As all the cats gathered around, Silverstar went on. “ Treekit, and Spiderkit. You have both reached the age of 6 Moons, therefore, you are ready to begin training as apprentices. “ she paused for a moment. She still wasn’t used to having every cat’s eyes on her. “ Treekit, please step forward. From this day forth, until you earn your full name, you shall be known as Treepaw. Your mentor will be Nightscar. “ her gaze turned to Nightscar. “ Nightscar, before Dapplepool was a Medicine apprentice, you taught her well as a warrior. It is a shame she didn’t continue her training, but we have been blessed with a lovely medicines cat. I expect you to pass on all the warrior knowledge you have to Treepaw. “ she paused, as the clan began to cheer Treepaw’s name. As the uproar calmed, she continued. “ Spiderkit, please step forward. From this day forth, until you earn your full name, you shall be known as Spiderpaw. Your mentor shall be Ravenmoon. “ her gaze dropped onto Ravenmoon. “ Ravenmoon, as Spiderpaw is your first apprentice, I expect you to try your hardest to pass on all of your warrior knowledge to him. “ She couldn’t help but twitch her whiskers in amusement at the uproar of the cheering names, and afterward, when the new apprentices greeted their mentors.

Dapplepool

Dapplepool felt her pelt burn as her name was mentioned. Nightscar was Dapplepool’s original mentor, before she decided to be a medicine cat apprentice. He had taught her well, but fighting, and hunting was just never her strength.

Thornkit felt jealousy burn under his pelt. I want to train with Spiderpaw, too! Now i’m Stuck with Creamkit, and Sweetkit. It’s not that they’re mean, or I don’t like them, they’re just boring, and mewl all the time. Maybe Spiderpaw will still play with me after he trains. he thought. Soon, Thornkit would be an apprentice, too. And he would get to train with Spiderpaw and Treepaw!

Foxtuft enjoyed watching the new apprentices get their names. It brought back memories of his young age.

Eyes shining with happiness, Spiderkit-no, Spiderpaw - jumped down and practically bounced over to Ravenmoon, before calming himself. He touched noses with her and immediately launched into questions. 'What will we do first? Will I learn to hunt or fight? When can we explore? Oh, should I say goodbye to my littermates?' The tom paused briefly, tilting his head with a glance back to his mother and littermates. Dovetail was practically glowing with pride, while Thornkit looked slightly jealous.

Dovetail couldn't help her chest swelling with pride as she saw two of her kits become apprentices. She only wished that- banish that line of thinking. They watched from StarClan, she was sure. For now, it was all about Spiderpaw and Treepaw, the newest apprentices!
