ADDERSTRIKE 2
❝Let your soul stand cool and composed before a million Universes.❞
gender; Male age; 25 Moons rank; Warrior (Wants Deputy) crush/mate; None apprentice; Onyxpaw sexuality; Pansexual and Poly
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Annoyed location; Heading out to hunt mentions; Hawkthroat, Silentstar, Silverpaw, Shadestep, Wiltedleaf, Iceheart, Dewpaw, Onyxpaw, Quietstorm tagged; Hawkthroat, Silentstar, Silverpaw, Iceheart, Onxyxpaw, Cliffpaw

indentationAdderstrike bowed his head when the leader spoke. He sensed he had hit a nerve that he didn't mean to hit so he backed down. "Of course Silentstar. My apologies if I stepped out of line. I was only trying to offer my assistance with anything needed of me." Adderstrike dipped his head to his leader as she gave him cats to take on patrol. "Of course, I will find them and head out immediatly. Thank you." Hawkthroat had come up behind him while Adderstrike had been talking to Silentstar. Adderstrike smiled at his comment about his siblings. He knew where the older tom was going with it, but he refused to give Hawkthroat the satisfaction of getting to him.
indentation"Good morning Hawkthroat. Just offering as we have nothing else to do later as of now." Adderstrike was silent as the two older cats were talking to one another. He kept his mouth shut while they were talking about patrols. He only stayed in case he was needed for anything else. The two were still conversing so Adderstrike dipped his head to the leader and older warrior. He noticed Silverpaw behind Hawkthroat and nodded a good morning to Silverpaw and was on his way to gather his patrol.
indentationAdderstrike looked about, looking for his apprentice. He spotted Onyxpaw talking to Cliffpaw near the camp entrance. They looked like they were talking about something private, so Adderstrike thought he would make it brief so they could talk while he gathered the rest of the hunting party. He padded over and cleared his throat so that his presence didn't intimidate the younger, smaller cats. "Onypaw, I was looking for you. I'm going out hunting with Iceheart and Dewpaw and I thought it would be good for you to come along and get some more hunting experience. I can teach you some new moves if you would like. I have some techniques for hunting rabbits and birds especially."
indentationAdderstrike gave Onyxpaw a friendly smile. He liked to think that he was a good mentor, he really tried to make Onyxpaw feel comfortable and do what she liked doing. He tried to be friendly with her and teach her tips and trick and skills that he learned in hunting, fighting, and using his words. He wanted to show Onyxpaw the importance of words and how it can prevent many needless battles, injuries, and deaths. He wanted to be a good mentor to Onyxpaw and get her to be comfortable with herself as a warrior and do the best for her clan. "I'll give you two time to finish chatting while I go get Iceheart and Dewpaw. Meet me by the camp entrance, and when you two are done chatting Onyxpaw if you would go get Quietstrom I am supposed to take them as well, Thank you. Good morning Cliffpaw." Adderstrike nodded his head to the other apprentice and padded off to find Iceheart and Dewpaw.
indentationAdderstrike caught sight of the black tom up in the branches of a tree, perched, watching the camp clearing. Adderstrike was amazed that he even saw the black tom in the first place. Adderstrike shook his head. Of course he had to be up there. Adder strike to a breath and scaled the tree, with some difficulty he made his way up to the branch what Iceheart was perched. He wasn't quiet about it so as to not startle Iceheart. Panting Adderstrike pulled himself up onto the branch level with Iceheart. "I don't understand the appeal of climbing trees, Iceheart. It's so hard to balance up here. I think I would rather have all four paws on the ground." Adderstrike wobbled on the branch, his claws digging into the bark, clinging on for dear life so he didn't fall out of the tree. Anyway, I'm supposed to take you and Dewpaw hunting. So if you could meet me by the camp enterance that would be great. But for now I think I'm going to get down from here." Adderstrike chuckled nervously before slowly climbing down from the tree, nearly falling multiple times on the way down. Once he was on all four paws on the ground he shook himself and looked back around. heading back into the camp to wait for his patrol.

SHADESTEP 3
❝Don't study me, you'll never graduate.❞
gender; Male age; 25 Moons rank; Warrior crush/mate; Wiltedleaf apprentice; None sexuality; Demisexual - Demoromantic
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Calm and Happy location; Eating with Wiltedleaf mentions; Wiltedleaf, Shivergale, Blackberrypaw tagged; Wiltedleaf

indentationShadestep's breath quickened as his heart rate accelerated quickly. He wondered if Wiltedleaf could hear his heart. It sounded so loud in his ears. Shadestep's ears twitched as he noticed her shifting closer to him. For the first time in many moons her let out an automatic purr. He didn't know why it left him, he didn't know what had caused it, but he wasn't planning on stopping it or forcing it down. He took her moving closer to him as an invitation and he started to groom her fur. Hesitantly at first, making sure he wasn't getting too much into her space. But then he got into the rhythm of it, his tongue rasping over her pelt, removing scraps of moss from her pelt that she had missed when she got up from her nest.
indentationShadestep let out a small rumble of a laugh that came from deep in his chest at her comment. "I would always save you. Always protect you." Was that too much? Was he being too straight forward. Did Wiltedleaf even return his affections, or was this simply just friends. He wished it was more. He hoped it was more. He wanted it to be more. He needed it to be more. He would throw himself into any danger to protect her. As long as she was here, everything was perfect. Shadestep decided on a test, to see if her feelings for him were mutual. Shadestep took a breath and pressed the top of his head into her neck and shoulder area. Her scent washed over him and immediately all his worries, his doubts were drowned by her citric pine scent. His muscles relaxed and his purrs became deeper and more loving, he didn't care at this point. All he knew was that he needed her close to him. Needed to protect her.
indentationWiltedleaf had told him about her past and how her mother had pushed herself too hard causing her siblings except for her brother Shivergale to die shortly after birth. He felt sad for her. He was not a very emotional cat, but this moved him. How could a cat that had gone through so many terrible tragedies, be as strong as Wiltedleaf was. Sometimes her body was weak and unable to preform her duties, but Shadestep had always been there to step up and take some extra weight off her shoulders. Telling her to get better so that they could hunt together. Back then he had always thought that was what friendship was. But now, looking back. He realized that he really cared for this she-cat. To him, she wasn't a weak sickly cat. To Shadestep, Wiltedleaf was a strong and independent flame, burning bright inside a broken body. The she, despite being born weaker and sick, she was stronger than most cats Shadestep knew. She was stronger than Shadestep himself could ever be.
indentationShadestep felt his pelt grow warm as Wiltedleaf started to eat the rabbit. He had grabbed the last one because he knew that it was Wiltedleaf''s favorite and to give him an excuse to share prey and possibly tongues with her. Shadestep started grooming her shoulder and back while she ate. His tongue gently rasping over her fur. He groomed her more gently than he would have any other cat. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable but he also didn't want to hurt her, being the large stocky tom he was. "Perhaps I should keep you company during the night to watch over you and make sure you get adequate sleep?" Shadestep said this in the same monotone voice he always talked in, but there was a slight hint of worry in his tone. He didn't know what caused it. He was never good at expressing emotions to other cats, but Wiltedleaf was different. She had been able to pick up even the slightest tone changes in his deep voice. She knew he wasn't a cat who conveyed his emotion via words. But as far as Shadestep knew she was able to pick up even the smallest of signs, when most cats would think him stoney and cold-hearted. Somehow Wiltedleaf cared about him for who he was and didn't expect anything that he wouldn't be able to give her.
indentationShadestep purred again when he noticed how much she enjoyed the prey he had saved for her. It was good to know that she appreciated it. "I'm glad you like it, Wiltedleaf." He rumbled her name and it left a sweet taste on his tongue. It felt right. She had told him how her mother had, very cruelly, named her and her brother sickly names. But her name had a new meaning, at least to him. For Shadestep, Wiltedleaf was no longer a name to earn her pity, but a name to exemplify her strength. Showing how even through the darkest times there is hope. As she asked about the patrol, Shadestep was almost in too much of a daze to comprehend what she had said to him. Realizing that he had stopped grooming her and was gazing at her, watching her eat. He felt his pelt grow warm ans she asked, but then the last please made his shin under his fur burn. Shadestep looked at her and actually gave her a small smile nodding his head. "It would be an honor to keep you and Blackberrypaw company on your hunt."

