The white and red tabby male saw Eveningdusk, and felt his heart beat begin to speed up. He then quickly looked away, afraid if the leader saw that she'd know something was up. Frostflame had an assigned mate, so he had to be careful here. He knew he'd have to have a relationship in secret. That just seemed the most likely way of things.

Blinking, he sighed as he looked towards the apprentice den for a moment. He nodded at Patchslash, saying “You’re right.” Frostflame shook his head some. He glanced at Ivyhope, saying “You’re fine to fish if you want. Fish have oils and fats that are good for the Queens.” Shaking his head, he said “Let’s head out now. If Sunpaw gets up anytime soon, she’ll see us heading out, or she’ll ask Silentstar where we went. Otherwise…she’ll just stay here and do something. It seems like Milkpaw may have slept in too,” he mentioned. He led the way to the camp entrance, and stepped out. He then headed for the river, and looked back at the others. As they were walking, he suddenly became aware of something. He thought he heard a yowling from the direction of the river, and asked “Do you all hear that?”

(Going to leave this, since they should have all heard the howling since they’re heading to the river too)

The silver tabby and white she cat watched as the others showed up. She was relieved, though that was short lived when it was announced Milkpaw wasn’t coming. Ravenberry didn’t sound happy about that…Duststorm shook her head, and glanced back a moment. Silentstar seemed to be caught up in thought. Duststorm wondered what that was about, but said nothing. She said “Okay,” to Ravenberry, then quickly followed the patrol leader. She glanced to Sweetcloud and Rosefall a moment, then kept walking.

The white furred young one winced a bit as two apprentices were mentioned…Shaking his head, he followed after the others. As Frostflame spoke, Ghostpaw said “I…I think I hear it, it sounds like a cat in pain or anguish.” He then glanced to the others. He didn’t know if they’d not heard it or were ignoring it…They should have heard it.

The brown furred young one nodded to her mentor, saying “good morning. I hope you…slept well,” she said, not really knowing what else to say. Shaking her head, she quickly fell silent then. She followed after the adult cats, listening to her mentor speak to Yarrowsplash. She watched the two a moment. They all continued to walk, and soon arrived to the sunning rocks. She looked around a bit, and let out a small sigh. She then shook her head, and had tensed when she’d heard the yowls. She stared at the she cat…so still, so quiet. She let a small sound of nerves and fear escape her, and moved closer to Bristleglare. Like she was trying to hide behind or in front of him. She didn’t want to see the body of the other she cat any longer…
