Finding the Sun (Canine RP)

After Riptide began to wag his tail River knew he wouldn't take it as a challenge if she made eye contact with him. She lifted her gaze from the ground and asked "How are you feeling? I know we just met, but I wonder if the demon wolf that attacked you is the same one that killed my mother." River felt the words "killed my mother" tug on her heart. She didn't try to think about her mothers death even though it haunted her dreams. Tears started to well up in her bright green eyes and she tried to push them back. She was alone an orphan now even though she was part of the pack her mother was now dead and she never knew her father. She quickly turned her head for Riptide not to see her crying she was a fighter not a softy.

[[ yes, that's fine. I can't post right now, but I will asap. Some good ways are to be in danger/being attacked (Rain introduced himself that way, and riptide) or just coming up and talking to someone. It doesn't really matter. ]]

Riptide's jaws opened in a gasp. "Whoa.... Well, I'm okay... I'm so sorry." He wasn't exactly shocked- that wolf hadn't seemed to been just defending his territory. Then he cocked his head. "Whoa there- did you just call the guy a whaaaat? A demon?"

[*MoonSong*]

"Yes, possibly a demon. They are all over this forest now with the sun being gone. Demons look like regular animals for the most part but their eyes aren't right. Their blood taste horrible as well too. But than again it could of just been a rogue wolf gone mad." River twitched her ears listening to the forest around them. "They might even be spying on us this very moment, so just be careful Riptide. This world is not the world we once knew. I'll be right back." She said as she darted off into the forest. River crouched waiting for the perfect moment to spring onto the rabbit she heard. With the rabbits back facing her she leaped onto her expecting prey. The rabbit struggled for a moment before it went lifeless in her mouth. She ran back to where Riptide was and placed the dead rabbit in front of him. With her nose she pushed it closer to him. "Here you'll need your strength if your going to heal fast. I don't want any I ate a rat earlier. By the way welcome to the Sawtooth Pack."

Riptide looked up at her. "Thanks, and... well, I'm glad I'm welcome." He dug into the rabbit happily, as if he had never eaten. The flesh tasted warm and good on his tongue. Huh, he thought. Imagine being watched by a demon!
Or maybe even that dude they call Death. Suddenly a chill ra through his spine. What was that from? Riptide had a bad feeling the answer wasn't a positive one.

Toko rolled his eyes at the pups attempts and twisted around quickly, sending Torka flying. Stifling a laugh, and glad to be distracted from the worries of the Sun-less life, he bounded over to the pup and asked, "Are you okay?" An amused grin was on his face and without waiting for an answer he sat back on his haunches and cuffed Torka on the head.

"Thank you Haru," August murmured, "I'm perfectly fine, and my shoulder is feeling much better. I'm not too sure about Rain..." she trailed off, looking questioningly at the newcomer.

@Kortny: Hmm... I didn't really think of that. But really, the mouthneck comes out of one of his throats, so it's more or less connected to the same throat. I suppose it might be possible to growl through it, though ^^; ]]

Ayet smiled at the wolves, forgetting he was supposed to be aggressive and threatening in front of Jaques. "Yes, eating would be good. Young pups like yourselves need to eat, so you can be big strong wolves!" He said, nudging Ryo with his snout. "Let's go catch some fish, alright? While walking a bit closer to the lake, he leaned over to Snowdrift. "What is it you were going to show me?" He asked, looking over at the female wolf, his expression now serious. He hoped it was something good...

Snowdrift smiled and trotted over to where she had made the shelter "this,I made it I thought if we all did this it would be safer. Plus it would be a good insulator if we fut some grass on it. It it would be less cold for everyone" she said. She thought gosh I'm so dumb, I can't think of anything that would benefit the pack. Only if he says 'yes its a good idea', I won't tear it down. It would look stupid to. Snowdrift kneaded the ground and wondered what Ayet was thinking.

"I'm going to see what Snowdrift made Riptide it was nice talking with you." River said as she to Riptide before she walked over to investigate the thing Snowdrift built. "So this thing keeps the cold out?" River asked her. "Do you think we could make a bigger one that more wolves could sleep in together so we would be extra warm at night?" She said looking at Snowdrift. "You're really good at building things. I wonder if you could make a demon trap."

Riptide gulped down the rest of the rabbit and went over to see what Snowrift and Rain were doing. "Cool," he murmured as he looked at the structure. "How do you come up with it?" he asked Snowdrift. "The ideas, I mean. I could never think of doing this in like, three million years." He sniffed the enterior of the den and felt his fur stand up.

He smelled the demon he had seen earlier.
Was he, Riptide wondered, coming for him?
