Shelooked among her clan before speaking again. "As we all know in more recent moons training has been unorthodox and unacceptable for the health of our clan. And I've been pondering since taking over on how each apprentice their mentors," she spoke. She looked at the apprentices.

He looked at icepaw. "Seems we are getting mentors," he said. He puffed his chest fur pleased with the revelation

Cheetahpaw dipped her head to the Queens and kits. She hurried off to the group of apprentices.

The tom looked up at nightstar. He flicked his ears listening to her.

[After Hours]

Excitement fizzed in Winterpaw’s heart, vibrating wildly off of her ribs. It was all she could do to keep herself from shaking with excitement. Now isn’t the time to go acting a fool. Secretly casting a glance at Summerpaw, she smiled slightly at the promise that they would train hard, and hopefully together. We’ll just have to see.

Without waiting for a response, Gentlestream sat down quickly as her leader started addressing the cats of Starlightclan. This moment was too important for Gentlestream to worry about bothering other cats with her presence. She looked up earnestly at her leader, ready for an apprentice of her own, but also ready to understand if she wasn’t picked. There are other ways to help my clan, and I’ll make sure I excel at all of them.

Gulping hard as Nightstar’s commanding gaze swept past him, Dewpaw readied himself for the announcement that would determine his future. Whatever happens, whoever I get, I’ll work hard. I’ll make everyone proud to call me a clanmate, just watch me.

Watching her leader address the clan about the dire need for training, Ivysoar couldn’t steady her beating heart. It beat harder and harder against her chest until she felt as though the weight of it would dig her into the ground beneath her paws. You can do anything Ivykit, I believe in you. An encouraging voice she couldn’t put a face to, her mother or maybe even her father, range in her head. She sucked in a quick breath between her teeth. This is the future of my clan, and that matters more to me than any anxiety I could ever feel. Calming herself at last, she blinked for the first time in confidence at her leader. If I get picked, I will make sure the stars approve my training techniques. I will grow this clan into greatness, if it’s the last thing I do.

The red classic tabby purred as he sat and listened. He nodded to what the leader had said, and he looked to the apprentices. He called “What are the mentor apprentice assignments?” He assumed she’d figured out who to pair up, so he figured he’d ask.

The beautiful black she cat blinked as she looked at the other. She nodded at the similarly dark colored she cat. She felt warm when the other asked that…She nodded and said “Yes…but I was actually looking for both of you honestly,” as she actually admitted it. She felt a weight lift off her, but only a bit. It wasn’t like she told either of them she actually had a crush on them. Shaking her head, she said “Sure, I’d like that.” She was responding to Moonshadow saying she’d go with her to find Nightfrost.

She grabbed a piece of prey, just in time too it seemed. Her ears went back then forward as she heard the call of Nightstar. She tilted her head, and silently wondered what that was about. She glanced around, and finally laid eyes on Nightfrost. Saying “Oh, there he is…He doesn’t seem intent on moving, though he must have heard the call to come to a meeting. Should we go over there anyway, and get him?” she asked. She didn’t want Moonshadow to feel like a babysitter though, having to get Nightfrost.

Just basically to acknowledge the others were there. They tilted their head as they looked at Winterpaw. She purred again, and said “I slept fine, how did you sleep?” She looked around a the others once more. Hawkpaw, Icepaw, and Frostpaw had already headed off to sit. They shook their head at this, then focused on their sister again. She loved her sister, despite the dry, sarcastic and overbearing parts of her personality. Summerpaw knew her sister wasn’t only dry, sarcastic and overbearing. She had good traits as well. They nodded at her, and said “Yeah.” They quickly followed her toro sit.

The pretty chocolate pointed cream she cat glanced to Cheetahpaw as well. She nodded and said “Yeah…you should probably go up closer. This may be the assignments for all your mentors. Which means you need to be closer to Nightstar and everything.” She shook her head a couple times. Then glanced to the kits a moment and smiled, saying “Be good over there.” She knew she and Blizzardbreeze would of course keep an eye on the kits. There was no way they could actually get in trouble.

The white marked black kit purred as she went with the other kits. She stared up at Cheetahpaw, and nodded at her. Then looked to Specklekit and said “She probably means from the prey pile. She probably means we can help pick it from there.” She then turned to look at their mothers, as Specklekit asked a question. She got excited when the two said they could all go to see the meeting.

The flame pointed cream kitten shook his head a couple times. He purred and flicked his tail back and forth a couple times. He smirked at his brother, whom happened to be smaller than both him and Darkkit. Sunkit was the runt of the litter, as it were. Maybe not the runt, since usually mothers would ignore runts. He was much smaller than his brother and sister, though.

