Murderers in Riverclan V.3 [welcome back!]

Reedpelt raised his head with infinite weariness to meet his leader's furious gaze. The big tom's heart lurched with a fresh stab of pain when he heard what Foxstar said, but he slowly nodded, though the idea made him sick. They had to do something... but what if they were wrong? What if they attacked and chased an innocent away? Then they'd be easy prey for the murderer. They might well be condemning a cat to death! But it had to be done, didn't it...? Who could it be? Who would be so vicious as to kill a kit? He couldn't believe any of his clanmates capable of it, not really; and most definitely he knew that it couldn't be his daughters. No, it had to be an adult cat, surely! The warrior sat down slowly, rather miserably looking around to see who was already there and who was coming out. Foxstar just seemed too upset for it to be him. Mosswish was mercurial, but surely that would make her too unfocused to be a killer. And that left... Reedpelt turned his amber gaze to Stoatheart first, then looked to Hollythorn. But he couldn't help shaking his head in disbelief. No, he would wait to say anything- he couldn't bear to be the first to stir up suspicion. Ah... that must be the killer's goal. To foment fear and distrust; to tear them apart, both through physical and mental means. And the worst part? It was working. Starclan help us all!

onyxpaw raised her head, her eyes focusing on silverkit, who was curled up beside her. her ears were muffled, as she had slept on them the night before. she slowly got up, making sure not to wake her sister, she stood up. she quietly stepped outside of the den, before freezing at seeing the other cats. she shakily whispered "w-whats wrong?". she wasn't used to seeing the angry, and sad faces of her clan-mates. it could only mean one thing. "n-no..." she whispered, her tail falling as her eyes dilated in shock. it now struck her, she hadn't seen magpiekit in the nursery. "N-NO!" she shrieked, her ears pinning back. "p-please tell me he's alive and well, PLEASE!"

The medicine cat solemnly padded up to Foxstar, nosing at the kit's limp body. His fur was damp and cold; it was clear that there was no sign of life since very late the previous night. Hollythorn glanced over at the apprentice and blinked at her sympathetically. Even though they were from separate litters, he figured that Onyxpaw and Silverkit must have formed a close bond between siblings, and losing the only other cat to keep her company must have devastated the young kit. In a low voice, nearly choking on the sobs of his own, he mewed, "I'm sorry. There's nothing we-- I can do."

her yellow eyes widened, before she let out a low whine. even though she and magpiekit weren't related, she had formed a intense bond with him. she walked up to his body before nuzzling him gently. she stepped back, her eyes staring hollowly at the ground.

The young tom watched as his clan mates moved around and began talking. Their voices became silent to his ears as he stared down at the ground deep in thought. Grief was making him over think things, his eyes scanning over the group of cats. Why isn't Mosswish here? He looked again. She isn't here. The tom sighed, furrowing his brow. The deputy cared too much for her clan, but.. a tinge of fear rose in his chest. It isn't her. He looked up at Reedpelt, and noticed his gaze towards Hollythorn. Hollythorn? Could he really kill a kit, and Breezefire? Doubt filled his chest. He had to decide, Foxstar wanted him to decide. He wanted them all to decide. To cast blame away from himself?
The tom bit down on his tongue, quickly standing and moving away from the noise. As he laid down next to the warriors den, he buried his face in his paws.
"I don't know what to do.." He mumbled to himself, half expecting an answer. He soon wondered what it was like having hope in Starclan- but soon that faded, too.

Silverkit shifted in her nest, feeling cold. Blinking as she awoke, she glanced around. "Onyxpaw? " She asked, frightened something had happened to her sister. Getting to her paws, she rushed to only see her Magpiekit was still. "What's going on?" She asked, crouching close to Onyxpaw.

The tom looked up and saw Silverkit, and his eyes filled with tears. He felt bad for her, knowing that she had to endure what was going on at such a young age.
A sigh left his throat, and he began focusing on his thoughts again. I think it's Mosswish. He attempted to push the idea out of his mind, but a shiver went through him as he really thought. Who could've easily taken the kit out of camp? Magpiekit would've trusted her. Being the deputy, maybe she is more... persuasive than others?
The tom shut his eyes once more. He would wait to make his accusation verbal, when it was more appropriate.

The ginger tom's eyes then softened from their fiery gaze when his eyes fell upon the small Silverkit. The leader then slowly padded towards the young she-kit and dipped his head low towards her. "Magpiekit went to go play with his parents in StarClan, young one..." He managed to say without breaking, as much as he wanted to. No cat should have to explain to a kit on what happened to their denmate and clanmate. Foxstar then lifted his head and looked around at the cats that gathered around. "We must vote someone out, if we don't we get the possibility of another cats innocent blood on our paws, whoever we exile, we must not kill in case they are innocent, which we will then retrieve them afterwards," he said to the clan as he then took a deep sigh, "My vote is for Reedpelt," he then looked over at the tom before lowering his head, "I am sorry."
