kin or attempt to smooth over what his kin had said.
Mouse-dung.

Mothlight seemed to shrink away as the tom cast his barrage of insults, momentarily looking half the size of the stocky warrior she was. Her gaze once again dropping to the ground, passivly accepting the critersism. Speak out of turn and your bound to get bared teeth. She chided herself, and yet the words stung, prickling her pelt indignantly. How many times in her youth had her mentor stung her with similar words? Stop dithering, speak up, grow a spine Mothpaw. As the gruff warrior turned tail to storm away, her paws began to quiver. Gathering the courage to rebuke the tom, or trying to vibrate her way through a hole in the ground, it was hard to tell. "I- you're- you- " Any retort died in her throat. You're not the fist warrior to call me spineless, but you will be the last. You big... stubborn... badger... She willed the words to leave her mouth, but the half hearted jibe never made it past her tongue. Impolite. Instead she laughed feebly; her brows creasing into a tentative frown despite the smile on her maw. "R-right, of course your right." The words fell on deaf ears, he was no longer there to hear them. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Body stiff and teeth bared as Palejaw sat, his fluffy tail lashing violently after his
talk with Mothlight. He never really did understand the lass, she could be so much more. Grimacing as he glanced her way, gritting his teeth silently.
One would think she's a kitty-pet if it weren't for a few things. He thought idly, twitching an ear as Tinypaw sat down next to him. The large tom huffed and curled his tail protectively around the younger tom. Inwardly groaning when the young tom spoke, he replied. "
She called me a mouse-brain. The cleanpaw called me sir, for Starclans sake!" He spat out the word sir like a curse, then carried on. "
Then she tried to apologize when I agreed with her! Mothlight has no spine, I tell you Tinypaw don't trust her to do anything for you or the clan. She'll just go back on her word later." He finished with a soft growl, despite the fact that the large toms body was much more relaxed.

Golden eyes twitching between the two the grey-furred tom sighed and shot the she-cat an apologetic look before darting over to Palejaw. Looking over the older tom, Tinypaw inwardly groaned but let out a chuckle. Sitting next to his cousin Tinypaw gave a soft wordless mew in greeting as Palejaw's tail curled around his smaller body. A soft smile found its way to his jaw, and he leaned into the older tom. "
So what caused you to go off like that Palejaw?" He asked softly, a low purr in his throat.
I really hope she didn't say or do anything two mouse-brained. The tom internally grimaced at the thought,
Or I might have to take a piece out of her too.

He smiled at Darkwillow and flicked his tail-tip. The tom was a rather serious senior warrior, but Ripplestar didn't mind. He wanted almost everyone's opinion before he appeared at the gathering. "It's okay, I appreciate some cats remaining in the camp. Although I worry about hunting and patroling, I also worry about protecting the camp," Ripplestar admitted with a sigh. There weren't many other cats in camp, or at least that he could see from here. He hadn't made a head-count in a while, and he guessed that there were about three or four cats left in camp or in dens. At Darkwillow's question, he paused and thought it would be better to tell the truth, so he murmured, "I'll be honest. I'm not ready for this gathering. I'm not ready to look at Rabbitstar and her own small amount of cats, most likely finding no clues as to where they are."

"Wow! It doesn't really snow at our camp, but the forest always gets a few blankets every leaf-bare," he commented with eyes wide. Another thing I can't imagine, Tinyseal thought to himself. He turned onto his back and floated on the water, something like other Shoreclan cats had learned to do when they were young. With a content sigh, he closed his eyes and drifted with the waves, trying to remain close to Servalnose.

Creamflower listened to what Crabfur said before smiling, nodding in agreement. "That is true!" she said. "Crabs and fish will be perfect to help feed ShoreClan!" She stares out at the shore and waits for any sign of movement, hoping to catch something with Crabfur.

Softpaw, Ripplestar[m], Darkwillow[m]|Forest
A pair of pale green eyes glinted in the darkness of the tunnel, soft paw steps echoing faintly as he emerged into the pale light of Shoreclan Camp. He stretched and his maw opened in a short yawn. Sagepaw groomed his paw and swiped it over one of his large ears, feeling a little bit better after his short nap. He glanced around and noticed the patrol wasn't back yet, and that the familiar grey coat of Softpaw was now absent. He hummed worriedly, though his attention immediately snapped to his leader and the introverted warrior Darkwillow who were having a quiet conversation on the other side of the clearing. They both looked troubled and almost as soon as the young tom's worry had started to fade it popped back up again. His tail fluffed slightly and he decided he needed to get out of camp, no matter how weak and tired he felt. Sagepaw sent up a silent plea to Starclan that he wouldn't run into his mentor- he was not in the mood for lectures or training- in fact, a small part of Sagepaw hoped he would see Stagpaw again. He shuffled past the two older toms as fast as he could, keeping his head down and ears forward, trying to look deep in thought and distracted. As he left camp he quickly found Softpaw's scent; old, but trackable. He followed it along the shore and towards the woods, and to his surprise, it didn't stop at the edge of the forest. Sagepaw's heart pounded in his ears as he pushed on, but to his dismay he quickly lost the tracks in a tangle of ferns. He grunted in irritation, but despite his misfortune, he still had a pang of hope that he would bump into the Summitclan apprentice. Sagepaw wandered close to the border, his haunches fluffing as the musty smell of the cliffs overpowered the familiar scent of salt and mint. The sandy-colored tom held back a shudder and padded directly up to the Summitclan border, his ears and eyes searching for any hint of a calico-tabby pelt. A loud crunch made him whirl around, his hackles raised and teeth bared. He was startled, but mainly afraid that it was the Shoreclan patrol his mentor was leading. 'What if he sees me?! Oh Starclan..' Sagepaw crept towards the origin of the sound and peered around a clump of tall grasses. He chirped in surprise, it was Softpaw, looking just as nervous and frightened as he was. "S-Softpaw..? What are you doing so close to the border, are you alright?" his small voice was barely a whisper as he tried to get his own frantic heart to stop pounding so hard.

Bearfluff silenced his loud purring, however difficult it was, and watched Hornetpaw step up as his name was called with another pang of pride, albeit smaller than when Stagleap got his warrior name. The young cats worked hard for this day, and even though they weren't biologically his, Bearfluff felt a small fatherly tie to each cat, knowing that they were safe and sound under his watchful eye. He would speak to Rabbitstar later, after the gathering, once he had calmed himself down and the excitement of three new warriors faded. He yawned and kneaded the ground, his fatigue returning. He ached for his nest but pushed the feeling down.