The smaller and slender golden and white kitten looked up at Whitekit. Then quickly looked away as he stepped back a bit. He shook himself, and said “S…Sorry.” Even though he hadn’t run into the other kitten on purpose, Firekit had sent him stumbling against Whitekit.

The pretty long furred red, darker and minimal white she cat looked to the mouse, then the squirrel. She didn’t want to reject his food offer. She said “Shadowcry, would you like that mouse?” She smiled as she looked back to Shadowcry after a moment. She said “Also, of course, if you want the mouse…I know it’s kind of small. It may not be enough,” she said. She’d lived off of mice and chipmunks herself for a long time.

She continued to purr as the other she cat continued to groom her. The purring didn’t quiet, in fact it might only have gotten louder. She flicked her fluffy tail back and forth a couple times. Her ears twitched and perked, and she nodded at the other she cat. She made a cat sound, which would have been a giggle if she were human. She said “They sure don’t settle down much, do they?”

She didn’t mind it so much, though. She nodded and purred more as her mate had agreed to letting Shadowcry have the mouse. She said “Thank you,” to her mate, because she didn’t really know what else to say. Thank you seemed an appropriate enough thing to say here.

She squeaked a bit when the other she cat kicked her between the ears. She flicked her tail back and forth rapidly, which humans considered as wagging. She listened as her mate asked the Tom how he’d slept. Her mate was always so caring and kind. She glanced to the male, who was also a pretty great cat. They weren’t mates, but he wanted to be in the lives of his kits. She liked that about him, and was glad he was like that. She glanced to her mate again, and nosed at her a bit, then heard the leader making an announcement.

He sat there listening to the meeting going, his eyes looked at the apprentices here and there, wondering what they all could feel at the moment. He could see the excitement and nervousness on their faces thought.

He looked up to the leader and narrowed his eyes to the deputy a little bit who was asking the leader the question of who was mentoring which apprentice. He didn't know why could the leader be so nervous about holding a meeting, about something as important as giving the youngsters someone to teach them to become a warrior.

She noticed the look Winterpaw gave her way for a few moments, which made her wonder if it had any meaning or was all just inside her own head. She followed the other and sat next to the Dewpaw, she felt rather shy when she did that, but she also felt good, she was proud of herself that she dared to do it.

She looked at the meeting starting there, just like she already guessed it was about the mentors to the apprentices, which was good as now all of the youngsters have the chance to have the training they need and the clan has more cats to protect them if something happens.

She sat near her mother and looked around the camp excited even if she was not part of the meetings as she was not old enough to have a mentor yet. She was excited to see which warriors could be mentoring who so she could maybe have a little clue who could stay without an apprentice now and likely become her mentor when the time came.

He sighed a bit as he looked at the two other kits, then turned his gaze toward the clan leader and the clan listening to the meeting. His ears perked a bit when the leader started to speak and heard the deputy asking her the question 'Can the leader become nervous during the meeting as well?' he thought to himself.

The blind elder was sleeping in the elder's den, unaware of the prey her sister brought to her as she didn't even wake up to the fresh scent of the prey or the faint calls for her sister there. Flicking her ears she did wake up to the call of the clan leader, who was much older as it needed to be heard by the whole clan and anyone inside there. Yawning she smelled the prey near the camp entrance and got a fresh scent of her sister there as well, standing up she took the prey to her mouth and carried it out of the den to eat it near the den entrance so she could listen to the meeting.

She woke up earlier and took some small prey out of the fresh-kill pile and brought it to the elder's den for her sister in there. Calling her a few times, but after noticing how deep in sleep she was she just let the prey there and walked back out to let her sleep in peace. She groomed her fur a bit, flicking her ears for the call, before turning to look around the camp for all the cats gathering around there.

He sighed "No that mouse is fine, I don't need more than that," he said then turned around "There is a meeting going on if you want to see it," he said as he took the mouse and walked out to listen to the meeting going on.

She sat near her mother and looked around the camp excited even if she was not part of the meetings as she was not old enough to have a mentor yet. She was excited to see which warriors could be mentoring who so she could maybe have a little clue who could stay without an apprentice now and likely become her mentor when the time came.

His ears perked a bit when the leader started to speak and heard the deputy asking her the question 'Can the leader become nervous during the meeting as well?' he thought to himself.

The blind elder was sleeping in the elder's den, unaware of the prey her sister brought to her as she didn't even wake up to the fresh scent of the prey or the faint calls for her sister there. Flicking her ears she did wake up to the call of the clan leader, who was much older as it needed to be heard by the whole clan and anyone inside there. Yawning she smelled the prey near the camp entrance and got a fresh scent of her sister there as well, standing up she took the prey to her mouth and carried it out of the den to eat it near the den entrance so she could listen to the meeting.