IVYTHROAT 2
❝Sometimes I pretend to be normal, but it gets normal. So I go back to being me.❞
gender; Female age; 25 Moons rank; Warrior crush/mate; Open apprentice; None sexuality; Bisexual, Female leaning
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Energetic and Upbeat and Hungry location; Eating with Tigerheart mentions; Tigerheart tagged; Tigerheart

indentationIvythroat chuckled as Tigerheart looked at her. "Oh good! I was hoping you were headed that way. I'm starving." Tigerheart bumped back into Ivythroat's shoulder and she gasped dramatically. Being the over dramatic playful cat she is she staggered sideways and pretended to be trying to gain her feet. In the act of pretending to fall over Ivythroat actually toppled over. She lay on the ground laughing for a minute before pulling herself up. and shaking the dust off of her fur. She looked at him tears of laughter in her eyes and saw him bounding over to the prey pile. She shook out her fur again and trotted over to where he was standing. She was gasping for breath, trying to contain her fits of laughter. "Please tell me you didn't see that, it was so embarrassing. I tripped over my own four paws, just trying to mess around with you." Ivythroat finally managed to stifle her laughter and listen to what Tigerheart was asking her.
indentation"Pheasant sounds fine to me, but if you want something else feel free." Ivythroat was still panting trying to catch her breath and control her breathing. Why was that so funny? It was so dumb, but it was still hilarious.

FALCONFLIGHT 3
❝I am not lazy. I am on energy saving mode.❞
gender; Female age; 26 Moons rank; Queen (Warrior) crush/mate; Wingsplash apprentice; None sexuality; Heterosexual-romantic kits; Lynxkit, Strawberrykit, Flamingkit
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Content and Happy location; Nursery mentions; Pinecloud, Lynxkit, Flamingkit, Willowkit, Finchkit, Wingsplash tagged; Lynxkit, Flamingkit, Wingsplash

indentationFalconlight nodded to Pinecloud, showing the she heard the older queen. She looked at Lynxkit who was bouncing off the walls, almost literally. Lynxkit, Flamingkit, why don't you two go outside and play with Willowkit and Finchkit, i'm sure they would love to play catch the mossball with you, or you can play warriors. Just stay out from underneath the paws of the warriors, they have a lot to do." Falconflight nudged two of her three kits towards the entrance of the den, urging then to go play outside with the others. Falconflight looked up at her mate Wingsplash. "They are such a pawful." She muttered shaking her head, but smiling. She loved her kits dearly, but sometimes they were little troublemakers.
indentationFalconflight started to gather up all the flattened moss from the nests of the kits and the queens. making a pile in the corner near the entrance so that it was easier to take out when the time came. Picking up all the moss scraps from the den floor and piling them up with the other moss. Next were the prey bones that were in the far corner of the den. Those would need to be taken out as well. All in all Falconflight figured about 4 trips to get rid of everything and then ask some of the apprentices to bring more moss back when the come back from patrolling. "Wingsplash, would you make sure that the apprentices, at least a couple of them, bring back some moss for us, and I'm sure the elders den needs some as well. That would be amazing." Falconflight brushed up against the tom, winding her tail around his happily. She nuzzled her head into his neck and licked his cheek affectionately.

LYNXKIT 3
❝Your life does not get better by chance. Your life gets better by change.❞
gender; Female age; 2 Moons rank; Kitten crush/mate; None mentor; None Yet sexuality; Questioning
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Excited and Playful location; Camp clearing mentions; Falconflight, Flamingkit, Willowkit, Finchkit, Prancetail tagged; Willowkit, Prancetail

indentationLynxkit looked at her mother and squealed excitedly. Turning to Flamingkit she scampered over her sister and out into the camp. She looked around, blinking in the sudden light from the sun. She blinked rapidly in the brightness. She spotted Willowkit and Finchkit up ahead with Prancetail and Lynxkit scurried over. She crouched down and pounced on Willowkit, this time tackling her and purring loudly. "Ha! I got you!" Lynxkit mewed happily. She scrambled down off of Willowkit and helped her get up. "I'm sorry, Willowkit! Did I land on you too hard? I didn't mean to hurt you." Lynxkit would feel bad if she had hurt Willowkit.
indentationLynxkit bounced over to Prancetail and looked up at the warrior with huge admiring eyes. "Hi Prancetail! You should teach us some cool hunting and fighting moves!" The small kit squeaked in excitement and then scampered back over to Willowkit, crouching playfully and then darting around, wanting Willowkit to chase her or play fight with her. "I'm going to be the fiercest warrior that Sunclan has ever seen!" Lynxkit fluffed up her fur, making her look like a light tan cotton ball. She was all fluffed out and bouncing around still trying to get Willowkit, Flamingkit, even Finchkit to come after her.

