Normally this would be done at night,but she had been told to bring Wolfsong here now,and that is what she did.She sat down a ways away from the hole at the top of the cavern,which was the only spot where light was let in. There was a small circle of snow there,along with what seemed like something sprouting under it. Last time she had been here was right before leaf bare,and the flowers that normally grew were dying,so it was a nice surprise to see them getting ready to grow again.

Sunnykit and Cloudykit." she shook her head. "I worried about Petalpelt. I thought her heart was broken because the tom she loved would never truly love her.. And.. And when I asked her about it.. Do you know what she told me?" she asked finally looking at Berryfrost. "She told me that wasn't why her heart was broken. She told me that.. That her heart was broken because besides her kits.. The two cats she loved more than anyone in the world weren't here with her.. Me.. and you.." she started to cry now. "And we made plans you know.. Those kits were um.. 3 or 4 moons old I think when she died.. When they were 6 moons.. We were going to set off together.. We were going to find you. Petal said.. Either we'd find you and realize it was a better life there and go back for Rainy and Stormy.. Or we'd bring you home to them. But either way. We'd be complete again. It would be the three of us again. She said there was no one she could ever love more than she loved us.. And I felt the same way.. But I messed it up Berry.. It wasn't you it was me.. She got too far ahead of me and I couldn't save her.. And because I couldn't save her I got hurt and.. and.. we couldn't come after you.. All we wanted was you back and I messed that up for all of us!"
