"Rosekit!" Berryfrost said running to the sick kit, "What happened?!" She asked

"River..." she mewled stutteringly and coughed more water and blood. She winced in pain from the ton of water she had injested in her tiny stomach and lungs. The fever had gotton worse and Her eyes began to close again as she breathed slowwer.

"Oh Rosekit, how could I let this happen" Berryfrost cried out "Let me dry her" she said, laying down next to the small wet kit, licking her fur backwards to dry her and warm her up.

Mouse then was about to go to sleep when she saw Rosekit. "What happened?!" She mewed as she helped dry her. She was wide awake now. "Its ok, everything with be fine." She purred as she laid next to her trying to warm her up.

"She drowned in the river." Arcticstar said, her voice filled with worry. She searched in the stock, "where is Cloudedmist?" (The medicine cat died and now the apprentice is the medicine cat.)" she saw Cloudednist wasn't in the camp. Mouse-dung! she cursed as Rosekit coughed out blood and water again. "Catmint for white cough, green cough and black cough...." She quickly got a bunch of catmint and chewed it. "Here." She gave Rosekit some catmint to chew and her lungs seemed to ease abit. "Goldenrod....." She muttered as she fed Rosekit again. "Alright..." She felt relieved as Rosekit's cough eased. She padded out of the medicine den and sat on the stone.

Berryfrost curled around the little kit. Not leaving her side for anything. "Oh Rosekit" Berryfrost purred, "Your going to be ok, I won't let this stop you" she whispered pulling her body closer to the little kit.

"She will be fine." Arcticstar comforted Berryfrost and saw Flameleap. "Hey, want to collect herbs together?" She nudged Flameleap as she saw him blushing.

"I'm going to stay here tonight if that's alright Articstar" Berryfrost said sadly looking at the little kit, realizing how small she really is.

"It's alright." She purred, and padded away to find Flameleap.

Making sure the little kit was close to her warm belly she licked the little kit, long after she was already dry. I "won't leave until you can" she whispered to the kit, feeling a sense of responsibility for the accident, wishing she had been keeping a closer eye on her.
(Though she is not Rosekits mom she has sort of 'adopted' the little kit always wanting to be a mom)