SHIVERGALE 1
❝All you have to do is believe and have faith. When you believe, all things are possible.❞
gender; Male age; 48 Moons rank; Warrior crush/mate; Open apprentice; None Yet sexuality; No label
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Cautious and Friendly location; Warriors den mentions; Shadestep, Wiltedleaf tagged; open

indentationShivergale woke later than normal. Had patrols already gone out for the morning? He would have to catch the afternoon or evening patrol. He could always go out on his own and see what he could find hunting wise. maybe check the near border with the twoleg place, make sure there weren't any kittypets or loners about and trespassing. Pulling himself up out of his nest and out into the morning light, reluctantly ready to start the day. The first thing that caught his eye, much to his dismay, was his sister. More importantly his sister with a tom that wasn't him. They looked a little too close for Shivergale's liking. The tom was Shadestep. The cat that Wiltedleaf had been talking about nonstop for the past couple weeks or moons, Shivergale had tried to drown some of the constant talk out. Obviously he loved his sister, but him being the protective brother he felt that he had to take care of her just like he had when they were young.
indentationShivergale sat and watched the two from the other side of the clearing. He didn't feel like confronting them about it right now. This was the first time he had seen the two actually together outside patrols or hunting missions. There was some sort of jealousy nagging in his heart. This tom was stealing his precious sister that he swore to his father that he would protect. And he was taking up all the attention that she would normally give to him . What if she didn't have time for Shivergale anymore? What if they turn against him if he voices his thoughts to her? What if he hurt her and Shivergale had done nothing to stop it? He shook the thought out of his head. Shadestep was known to be a emotionless, un-social cat but they way he looked at Wiltedleaf... No. He wouldn't think about that. His brain was so all over the place. He needed time to think. Time to figure out what to do about the situation. As of now there was no reason to confront them. But one thing for certain, Shivergale was going to keep an eye on Shadestep, and make sure he didn't hurt his precious sister.

His ears flicked as the conversations happened at the nursery "Sure of course I can bring you whatever you want, dear...as long I am not needed anywhere else this morning, which is not likely a problem at all" he spoke up. He looked at Lynxkit with a purr "Sure I can play with you, but a maybe little bit later" he meowed to the little kit before turning to Flamingkit "Ah...I am not stopping you to change the beddings if you so wanted to, but I can't let you out to get the most for the nests" he meowed to her with an apology smile "Ah, how clever are you" he responded to her. He shook his head a little "Well then I could get you some moss hen and maybe look for a good spot for mice or something too, when I am out" he meowed with a smile. He turned to leave the nursery "See you soon dear, little rascals" he murmured as he walked to the clearing.

Iceheart - tom - warrior - crush: open - apprentice: Dewpaw - tags: Adderstrike, Dewpaw
>>
He watched the camp, too far to hear anything they were speaking down there as long some of them didn't scream or something. Not moving at the branch, his ice blue eyes turned to the brown tabby tom walking down the tree he was on, and silently watched as he started to climb up to the branch he was staying at. He looked at him when he spoke "Hah, you just don't have the skills bro" he responded to him with a smirk. He listened to the rest he needed to say "Hmm, supposed to...alright then...I am behind you then..." he said and stood up to the branch and started to climb down to the ground. He shook his black pelt for a moment, his eyes looked at his daughter Onyxpaw for a moment as she was pretty likely joining the same patrol 'Well then...we're are you Dewpaw...' he thought to himself as he looked around the clearing not seeing the apprentice anywhere 'must to be still sleeping' he wondered and walked into the apprentices den to check "Dewpaw, are you in here?" he called out before actually even looking indie the den.

Blackberrypaw - tom - apprentice - crush: open - mentor: Wiltedleaf- tags: open

He walked out of the apprentice's den alongside his sister, who for some reason took it as her job to make sure he got up early. He hated that she acted like a mother to him sometimes, but he did understand her points too, that he could give a better picture of himself to his mentor Wilterleaf, who seemed to be a very morning person. Yawning he sat down there and groomed his black fur a little bit, but he was still pretty alert for the cats going around him, shaking his head he turned to look at his mentor there sitting with Shadestep. He felt like they were middle of some important conversations, so he didn't want to bother them.

Onyxpaw - she - apprentice - crush: open - mentor: Adderstrike - tags: Cliffpaw, Adderstike, Quietstorm (m. Sandblossom, Cardinalcall, Honeybriar)
>>
She looked at Cliffpaw for a moment then turned to her mentor approving her there as well "Oh morning Adderstrike, yeah sure I would like to learn more about hunting rabbits and birds...Quickstorm? Uh okay I can get her for you then" she responded to her mentor, flicking her tail as she looked him go to get some of the others members coming to the patrols. She turned back to the Cliffpaw "I have not seen Flickerlight yet, so I guess you have some good time to have a walk by yourself, but I need to go to get Quietstorm now, see you again later maybe, Cliffpaw" she meowed to the tom and turned away to get to the warrior she needed to find. She saw her with the medicine cats and Honeybriar as well "Oh morning you all, sorry to bother you, but Quietstorm, Adderstrike wanted me to get you to a hunting patrol...If you want to join us?" she meowed to the she-warrior.

Flamingkit - she - kit - crush: none - mother: Falconflight - tags: Falconflight, other kits
>>
She looked at her mother and the kits, her father and Prancetail showing up to the Pinecloud's kits as well. She shook her head a little bit "I don't mind helping you with bedding mom, I am not afraid of hard work...even if it's not truly hard...but anyway..." she meowed to her. She looked back to her mother "I can go to help Peddlestream to change her nest?" she meowed excitedly "But...you get me the moss and I clean the nest...easy" she meowed to her father who mentioned about to get the moss outside of the camp.

┗━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┛

After her question to Prancetail blurted out of her small muzzle, the pale grey she-kit was thrown onto the ground abruptly. A small squeak of surprised terror left her and she stay laying there for a moment, seemingly out of breath. Hearing Lynxkit’s happy mew, she sighed and felt the weight lift off of her, allowing the younger kit to help her to her paws. Although Lynxkit was a moon younger, they were practically they same size due to how sickly she had been as a kit. “I-I’m fine, It’s okay, really.” She reassured her den mate while taking slow, deep breaths; an attempt at slowing the pounding in her frail chest. Even though the tabby kit apologized, she didn’t seem to really mind; instantly jumping around in an attempt to play more. Although Willowkit would’ve loved too, she just didn’t feel so good and needed a moment to steady herself. She shook out her thin but long fur and took a seat, tail curled over her front paws.

Leopardpaw
Apprentice
9 Moons
Status: Outside the apprentice den & Near fresh-kill pile
Mentions; Lilydapple, Hawkthroat
Tags; Kestrelpaw, Lilydapple

┗━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┛

Leopardpaw froze in his tracks for a moment when Kestrelpaw asked how he thought of Lilydapple. He wasn’t really sure what the appropriate response would be. His eyes flicked around camp as he pondered on how to respond to the pretty she-cat. It seemed the whole clan was awake and about now, patrols being organized to go out. He glanced over at Kestrelpaw, seeing she seemed to be a bit distracted as well. Maybe she didn’t even realize the kind of question she just asked me. He thought to himself. “Oh, well Lilydapple is a kind Tom, of course.” He started a bit nervously. “Sometimes I wonder if it was the best decision for him to have an apprentice so young, If I’ll be honest with you. It’s not so often that happens.” He tried to choose his words carefully. He didn’t want to hurt Lilydapple’s feelings if the clan started questioning his ability to mentor so young. And honestly, Leopardpaw did like the Tom, he just was a bit unsure about his training at the moment. Where is Lilydapple? I’ve seen almost everyone but him. At almost the same moment, Leopardpaw spotted the orange and white warrior coming through the camp entrance with mice dangling from his jaw. “Maybe we could both train together today, or patrol.” He told Kestrelpaw with a warm gaze before trotting off in the direction of his young mentor. “Morning, Lilydapple.” He gently murmured. “What do we have planned today? I was thinking whatever we do, maybe we could bring along Kestrelpaw and Hawkthroat?” Leopardpaw hoped Lilydapple would agree. And besides, he’d love to show off any of his skills to his father.