She woke up earlier and took some small prey out of the fresh-kill pile and brought it to the elder's den for her sister in there. Calling her a few times, but after noticing how deep in sleep she was she just let the prey there and walked back out to let her sleep in peace. She groomed her fur a bit, flicking her ears for the call, before turning to look around the camp for all the cats gathering around there.

He could not take that feeling out of his mind that he had almost his whole kittenhood, how he was a failure to his father, and now he felt like he was a failure to his unborn kits as well. He sighed "No that mouse is fine, I don't need more than that," he said then turned around "There is a meeting going on if you want to see it," he said as he took the mouse and walked out to listen to the meeting going on.

The red classic tabby watched the apprentice approach. He touched noses with her, then nodded at her. Before sitting back down, since he’d stood up at that moment. He curled his tail around his paws and glanced to Nightstar, waiting for her to continue the meeting.

The beautiful black she cat blinked as she looked at the other. She nodded at the similarly dark colored she cat. She felt warm when the other asked that…She nodded and said “Yes…but I was actually looking for both of you honestly,” as she actually admitted it. She felt a weight lift off her, but only a bit. It wasn’t like she told either of them she actually had a crush on them. Shaking her head, she said “Sure, I’d like that.” She was responding to Moonshadow saying she’d go with her to find Nightfrost.

She grabbed a piece of prey, just in time too it seemed. Her ears went back then forward as she heard the call of Nightstar. She tilted her head, and silently wondered what that was about. She glanced around, and finally laid eyes on Nightfrost. Saying “Oh, there he is…He doesn’t seem intent on moving, though he must have heard the call to come to a meeting. Should we go over there anyway, and get him?” she asked. She didn’t want Moonshadow to feel like a babysitter though, having to get Nightfrost.

Just basically to acknowledge the others were there. They tilted their head as they looked at Winterpaw. She purred again, and said “I slept fine, how did you sleep?” She looked around a the others once more. Hawkpaw, Icepaw, and Frostpaw had already headed off to sit. They shook their head at this, then focused on their sister again. She loved her sister, despite the dry, sarcastic and overbearing parts of her personality. Summerpaw knew her sister wasn’t only dry, sarcastic and overbearing. She had good traits as well. They nodded at her, and said “Yeah.” They quickly followed her to sit.

The pretty chocolate pointed cream she cat glanced to Cheetahpaw as well. She nodded and said “Yeah…you should probably go up closer. This may be the assignments for all your mentors. Which means you need to be closer to Nightstar and everything.” She shook her head a couple times. Then glanced to the kits a moment and smiled, saying “Be good over there.” She knew she and Blizzardbreeze would of course keep an eye on the kits. There was no way they could actually get in trouble.

The white marked black kit purred as she went with the other kits. She stared up at Cheetahpaw, and nodded at her. Then looked to Specklekit and said “She probably means from the prey pile. She probably means we can help pick it from there.” She then turned to look at their mothers, as Specklekit asked a question. She got excited when the two said they could all go to see the meeting.

The flame pointed cream kitten shook his head a couple times. He purred and flicked his tail back and forth a couple times. He smirked at his brother, whom happened to be smaller than both him and Darkkit. Sunkit was the runt of the litter, as it were. Maybe not the runt, since usually mothers would ignore runts. He was much smaller than his brother and sister, though.

The smaller and slender golden and white kitten looked up at Whitekit. Then quickly looked away as he stepped back a bit. He shook himself, and said “S…Sorry.” Even though he hadn’t run into the other kitten on purpose, Firekit had sent him stumbling against Whitekit.

The pretty long furred red, darker and minimal white she cat continued to purr as the other she cat continued to groom her. The purring didn’t quiet, in fact it might only have gotten louder. She flicked her fluffy tail back and forth a couple times. Her ears twitched and perked, and she nodded at the other she cat. She made a cat sound, which would have been a giggle if she were human. She said “They sure don’t settle down much, do they?”

She didn’t mind it so much, though. She nodded and purred more as her mate had agreed to letting Shadowcry have the mouse. She said “Thank you,” to her mate, because she didn’t really know what else to say. Thank you seemed an appropriate enough thing to say here.

She squeaked a bit when the other she cat kicked her between the ears. She flicked her tail back and forth rapidly, which humans considered as wagging. She listened as her mate asked the Tom how he’d slept. Her mate was always so caring and kind. She glanced to the male, who was also a pretty great cat. They weren’t mates, but he wanted to be in the lives of his kits. She liked that about him, and was glad he was like that. She glanced to her mate again, and nosed at her a bit, then heard the leader making an announcement.

She nodded to the male cat, as he stood or sat there. She said “Okay,” when he said he’d take the mouse, and it would be enough for him. She then nodded once more, as he spoke of the meeting. They could actually hear it from here, so she stayed where she was.
