xxxxmagpiecreek had just been about to retire for the night when she spotted the collection of cats near the highledge. the small, black she-cat blinked and tilted her head in curiosity. was something up? because it looked like almost all the high ranks were gathered. softstar looked worried.. and that was enough to set the warrior to worry too. magpiecreek started to walked over.

Willowing shook her head. "I don't know. I don't have a good feeling about this, though. Have you seen Greypool or Crossgaze? I haven't seen them yet...they might've gone on a early patrol?" She looked at her leader, hoping it was the case...

softstar tilted her head as willowwing mentioned crossgaze, "no, crossgaze is here. but greypool did take beepaw out earlier today. they've been gone for some time now." she noticed magpiecreek make her way towards the group, and gave the she-cat a quick lick on her forehead.

"hey, did greypool mention when she'd be back from her session with beepaw?" the leader asked, shifting on her paws. it didn't bother her too much if the medicine cats were unaware of the whereabouts of the warrior and her apprentice- it wasn't their resposibility, afterall. she could only hope that her mate had some information.

xxxxmagpiecreek blinked before saying, “no, but greypool was really eager to start training with beepaw..” the she-cat then glanced out at camp entrance, “I hope they’ve only lost track of time.. maybe we should go out and check on them?” magpiecreek glanced worriedly at softstar, her green eyes hoping that the pair hadn’t met any trouble.

Russetfang was in the warrior's den with others, grooming herself after a full day's work. She'd trained Stingpaw in hunting that morning, and in fighting later that afternoon, and was quite satisfied with the progress they'd made. It was about time for the dusk patrol, though, and so she walked out of the den to see who was immediately available. She was rather surprised to see Softstar conferring with the medicine cats. Did they receive an omen, I wonder? She padded up to the growing group with a nod towards first Softstar and her mate, then the medicine cats. "Hello, everyone. I'm about to assemble the dusk patrol, but is something the matter?"

(OOC question for jay- how will the cats know that the rogue wasn't the killer and know to vote, assuming her smell is in the area?)

He huffed as he awoke, a bit later than normal. He'd taken a small nap after training, and had only been out for maybe half an hour? He shook his head to awaken himself. He yawned briefly before standing up and stretching. He sat down to let himself wake up, before quickly standing up and padding out of the den, adjusting to the light quickly. He looked at the commotion with a flick of his tail, wondering what had happened.
He stepped just a bit closer to the cats talking, frowning, before shrugging and sitting down on the outskirts of camp, looking around to see what was happening.
His ears flicked and he lowered his head to lick his paws and then groom his face, unsure of what was occurring within camp.

Cranekit glanced around, bored. Seeing Stingpaw, the young she-cat trotted over to the apprentice. "How was training today?" she asked, ignoring the cluster of cats near high rock.

Willowing looked up at their leader. "Can we go look for them? I don't have a good feeling about this...something seems off, Softstar. I'll take some warriors with me, if needed."

xxxxmagpiecreek nodded her head at the deputy in a show of respect. the warrior then mewed, “greypool and beepaw are out late.. we’re worried.” soon after, willowwing started to talk and magpiecreek gazed at the medicine cat apprentice for a moment. willowwing was right, something did seem off about the whole thing. that was when she spotted cranekit, and magpiecreek’s eyes followed the little white kit all the way to the apprentice before returning to the conversation at hand.