┏━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┓
Honeybriar
Warrior
20 Moons
Status: Outside medicine cat den
Mentions; Cardinalcall, Sandblossom
Tags; Cardinalcall

┗━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┛

A loud purr erupted from Honeybriar's throat as Cardinalcall leaned closer to her. Relief flooded through her that the orange tom did indeed want to spend some time with her. But, embarrassment soon took over once again when she realized how loud her purr truly was. Not wanting to move away from him, she simply tried to quiet her purr and replied in a happy joking matter, "Oh you silly tom, you'd survive just fine without me!" She felt his paw brush against hers and longed to bury her muzzle deep in his fur and stay there forever. Honeybriar! How could you be thinking this way! What a disgrace I am.. She thought to herself sternly. The she-cat slightly jumped at the sound of footsteps approaching, and her eyes got slightly wider when she noticed Sandblossom brush past them and into then den. Honeybriar straightened and lifted her paw to give it a few swift licks. “Good morning Sandblossom,” Honeybriar greeted gently as the tom reappeared from inside the den. “I’d love to he-” She was cut off by Cardinalcall listing off some possible things the two could do to help the medicine cat. Before she could respond, Cardinalcall was heading away with their fresh-kill. With a polite nod to Sandblossom, Honeybriar followed after the tom. A small smile spread across her face as the two fell in line side by side with their flanks brushing. I wish I could tell him how I really felt. She thought to herself with a slight sigh. She noticed that Cardinalcall stumbled over a rock once he got a bit in front of her, so she was quick to step over it and not stumble herself. As he settled down somewhat near Shadestep and Wiltedleaf, Honeybriar watched him begin to stare at the two cats curled close together. Could he possibly feel some sort of way for Wiltedleaf? She thought anxiously to herself. She tried eagerly to push the thought away as she approached him. When he gave her a tepid grin, her worries began to slightly grow. Is he just doing this out of pity for me? Oh starclan I hope not. She froze for a second. I’m sorry, Starclan! I know I shouldn’t feel this way for him, but I can’t help it! She settled down beside him and took a bite out of the rabbit. Trying her best to eat gracefully and not make a fool of herself.

Crowgaze
Warrior
32 Moons
Status:
Mentions; Pebblestream, Cardinalcall, Honeybriar, Silentstar, Morningfrost

┗━━━━━━༻❁༺━━━━━━┛

Crowgaze didn’t often sleep in, but this day, his sleep was interrupted by a terrible dream.

Padding through the open hillside of Sunclan territory, faint terrified wails reached his large fluffy ears. Crowgaze stopped abruptly, eyes filled with horror. Pebblestream? He shook himself as if to focus, before bolting into a run. The scared yowls got louder and he tossed his head left to right, in search of his dear friend. No, Starclan, No! Please let her be okay! He passed over the hill, an open view of the ocean. The rigid cliffside overlooking sand-place loomed before him. Legs quivering with fear and heartache, he rushed to the edge and looked down.

Awaking with a fright, the massive black tom leapt out of his nest. Thank starclan no one was in here to see that. He thought to himself grimly. He gave his dark glossy coat a thorough grooming and headed for the entrance to the warriors den. As he exited into the camp clearing, everyone was out and about. No one seemed to be too worried about anything, and the clan appeared to be safe. He let out a quiet relieved breath and padded towards the fresh-kill pile. He glanced sideways at the medicine cat apprentice, Cardinalcall, who was seeming to be real friendly with Honeybriar. He let out an unamused scoff. It was against the warrior code for a medicine cat to take on a mate. That Tom better not be trying to pull anything. He grumbled to himself, at a level no one else would hear. Crowgaze most certainly would have no problem voicing his opinion about a traitor to the warrior code. Turning towards the fresh-kill pile, he already knew he’d be choosing something for Pebblestream to eat the majority of; even though his appetite was huge, he always put Pebblestream first. Catching sight of a fine squirrel, he picked it up and padded instantly towards the elders den. As he passed a group of his clan mates gathered around Silentstar, he singled her out and gave her a firm but respectful nod in greeting. Reaching the elders den, he squeezed through, shoulders brushing against the entryway. At the sight of Morningfrost in front of Pebblestream, a mouse rested on her front paw, his eyes narrowed. Crowgaze was most certainly overprotective of Pebblestream; I mean, she was his one true love and he would do anything to protect her. He sometimes got a bit jealous when his clan mates showed much interest in her. Quickly, he shook the thoughts out of his head. I want her to feel as loved as she can; as much as I love her. He padded up to the two-she cats and placed the squirrel in front of him. Quickly, he laid down facing Pebblestream; their paws touching. “Good morning.” He grumbled, a raspy purr rising from his throat. “I brought you a squirrel, but I see your friend here brought you some fresh-kill already.” He glanced up at Morningfrost, trying his best to look friendly.

1 - Frostcreek, Dewpaw

Postby Catfrog » Thu Nov 02, 2023 10:50 pm

Frostcreek
[ male - 50 moons - warrior ] [ location idek - tags: open ]

Frostcreek had few worries, and whether or not he woke up early was not one of them. Today happened to be one of the days he woke up late. He considered it fine as long as he woke up before patrols were sent out. He sat up in his nest to groom himself, licking down his light-colored pelt. His fur was short, grooming it was an easy task. Things rarely got caught in it, too. Once he felt clean enough, he rose from his nest and left the den. He stretched for a while, preparing his muscles for a days work. It seemed like patrols were being put together. Hopefully he would end up on one. It wasn't like he had an apprentice to train, and although he enjoyed basking in the sun, he enjoyed hunting under it much more. He wedged himself into a corner of the camp and laid down there. With a yawn, he observed his clanmates milling about. His gaze drifted to the elders den, searching for his sister. He squinted to see into the entrance of the den, but eventually spotted her and two other cats. Someone's popular, he thought with a purr. He'd try and catch something for her while he was out on patrol. Well, if he ended up on a hunting patrol, that is. If not, well, he hadn't gotten there yet.

Dewpaw
[ female - 7 moons - apprentice ] [ outside apprentices den- tags: Iceheart]

Dewpaw's dreams were always so vivid. At times, her dreams were lifelike enough that she felt like she had already experienced an entire day when she woke up. Today she dreamt of leaf-fall. Leaves swirled around her, blocking her path and ruffling her fur. She tried to catch them, but always fell short as a gust of wind blew them forward. When she felt herself waking up, she was so close to one leaf. Close enough to catch it! But instead of catching it, she heard Iceheart's voice, calling into the den. She flattened her ears, trying to block out her mentor's voice and drift back to sleep. No, I'm not in here, she thoughtt. But, not wanting to get in trouble, she decided to listen to her mentor. "I'm awake!" She replied to Iceheart, shooting up out of her nest and shaking her fur out wildly. She raced out to meet her mentor, almost losing her balance as she stopped in front of him. "I woke up so late! Did I miss anything?" She said, pausing for a moment "I'm not in trouble, right?"

indentationHis ears flushed as he realized he'd totally erased Silverpaw from his visual memory on the way over. So he'd ignored him, silently he scolded himself, with a severe frown on his face. He glanced at the pale furred cat and gave a discreet nod of acknowledgment. He blinked as Adderstrike left, and hummed a half-hearted goodbye, before turning his attention back to Silentstar. Quietstorm not being available was a bit of a bummer, but he'd get over it. "Flickerlight's mentoring Cliffpaw, so that might not be a good idea. I'd probably interfere with his training no matter if it's on purpose or not." He muttered quietly as he looked around, not quite realizing that he was in fact talking aloud and not just thinking things through. "Honeybriar seems to have possibly offered herself as tribute to the medicine cats... And I don't think Morningfrost is Terribly busy." He nodded to himself, then turned his gaze back to Silentstar again, with a small upturn of his lips. " I think that I'll snag Morningfrost then. " He said with a low purr.

indentationThe tom practically raced away, after Onyxpaw and Adderstrike left to do their own thing. Trotting out of camp the amber-brown tom figured he wouldn't have much free time, and so decided he'd just do a loop or two around camp before heading back in. Speed wise he started off pretty even, before he slowly began to pick up his pace. He wasn't looking to tire himself out, but to at least get the blood pumping a little, so he wouldn't go all out. Hopefully, he'd get one lap done before Flickerlight came looking for him.

indentationPinecloud absently listened to the conversation between the three, but still kept her gaze of her two kits. She tensed as she watched as Lynxkit practically flatten Willowkit. It had been a struggle to not leap to her paws and snarl at the young kit. With herself being a first time mother, paired with raising her kits essentially alone, doubled by how sickly they were - or are depending on the day. She admitted she could get rather feral when it came to her babies. She breathed out a raspy chuckle, as she noticed Finchkit doing it herself. Well, at least I don't have to worry about that.

indentation Chase seemed light a good idea as long as they had some breaks between rounds. Wouldn't want to over extend themselves, and have a fit. She blinked as Prancetail called them over and trailed after her sister. Her eyes narrowed as he mentioned their father, That Tom's long gone, mamma already explained why he wasn't here. Shouldn't another warrior know that? The young chocolate molly huffed, but didn't speak, not wanting to offend or worse embarrass the warrior. How ever, her mood took a turn when Lynxkit tackled Willowkit. Tail puffing up with agitation, she hissed stepping protectively between the two. "Are you trying to kill my sister!? " She growled out the question. Finchkit knew it was probable that she maybe over reacting, but Willowkit had always been the weakest and most sickly of their litter, so she was very protective when it came to her. She glanced back at her sister then huffed, and started to groom her sisters fur in an attempt to calm herself and assure herself that she wasn't in need of a medicine cat.

Prancetail 2

𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋
━━━━━━━━━━━━
( Rank: Warrior ) xx( Location: Outside the nursery ) xx( Mentions: xx )xx ( tagged: Lynxkit, Finchkit & Willowkit )
xxxxx Prancetail straightened himself up and puffed out his chest, giving it a shy lick. “Of course I can teach you guys!” he purred, getting ready to drop into another crouch when a small flurry of movement caught the corner of his eye. Before he could react he realised it was Lynxkit, who barelled straight into Willowkit. His eyes widened in alarm as Willowkits small legs gave out under her, while every instinct in his body was telling him to push the young kit from off the top the smaller one, he forced his eyes to soften. “Lynxkit! let her get up…” he spoke softly, afraid that he might jump on her again without thinking. his gaze flickered too Finchkits angry voice, that was now helping groom Willowkits dusty fur. He wondered if the medicine cats knew of the small she-kits situation. Maybe she needed a little more attention than the rest, or maybe some strengthening herbs? if possible? Perhaps ill talk to one of the medicine cats later…
xxxxx He pondered for a moment internally, before clearing his throat and speaking up. “ Lynxkit you’re very fast!” He mewed the praise, wanting to draw away attention from Williwkit as she tried to regain herself, afraid to embarrass her. “Maybe you’ll be faster than me someday…” He purred lightly, running his tail along the kits spine.
xxxxx Prancetail was one of fastest, if not thee fastest in the clan. His long legs and lean frame let him gain speed quite easily, and his agility to move through the trees helped him quite a lot as well. His gaze flickered back to Willowkit who was standing still, drawing in deep breaths. He leaned over and gave a quick lick between her eyes, his ears straining to hear her breaths coming in more evenly now.
xxxxx He felt relieved when her warm breath rustled his whiskers, sitting back on his haunches and letting his gaze travel Pinecloud, whose intense gaze was fixed on the kits. She must not blame him for being too slow to grab Lynxkit before he toppled into Willowkit, he wondered - but couldn’t help worry seep into his paws.

ADDERSTRIKE 3
❝Let your soul stand cool and composed before a million Universes.❞
gender; Male age; 25 Moons rank; Warrior (Wants Deputy) crush/mate; None apprentice; Onyxpaw sexuality; Pansexual and Poly
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Neutral and Friendly location; Heading out to hunt mentions; Iceheart, Dewpaw, Silentstar, Ivythroat, Shadestep tagged; Iceheart, Dewpaw

indentationAdderstrike shot Iceheart a playful glare. He knew he wasn't nearly as agile as the black tom, and probably never will be. That was okay with Adderstrike though, he was decent at other things, and had no need for tree climbing. Adderstrike feigned sadness. He held up a paw to Iceheart and sighed "Alas, my huge paws are way to clumsy to compete with an expert climber like yourself, Iceheart. My skills are indeed no match for yours, but why must they be when you can do it for the both of us?" Adderstrike gave Iceheart a gentle bump with his shoulder and flicked his tail playfully. At the black tom's second comment Adderstrike laughed softly. "Well if that's how you feel about it, I can speak with Silentstar and you can stay here? Go on patrol without my glorious company! It wouldn't be nearly as fun without you." Adderstrike mock pouted but kept trotting ahead. His ears flicked back, hoping that he didn't take his little act too far.
indentationAdderstrike followed Iceheart over to the apprentice's den to find Dewpaw. It hadn't been long since he had been an apprentice himself, he had some pretty good memories in this den with his siblings, messing around and just being apprentices. But now they were warriors. They had a duty to their clan. No more time for messing around when there was work to be done. Adderstrike couldn't help but smile when Dewpaw scampered out of the den. Adderstrike remembered the days where he had slept in late and asked his mentor the exact same question. Adderstrike chuckled softly, but did not say anything to Dewpaw about the matter only a simple, "Morning, Dewpaw." It wasn't his place to scold the apprentice or tell her it was okay. He would leave the for Iceheart to decide.

FALCONFLIGHT 4
❝I am not lazy. I am on energy saving mode.❞
gender; Female age; 26 Moons rank; Queen (Warrior) crush/mate; Wingsplash apprentice; None sexuality; Heterosexual-romantic kits; Lynxkit, Strawberrykit, Flamingkit
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Worried and Anxious location; Nursery mentions; Pinecloud, Prancetail, Flamingkit, Willowkit, Finchkit, Lynxkit tagged; Flamingkit, Prancetail, Willowkit, Finchkit, Lynxkit

indentationFalconflight looked up from the moss when she heard raised voices. Looking over she saw Pinecloud's fur prickled. Looking outside she realized the Lynkit had just jumped on top of Willowkit and Willowkit was shaky while standing. Falconflight looked down at Flamingkit and gave her a quick lick, telling her to stay here with Pinecloud. Falconflight bounded quickly over to where the kits were with Prancetail. Prancetail had just said something to Lynxkit, but it didn't sound hurtful or mean so she was okay with it. "Thank you Prancetail, I'll take care of it from here, I appreciate you helping thank you." She flicked her tail in thanks to the tom and focused on Willowkit. Falconflight pulled the still shaky kit to her, letting the small kit rest against her to steady herself. She dipped her head and gave Willowkit a few gentle comforting strokes on the head with her tongue, trying calm the small kitten down and stabilize her.
indentationFinchkit was puffed up and protecting her sister. Flaconflight nudged the kit and gave her a few licks as well. "Thank you Finchkit for protecting Willowkit. I'll take care of it, okay?" Lynxkit was sitting crouched close to the ground, eyes wide and ears flattened against her head. She looked like she was scared. Falconflight picked her up and put her between her paws and groomed the kit. Surprisingly she didn't struggle against it. This must have troubled her more than Falconflight thought. Good, this will teach Lynxkit that she needs to be careful and think before she leaps, literally, or she could hurt another cat. This is a good learning moment "Lynxkit, you can't just jump on other cats, okay? You could have really hurt Willowkit when you jumped on her. You need to make sure that if you are playing the other cat knows what you are doing and are ready for you. Why don't you go apologize to Willowkit for jumping on her. I know you didn't mean to hurt her, so go say you're sorry." Falconflight nudged Lynxkit towards Willowkit so that she would apologize to her den mate. After Lynxkit apologized, Falconflight nodded her approval and turned to Willowkit again. "Are you alright Willowkit? Would you like to go back inside? Or do you want to stay out here?"

LYNXKIT 4
❝Your life does not get better by chance. Your life gets better by change.❞
gender; Female age; 2 Moons rank; Kitten crush/mate; None mentor; None Yet sexuality; Questioning
────────────────────────────────────────────────
feeling; Confused and Sorry location; Camp clearing mentions; Prancetail, Falconflight, Willowkit, Finchkit tagged; Falconflight, Willowkit

indentationLynxkit looked around, eyes wide, at all the commotion around her. Prancetail said something scolding her. She didn't know what it was she had done that was bad. She saw Willowkit still shaking and knew that it was Lynkit's fault for jumping on her when she wasn't looking. She looked around and saw Finchkit all puffed up looking angry and Lynxkit backed away, crouching as close to the ground as she could, her ears flattening against her head. "I di-" At that moment her mother came bounding over and looked over Willowkit, making sure she wasn't hurt, asking her if she was okay, and calming Finchkit down. Lynxkit hadn't meant to hurt Willowkit, she had just wanted to play, but Willowkit looked hurt and Lynxkit was worried that she would be upset with Lynxkit and not play anymore.
indentationLynxkit looked up at her mother when Falconflight told her to apologize to Willowkit. "I did apologize to her, but I'll do it again. I didn't mean to hurt her, I just wanted to play with her and Finchkit." Lynxkit scooted towards Willowkit, hoping that her den mate would not be angry at her. Maybe if she explained more that she didn't mean to and she would to better from now on, Willowkit would still let her play with them. She looked at Willowkit and her tail drooped. "I'm really sorry Willowkit. I didn't mean to hurt you. I should have made sure you were looking and ready beofre I jumped on you. I will try to be better form now on. Please don't be mad at me. I really didn't mean to hurt you."

Pebblestream sat patiently as Morningfrost went to retrieve her breakfast. She felt incredibly lucky to have clanmates who cared so much for her, she knew it wasn't easy to care for another. “Thank you,” she told Morningfrost as she felt the mouse being placed on her paw. She began to eat, listening to the molly speak. “No, I don't have any plans, although when do I ever... Maybe I'll try to stretch my legs a little today, it could do some good,” she meowed thoughtfully. She was trying her hardest to be optimistic and happy, but it was admittedly a little pathetic. The scent of Crowgaze hit her and she purred at him in greeting. “Good morning!” Pebblestream enjoyed whenever he came to visit her. It reminded her of their apprentice days, before her accident. She was always so grateful that he didn't abandon her. “Thank you for the thought, but Morningfrost had it covered today!” she responded, her ears flicking gently. “Have either of you seen Frostcreek this morning? Is he doing well?” Despite the fact that he was older than her, she always worried about her brother. She knew there was no good reason for it, he was a strong, capable cat, but she couldn't help it.

• Silverpaw •

bio | tags: Silentstar, Hawkthroat, Adderstrike | mentions: --

Silverpaw gave Silentstar a respectful little nod in response, sitting down patiently. He watched as his mentor spoke with Hawkthroat and wondered what it was like being leader. He was sure it was stressful, always keeping everyone in line and making sure things ran smoothly. He thought it sounded kind of exciting. He wondered if she ever got time to just relax, maybe roam the territory and hang out. Silverpaw wasn't sure that he could live such a demanding life, he admired Silentstar a little more just thinking about it. He gave Adderstrike and Hawkthroat friendly looks as they spoke with Silentstar, letting his eyes wander the camp.

Hunger quickly wins out Quietstorm’s guarding. They stand to their paws and stretch, biting down on a yawn. They walk over to the fresh-kill pile and glance over at the medicine cats’ den. Honestly, their brother probably hasn’t even taken the time to eat. They pick up two pieces of prey - a songbird and a mouse - and carry them over to the den.

“Sandblossom,” they call out, after setting the prey down. Quietstorm hears a bit of rustling in the back, but before Sandblossom can say anything, Quietstorm hears Onyxpaw behind them. They turn around to spot the apprentice and dips their head. “Onyxpaw,” they greet. “Sure,” the warrior says, thinking mournfully to the nap they could’ve taken. They glance over their shoulder, spotting Sandblossom watching the two with an amused expression. It looks almost forced, Quietstorm thinks; something they only pick up on because they know Sandblossom like the back of their paw.

Quietstorm turns back to Onyxpaw. “I’ll meet you at the camp entrance shortly,” they promise. Once the apprentice is gone, they sigh and roll their eyes at their brother’s laughter. “Don’t forget to eat,” Quietstorm says, pointing their tail at the songbird.

“What are you, my parent?” Sandblossom shoots back, amusement in his eyes real this time. “That goes for you, too,” he adds, pointing down at the mouse.

“I know.” They take a quick bite of the mouse, quickly chewing and swallowing it, before shooting back with, “And we’re having a talk later.”

“About what?” their poor brother tries to ask, but Quietstorm has already inhaled their mouse as quickly as they could. Licking their lips, they narrow their eyes at Sandblossom in a we will be talking later don’t you dare forget manner, then buries the bones outside the den and heads over to the entrance.

    ─── ────── ─── ────── 𝑖𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑠 𝑚𝑒, 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑙𝑜𝑜𝑘 𝑢𝑝 𝑡𝑜 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑠𝑘𝑦 ─── ─── ──── ──
xxxOh, you silly tom, you'd survive just fine without me!
xxxAs the orange tom watched the she-cat settle in beside him, a soft smile rumpled his muzzle while he thought back on her remark near the medicine cat den. Honeybriar sincerely hadn't a clue just how wrong she was. To lose her, would be to lose a piece of himself - a piece so mammoth, so crucial, that it would be soul-changing to say the least. His smile soured as he pictured having to keep vigil over Honeybriar - an the sky loomed dark and abysmal in his mind's eye. The would would be darker without her effervescence. A star would not join the sky as she ran to Silverpelt; they would all come raining down over his head and burn into his pelt until he was but an ashen smudge on the ground. Passing paws would wipe him away until he was no more, but his moment of perishing would come the moment she too, ceased to be.
xxxCardinalcall shut his eyes and let out a long, heavy sigh, shaking himself free of the nightmarish idea that Honeybriar would leave this world before he did. As he opened his eyes again, the medicine cat found himself under the scrutiny of Crowgaze, whose expression suggested he had some things he might like to say about the nearness that was so apparent between himself and the she-cat who was enjoying the hare she'd brought for them to share. He narrowed his eyes at the raven-furred feline with a slight retraction of his ears. His bright olive glance narrowed with a silent challenge for him to go on and voice those things - but his heart kicked up an unsteady beat. The confidence written all over his face melted away as he cut his gaze toward Honeybriar.
xxxDoes she feel the same as I do? Will she turn me away, if I tell her the truth?
xxxCardinalcall seemed to sink through the earth as he bowed his head and took a bite of the hare, chewing thoughtfully as he found himself tripping over his own self-doubt. He wanted so badly to tell Honeybriar how she'd claimed his heart - and she could have as much more of him as she desired - but would it be right of him to make her chose him over their way of life? The clan would be in uproar if they uncovered the truth.
xxxBut... she was worth it. She was worth anything it took to have her by his side. The tom clenched his jaw as his stomach gave a fitful rumble. Turning to the she-cat, he decided to set it all aside, if only to collect on a moment he'd be able to cherish when life refused to give him any more to hold close.
xxx"This hare is delicious, Honeybriar," he hummed to her, cutting loose a deep, rumbling purr that voiced his genuine delight. "As soon as we fill our bellies, perhaps we can go on the search for poppy seeds together. I'll ask Sandblossom if there any other herbs we need to collect, as well. I noticed we're low on a few other things, but those poppy seeds are just about to become crow-food. Oh, I- uh, I have something for you. One moment, I'll return in just a second. Keep eating, my dear. You must keep your strength up."
xxxAs he rose, he dared to be a little more bold than perhaps he should have been with so many prying eyes. He glanced to Wiltedleaf and Shadestep, who were too invested in their conversation and each other's company to even notice they were there. Then he narrowed his eyes at the fading figure of Crowgaze. Letting out a long breath through his nose, he looked back down at her and bent down to rasp his tongue between her rounded ears (which he adored with all his might). As he pulled away, their noses brushed and it caused the orange tom a grand moment of pause, peering into her spell-binding eyes, before he turned tail and trotted off back to the medicine cat den with his pelt aflame and his heart racing in his chest.
xxxThe tom ducked into the medicine cat's den and padded to the back where his flimsy nest was. He'd failed to keep the materials well kept and he was essentially sleeping on the ground at this point. It had become a place to hide his personal treasures, rather than a good nest to sleep in. With his paws, he shifted the thin veil of moss he used to hide his artifacts. From his little stash, he took out a small stem of lavender, fully intact and in bloom. He wasn't sure what Honeybriar might do with it, but when he'd found it while searching for mint, the she-cat had come to his mind. He imagined it would look beautiful in her pelt, or the blossoms on the stem would provide something downy soft to line her nest with. Gingerly, the tom picked up his gift and trotted out with a hastened pace back to join the she-cat who still devoured the hare she'd brought them. He let out an excited 'prrp!' as he approached once more and came to stand in front of her. Flattening his ears back, he lowered his head and dropped the lavender at her paws.
xxxCardinalcall took a second to simply look at her, committing her features and gaze to memory, before he settled back down and took a bite out of the hare - an excuse not to speak first, as he wasn't even sure if he could untangle his tongue enough to talk. His heart threatened to jump from the bony cage of his ribs it beat so fiercely.
xxxPlease, dear Starclan, let her love me, too.

xxxWiltedleaf let out a purred laugh, before she nodded her head and let her whiskers twitch with her amusement. "I know that you would. So long as I've got you, not a single piece of fur on my pelt would find itself out of place."
xxxThe warrior bent down to take another bite of the hare, but paused in her chewing as she felt Shadestep rest his head on her back. Eyes widening, she blinked in a flurry, feeling her chest pinch tight with thrill and hope. Shifting her head in slight, she rasped her tongue over the fur of his broad chest, then pressed her nose into his silken pelt to let it linger there for a moment. His scent flooded her nose and Wiltedleaf felt a dizzied sensation overcome her head.
xxxI should just tell him how I feel. But... what if he doesn't feel the same? Is this his way of telling me he has feelings for me? Is he just... being nice to me?
xxxGreat Starclan did she hope not. She hoped the signals she thought he was trying to give her were real - were what she thought and hoped they were.
xxxThe dopey grin that crossed her muzzle left the she-cat's pelt burning hot with embarrassment, but she did not wipe her grin off her face. She couldn't have if she wanted to, anyway, as the dark furred tom edged closer without hesitance. Then, much to her delight, she felt his tongue began to rasp through her russet pelt. Stunned by his forward gesture, Wiltedleaf stared at him with her eyes warming until they became honeyed pools, full of the affection she felt for Shadestep. She drew in a long, deep breath, and sank closer to him, closing her eyes as she shamelessly accepted his affections; did he feel the way she felt for him? The tom was perpetually keeping to himself - he wasn't one to show emotion, but he did so now in such a grand way that Wiltedleaf couldn't help but see as confirmation that he did, indeed, care for her in a way that he didn't care for many other cats. Or perhaps, if she was so lucky, he cared for her in away that he didn't care for anyone else.
xxxWiltedleaf could say the same. Shadestep had her heart in a way that no other cat ever had - and, she figured, no other cat ever would. The tom sent her heart flying like a runaway breeze when he offered to keep her company at night, to ensure that she got a good night's rest. The russet she-cat leaned back so that she could look the tom in the eyes, completely enamored and unaware of the rest of the world around them. How could a warrior as strong and fierce as him, chose her? She had no idea what it was that drew him close to her, but she decided then, that not matter how close they got, it would never be close enough. So, meeting his bravery with a stroke of her own, Wiltedleaf leaned over to touch their noses together for a moment, before she pulled back just enough to look him in the eyes. She spoke softly, for only their ears to hear.
xxx"I would love nothing more than to curl up next to you. If I had you close by, I know that I would sleep better than I ever have. I want your company in sleep and waking. Be careful, Shadestep, if you say much more you may find me in your nest come dawn tomorrow."
xxxShe let her grin linger on her face and her ears tipped back with another flush of heat that gushed over her. The brown tabby ducked her head and went back to eating the hare, purring madly as she did so. Absentmindedly, she wound her tail around the tom's neck and brushed it around to stroke the side of his face with its snowy tip. The pair finished their breakfast, licking the bones of the hare clean. She worked at the leg until she split it from the rest of the carcass, intending to share the marrow as a treat with him later if he'd like. Once they were finished, the she-cat rose to her paws and carted off their throw-aways, making sure to drop off the bone to her nest before she padded back out to Shadestep. Pulling up by his side, she smiled down at him, her pelt abuzz with static excitement.
xxxShe let her gaze shift upward and with a raise of her ears, she noticed her brother staring at her and Shadestep from across camp. Her mouth ran dry and she swallowed hard, clearing her throat. Her beloved brother was her rock - the most important cat in her life - and he was by her side every moment of her life. There was no other cat that would protect her and hold her close like her brother would. Her gaze fluttered back down to Shadestep and her ears flattened. No other cat except Shadestep. Would Shivergale be angry with her, if things went farther than they already had between she and Shadestep? Wiltedleaf's stomach clenched as she invisioned telling her brother how madly in love she was with this tom. What would he say? Would he approve? Would he want her to stay away from him?
xxxIf he did, Wiltedleaf wasn't sure that she could appease her brother's desire. Shadestep was swiftly becoming the center of her world - and there was room there for the love of her life and her brother.
xxxBut would Shivergale make room for Shadestep?
xxxShedding those pesky thoughts, she turned her attention back to the warrior in front of her.
xxx"Shall we collect Blackberrypaw, then?" she purred.

xxxThe bothered expression that lingered on her apprentice's face tightened the tortoiseshell's chest with pity - with understanding. The she-cats had many things in common, though the warrior was reluctant to shove her own experiences, her own nightmares, down the molly's throat. What she had gone through, Rosedusk could only imagine, was earth-shattering: being changing in the cruelest of ways. The pair shared the sentiment that they were simply there, rather than part of something meaningful - that their own family had cast them out to the borders of their hearts and care. The warrior, as the two settled down with their meals, wondered if Birdpaw knew just how much she cared for her. She wished that the she-cat would find it within herself to lose the fear of getting close to someone. Rosedusk was no saint, not divine cat that had come from the purest streams of Starclan, but she was there.
xxxThe tortoiseshell knew only the outskirts of Birdpaw's story. The she-cat had been a loner before she was found at the edge of Sunclan's territory. Ghosts chased the tabby wherever she went and by the way she behaved, she could only assume those phantoms had nothing nice to haunt her with. Rosedusk had her own haunts - she too, had been lost in a different world for a moment and the tales she brought back with her had become poltergeists that refused to let her forget their names, or the things they loathed. The young cat had no family within the clan, no blood she shared - but the tortoiseshell was a firm believer that blood did not make one kin. The heart did.
xxxPried from her thoughts by her apprentice's remark that she was excited to see what she had in store, the warrior let out a pleased purr. She offered Birdpaw a slow blink and waited patiently for her to take her first bite of prey. After she had done so, Rosedusk went back to eating her own meal. The apprentice might not have the time of her life with their lessons today, but they would return with high spirits and the sun's warmth still caressing their pelts. Fighting and hunting were imperative to survival, but perhaps more critical, was loving one's self. This was an art that Rosedusk could not entirely teach the apprentice, but she could certainly inspire her to learn how to care for herself as she wanted to care for her clan.
xxxThen, the she-cat let out a garbled hack and feathers puffed out around them. The tortoiseshell, feeling a white hot stroke of panic invading her chest, started to get to her paws to assist her apprentice. It would be par for the course, if her first apprentice died right beside her. Her ears flattened against her skull as Birdpaw followed up quick with a clearly embarrassed apology and the she-cat sank back down onto her belly with a quiet chuckle, not wanting to make the tabby feel like she was poking fun at her. Instead, the black and orange molly reached out a paw and turned it to the side, so that she could swipe the single tear that escaped her apprentice's eyes with a quick swipe that wouldn't (hopefully) leave her feeling as if her space had been intruded upon. Rather than make a big fuss of it, she settled back to take another bite of her meal. However, Birdpaw muttered a soft 'thank you' and the warrior offered her apprentice a crooked smile that left a fang to poke free of her upper muzzle. The tabby inquired if she was to be gifted any hints about what they would do together that day, to which the tortoiseshell gave her apprentice a wry grin. She picked up on the apprentice's sneaky attempt to change the subject - and for her sake, the warrior obliged.
xxx"I can't bear to spoil it. I've worked on our schedule all of five minutes this morning. I couldn't stand to have my hard work revealed," the she-cat purred teasingly. She gave a turn of her head, flicking her tail up as she let out a soft laugh. "We won't be doing anything strenuous today, save for whatever Silentstar may have us do. It is a lovely day, Birdpaw. Thus, we will do lovely things. It is important to remember the sun when the moon persists in looming."
xxxThe she-cat bent back to her meal, thinking with a sheepish smirk that perhaps she should take her own advice. Finally, the duo finished off their food and Rosedusk grunted her way to her paws. Peering down at her apprentice, she curled her tail over her back.
xxx"Alright, shall we go see what Silentstar wants us to do today?"
